At 17, if she agreed and campaigned for someone who opposed the Civil Rights Act, she can expect some criticism.
17 isnt that young.
Not sure that would wash in court.

I disagree. 17 is still young enough to where a person hasn't fully come to terms with their adult political equilibrium. I supported Bush (Dubya's dad) at 17 and swung towards Clinton when he took over, and haven't looked back since.

Well.. because I have free time.

Old enough.

I'm not saying she still believes that or thinks that way. Just that in my opinion, it is fair game to criticize her for that. She was old enough and it was a very important issue. If she, or anyone, gave it any thought and decided that opposing it would be the right thing to do, even if it was at 17, she can expect some backlash.

It's far from being a career ender. It is nothing that will damage her campaign.. obviously not.
But I dont understand people going the other way and criticizing people for bringing it up.

Like Revan said.. meh. move on. but still a valid point.

17 years old in 1964 is very different to 17 years old today. Especially considering her background.

exactly. she was always a political animal. she is tougher than Clinton. The banks and wall street must be rubbing their hands waiting for her to become president.

what we need to remember is, its not about the candidates. This election and every election is about the voters. And they have got the shit end of the stick over many decades. Because so far Special Interests have always won.

It obviously doesn't since he has endorsed her to be President of the United States, which sort of undercuts this entire narrative.

Speaks loads if anything, about John Lewis.

But the bigger picture is once again, Bernie Sanders showing himself on the spot on side of of the major issues of our day before his opponents, throughout recent history, whether it be civil rights, economic corruption and collapse, income inequality, invading Iraq . . . and possibly more than anything else, ecology and global warming. Maybe we should be listening more to this man, as opposed to the tired "communist" and "socialist" slurs.

That's a bit harsh isn't it?

I read some excerpts about Hillary clinton. By all accounts, she was a Republican till she saw Nixon's campaign and left the party. By her own words, she was affected by MLK's death. Being born in Brooklyn in an immigrant family (Sanders) leads you to have a different outlook than a relatively successful conservative family in Chicago in the 60's.

But you do make it about the candidate. You said you'd vote for Trump because you hate Hillary Clinton.

Jesus christ, people are seriously judging someone on their political views as a 17-year-old. I thought Plato had good arguments against democracy when I was 17 ffs.

Shows the lunacy that the Sanders types are resorting to these days. Borderline Ted Cruz stuff.

. . . or does it say more about those who don´t like Sanders? Borderline Cruz stuff is calling Bernie a "communist." Actually not even borderline, that´s exactly what Cruz says, as does Trimp.

He took one on the chin from John Lewis, and this was a brilliant response.

Yeah, blaming Hillary for that is dumb. Sanders being part of those protests is cool tho - he was also quite handsome, better looking than Hillary imho.

Entrance polls reportedly looking good for Sanders, though maybe not always wise to read too much into them. I do have a feeling though that Sanders'll edge it.

Fox says 54% for Sanders and 43% for Clinton, with Sanders winning the Latino vote.

I would be very surprised (and happy) if that is the case, but I doubt it.

Apparently this is based off only a few hundred interviews, so yeah, disregard for the moment.

Fox are Republicans. They have been targeting Hillary for a long time and it seems that they prefer Bern to win (despite that in all polls he seems to be doing better than Hillary against any Reublican candidate). I think it is bullshit, although a two digit win of Bernie might be a gamechanger.

I said I would vote for Trump because he does not take money from Special Interests and he may well be more liberal than he lets on. And importantly he would be able to actually govern with a Republican congress. Hillary already gives up. It is in the end about voters not the candidates. So I stand by what I said.

1/3 of vote in, Hillary up by 4 points. Still tight as a nun's chuff.

Sorry, you are all over the place.

2.9 points no? Once again, this is more exciting than watching this years football!
Only just got the actual live results up, at 3.27 now! Looks alright for Hillary based on Clark County numbers.

She's starting pulling away a little now. Rumours that she's picked up big margins at some of the larger meets at the casinos as well.

Funnily enough, the Guardian seem to be quicker than any of the American sites. I wondered were they as accurate earlier but CNN is following them vote for vote, only 5 minutes or so behind.

Won Caesar's 190-81!

That's a landslide.

At the halfway point:

Clinton: 51.8%
Sanders: 48.2%

50.9% Reporting

What does this mean for the race? Once again, I can't remember what the polls for this state were a couple of weeks ago :D

Hillary was miles ahead a few weeks ago. I saw prediction polls that had her at 85%+ probable to take both Nevada and SC. She was supposed to have the Latino vote in the bag as well but it sounds like Bernie has done very well there.
