2016 US Presidential Elections | Trump Wins

Not good for him. It's dominating the news cycles so far. When he has little media exposure to begin with, getting so much negative coverage isn't ideal.

no doubt about it. It is a massive gaffe. That said he stagnated at around 9-11% and wouldn´t have reached the debates (which is necessary if he wants to move forward). So he is already at the point where any coverage is better than nothing. Maybe he can use this to reach a wider audience, he just need to spin it the right way and stay in the media. Not that I actually believe that this is going to happen. I think that his “we are the reasonable nice guys” strategy was quite ill-informed anyway. You need to be a lot louder if you compete with Trump and Clinton for media coverage.

Somehow, I fear walking in many parts of many American cities, especially at night, more than I do North Korea, ISIS, BinWho? and a drastically reduced military. Let´s fix the fixable first.

How did that gazillion dollar over bloated military work on 9/11? In Iraq? In Afghanistan? I think we´re arguably worse off than before, especially financially.

Absolutely right. Some places are absolute shite holes. A city like Chicago has already had 2,949 shootings and over 500 dead this year so far.

This is no ordinary Election.Trump as turned it into a circus. And what would normally damage Johnson ,would probably have no effect now.

BinWho? Seriously?

Anyway, I get what you say...but those domestic crimes are not due to lack of spending. They are due to idiocies like 2nd Amendment/NRA/lack of gun control, racism towards African Americans etc....problems are will not be fixed by more money.

You had one job Gary. All you had to do was appear less slimy than Clinton and smarter than Trump and you still fail.

With Trump, one of the major factors into him being so popular, is simply because he communicates in a way where even a 5 year old could understand.

I do love Trump supporters though, it just sums up how fecking stupid some people are.
They just turn a blind eye to the complete mockery hes made of himself.

Yet throwing money at the military will alleviate pan international terrorism:lol:

Matt Lauer conducted probably one of the most inept "interviews" I have seen in my life, in terms of how horrifically uninformed and unprepared he was to even challenge Trump on the most basic of questions. Combine that with the fact that he did a 180 for his Clinton segment, talking about the email server for most of the interview and breezing over other topics.

fecking hell, this guy's career as a journalist should be over. Ridiculous that he went out there and gave that performance.

syrian_scholes:

For the first time in 70 years the biggest strike happened everywhere in Damascus(almost 80%) even the shops that were forced to open by security forces refused to sell anything to anyone, biggest protests in Damascus are happening this few days, and I feel we are going to solve our problems without any interventions.

When Syrian said that he was standing in the anteroom of Hell.

Maybe if the media mentioned his subpoena in a civil case where he is implicated the rape of a 13 year old as much as they have shoveled Clintons understanding of a c next to a paragraph in an email we could end this farce of a candidate.

To be fair the mainstream media tends to prefer stories that have a reasonable degree of factual accuracy, not suits that were dismissed in other jurisdictions for being dodgy as feck...seeing as shit like that could get them sued.

Matt Lauer is not a journalist, he is a talking head TV host.

Then NBC screwed up by giving him that assignment. What is wrong with NBC these days anyway? Their Olympics coverage was appalling and this was not much better.

Owned by Comcast (managed by republicans).

Paul Ryan runs it? Damn, I thought it was some bloke named Brian Roberts that has worked there since the 80s, and was on Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

I guess you learn something new everyday...

Read on Facebook someone said they were struggling on picking between one that wanted to ban Muslims and one that wanted to bomb them.

Bingo.

Mad the way people at both ends of the political spectrum constantly slate the "MSM" for concealing the truth from them, whilst constantly repeating and sharing blatant fiction that would never get published in a proper newspaper purely because it's a tissue of lies.

I've not been alive to see a summer Olympics not covered by NBC so I've always been left wondering what was so much better about ABC or CBS coverage before that.
I'm comparing to BBC. On BBC they typically show actual races instead of the last 5 yards on 4h tape delay after focusing on the life of a competitor.

Well look at them! I wish I could get them over here.

On the plus side, I ditched cable, so watched using the NBC sports Roku app. Allowed me to watch any event in full at any time of day.

There was no isis then man, we were on the brink of wining it, then ISIS came, all the good FSA leaders were targeted and killed, and now we are left with a bunch of criminals, with the regime still being the biggest criminal of course.

One thing with NBC they actually had coverage on a bunch of their other networks that was much better, showing entire events, far less studio talk time, etc.

It's a jobs program, 75% of the US military is a jobs program.

Larget employers in the world

Employees
Employer
2015[1] 2010[2][3] Headquarters
United States Department of Defense 3.2 million 3.2 million United States
People's Liberation Army 2.3 million 2.3 million China
Walmart 2.1 million 2.1 million United States
McDonald's[note 1] 1.9 million 1.7 million United States
National Health Service 1.7 million 1.4 million United Kingdom
China National Petroleum Corporation 1.6 million 1.7 million China
State Grid Corporation of China 1.5 million 1.6 million China
Indian Railways 1.4 million 1.4 million India
Indian Armed Forces 1.3 million 1.3 million India
Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) 1.3 million 0.8 million Taiwan[4]

Looking at military employment, the US has a million more employees than China, yet China has a population four times as big. And then you factor in two massive, ever lasting wars and all those off the book military adventures. Plus, we don´t even know how much is going to private contractors, housing benefits, free college education, sweet 20 year pensions, insurance and the V.A. hospital, and all the finances involved in 1/4 of the US homeless population being veterans because . . . supposedly the Pentagon cannot be audited. WTF? (and the other two biggest US employers are Walmart and McDonald´s, companies that don´t pay a living wage which must be made up by the tax payer in benefits and welfare).

Yet, we still have always have to fleece the tax payer on more defense spending, a bigger military presence . . . scare scare scare . . . and those bug eyed anti big gov and fiscal conservative right wingers can never get enough of big government defence.

Has to be one of the biggest repetitive financial scams of tax payers in the last 100 years.

Since I moved here and became re-accustomed with the prolificity of ads on US TV, and especially since Fox went to a commercial break right as the teams lined up and the tournament anthem started playing in the UCL final (!!!), my standard commentary to similar events has been (in Portuguese usually) "Americans don't respect anything... :nono:".

But to be fair to NBC and their tape-delayed, commercial break every 5 countries opening ceremony, they did go all out with the usage of their other networks as you said. I'm sure some channels that probably show celebrity gossip shows all day were showing table tennis for 6 hours straight.

No, the world has moved on. Russia is a paper tiger and China has become an economic animal. You and all the others justifying this massive, massive fleecing of American tax payers on military expenditures need to move on as well and get voted out of office. People need to stand up and say this. The problems in American inner cities and rural areas like West Virginia are far more pressing than this scarecrow Putin, ffs.

No one will invade the US. No one will invade Western Europe or Russia or China or Australia/NZ. No one will invade India. Don´t believe the hype.

Of course there will be local skirmishes in places like the Middle East, but they are cyclical as well and will work themselves out without the massive militaries of the super powers.

If nuclear bombs fly, what good is a huge military?
There is every chance that China will invade Japan though.

I'm stateside and can't (legally). Roku rules :) but I'm not a huge fan of streaming things like this. Often there are spoilers in the titles themselves like watch US sprint star win the 200m.

Sounds like the perfect time for a commercial to me. :p

Easy there... military was small pre-1940. More like past 25 years.

Yeah, there were two massive even bigger scams - imperial powers enriching themselves off the rest of the world and the massive exploitation of raw materials, all so they can . . . take these appropriated riches and go to unheard of world war against each other. Two of them. Brilliant. They had been pulling off the same thing for hundreds of years. The riches from Asia and the New World to be put back in endless warfare among themselves. WTF?
