Ted must be worried about Emperor Trump. Or perhaps he's feeling pressure in Texas for his seat.
Amarosa has threatened to send him to the Phantom Zone and his wife and daughters to Endor who will be force to weave hairpieces for Overlord Trump from Ewok ball fluff.

The media are finally pulling their fingers out and having a closer look at this.....

U.S. intel officials probe ties between Trump adviser and Kremlin

U.S. intelligence officials are seeking to determine whether an American businessman identified by Donald Trump as one of his foreign policy advisers has opened up private communications with senior Russian officials — including talks about the possible lifting of economic sanctions if the Republican nominee becomes president, according to multiple sources who have been briefed on the issue.......

Yes, I agree. It's purely "what can hurt the person who hurt Bernie" for some of them, so a (thankfully small) number have gone to Trump. Then you have the "clean and honest" stuff which could send them to Johnson or Stein. Only true believers would pick Stein, and that number is really small too, which is sad.
It would be interesting to how many actual like the political ideas Bernie was talking about and how many as you said simply liked him because of clean and honest image. Have the same worry with Corbyn over here, that a lot of people like because he's appears honest and makes he's own jam.

I get the feeling the whole Bernie moment might just fade out sadly.

Can we trust Yahoo? They let the Russians get all our passwords, after all...

Caught some Bryan Fisher 'Focal Point' on the radio this afternoon. He's a nutter. Everything is funded by Soros who wants to destroy the US he claims. Further stated Soros is paying for protestors to bus into Charlotte. Then goes off on CIA Director John Brennan being a communist sympathizer (without explaining why he voted for Hall in 1976) and that he converted to Muslim faith. Conveniently forgets to mention the same Brennan was initially appointed to a high cabinet position under Bush Jr. I truly wanted to strangle this fecktard. To hear such nonsense on a supposed religious station (AFR) is ridiculous.

I agree with the last line; the reason it's surprising to me is because I remember polls showing that support for his policies was high especially among young people. 40% of Iowa Democrats identified as socialist ffs.

Stein's not exactly like-for-like Bernie either, given her anti-vax and homeopathy flirtations.

A bit more nuanced than that...her party removed homeopathy from the platform (it's voted on by all party members) and her (convoluted) anti-vax statement is something like this: "vaccines are safe. BUT. other countries don't have mandatory vaccination and acheive nearly 100% coverage anyway. Because their populations trust their FDA. Our FDA is in the pocket of big pharma; no-one trusts it."
But what she wants to do about that in the short-term I don't know.

While I was reading the bolded part I thought you actually were quoting what she said. It only got implausible once you mentioned Endor and Ewoks.
I think that says a lot about this campaign

Yup, it's here too.

This could top it all and bring him down. Massive conflicts of interest, and if you put that with the recent reports of spending campaign donations and pocketing donations, plus the bribery of Pam Bondi, well it's all looking exceptionally dodgy for Trump. He could easily face corruption and bribery charges as well as possible embezzlement charges too. No doubt though, as usual he will talk his way out of it and escape unscathed, the Teflon coated spray tanned, small handed cnut that he is. :(

I didn't catch this during the primaries...
Clinton recently said that as president, she would close any public school “that wasn’t doing a better than average job.”

Isn't this the same profound maths skills that a Tory ex-minister was ripped to pieces for?

According to Eric his father "started with just about nothing" and became a successful real estate mogul.

He was quickly reminded that his father was already a millionaire before entering the business sector. On Fox nonetheless!

I think his father lend him a million dollars and he used the money to build apartments or houses in ny, until that point he wasn't a millionaire.

It's funny watching some of The Young Turks segments about him. According to them he's more or less failed at every business venture he's ever tried on his own, has had to have others (including his own father) bail him out on several occasions and lies constantly about the true extent of his own personal wealth which by all accounts is a relative faction of what he claims it to be.

Of course TYT have their own 'agenda' one might say. Doesn't mean it isn't true of course.

I think it's fair to assume the worst since he has no interest in releasing his tax records.

I just don't get why people would try to defend Trump? They honestly just end up looking like complete idiots. He's so completely full of shit and it's all on record except his tax returns, so it's safe to assume he isn't worth anything near what he says he is, and any other argument is just a quick google away.

Is it true he'd be worth more now if he simply invested in an index tracking fund?

Its partially true. He would be worth roughly the same amount starting from the early 80s until today. As would anyone else who just put their money in the S&P and constantly reinvested all dividends.

I suppose the only difference is that the person who took the investment route wouldn't have The Don's profile and brand name, which is easily work $5000000 Billion, ahem....

We subjected every statement made by both the Republican and Democratic candidates – in speeches, in interviews and on Twitter – to our magazine’s rigorous fact-checking process. The conclusion is inescapable: Trump’s mishandling of facts and propensity for exaggeration so greatly exceed Clinton’s as to make the comparison almost ludicrous.

According to POLITICO’s five-day analysis Trump averaged about one falsehood every three minutes and 15 seconds over nearly five hours of remarks.

Oh, similar story here actually:
