2015 Bosman players

The standouts are Chiellini, Rabiot, Marcelo and Suso.

Wonder if Suso would join us. Rodgers doesn't rate for whatever reason but he's looked superb any time I've watched him. Rabiot would be a very good signing and another left footer to add to our growng collection.

Edit - All of them are left footers.

You think LvG favours Rojo over Jones? As if we bring in a top CB no matter which foot they favour, one becomes a back-up.

LVG doesn't see CB as one position. He sees it as two: LCB and RCB which means that Rojo is not competing with Jones, Evans and Smalling for the same position. What I am saying is that I'm not convinced LVG would bring in a 31 year old centreback who you would assume would demand a starting position when he seems to have faith in Rojo who is 6 years his junior.

I think depending on who is availiable and how their fitness record goes between now and July, we're likely to be letting either Smalling or/and Evans go and bringing in a top quality RCB.

Surprised so many going for De Jong. For free he would be great but I always thought a lot of people on here hated him.

Would be good to get someone in our midfield who can 'feck shit up'. Like what we expect of Fellaini, but without being all Fellaini about it.

Haha yeah, someone to play the 'Fellaini' role without actually being Fellaini, that would be ideal. Seriously though isn't De Jong pushing 30 (or over)? Blind, Carrick and a new signing like Strootman is more than enough in that area of the pitch IMO.

On that list i would sign Khedira, Ayew and M'Vila(as a gamble).

M'Vila has not been very good for a while and he's trouble.

That's what I'm saying though, if we bring in a top RCB then Jones will be in the position Rojo would be in if we brought in Chiellini. I'm just wondering if LvG sees Jones and Rojo as the future partnership and therefore wont bring in proven quality at RCB or LCB, instead bringing in a journeyman or trusting the juice.

Oh I see what you're saying. The way I see it is that as good a player as Jones is, he can have no complaints about us bringing in someone to play in his position as his injury record is so bad. If he's fit he'll have competition, no harm in that.

I know but he can be so good, unfortunately he is so dumb.
From one of the most promising French young midfielders and a potential Arsenal star through QPR target to a Rubin Kazan player being loaned out (admittedly to a decent Inter team).

I'd be happy to take Khedira, Marcelo and Chiellini from that list.

Whilst extending Carrick's contract, obviously.

I'd take Chiellini in a heartbeat, experienced and still got a good few years left in him, the ideal Vidic replacement.

I wouldn't mind us going for De Jong and Concrete. Rabiot looks quality too, worth a look for sure.

That's a fair point, Rojo and Blackett have room to cement their places as the LCB options but the 3 crocks at RCB have no claim to the spot so you are probably right, it will probably be a RCB we bring in if LvG chooses to buy one.

1. Kramer does make a fair amount of sense, though only if we don't sign Strootman.

2. Vlaar I could see just because our defenders have gotten hurt so much. This might depend on what LVG thinks of Smalling and Evans as Jones' backup at RCB.

3. Chiellini and Rojo would give us two good LCB's, but I doubt it happens. If anything I could see him going to Madrid to replace Pepe, but he'll probably just stay.

4. Yarmolenko/Konoplyanka are different wingers, but considering they're 24 and are decent footballers, they make some sense as competition for Januzaj on the right-wing and cover for Di Maria out left. Lots of other options here, too. It's also (sadly possible) we just keep one or both of Young and Valencia as wide cover. I had Zaha earmarked for this spot, but at this rate he looks like he'll need still another year on loan. He's signed until after the 17-18 season, so we could loan him out again next year (15-16) and still be able to bring him back with 2 years to go on his deal, which is tight but still a bit of time to see whether or not he is to be kept or sold.

So, yeah, I think we should take a serious look at Kramer as the CM we badly need, since he can backup Blind and Herrera and play with them in tougher games, too. And Vlaar coming in with Smalling leaving wouldn't shock me, though it's a bit-short term in direction. But we clearly need a veteran defensive leader of some kind and maybe if we strike out on Hummels/Pique/Miranda we will settle for a free Vlaar. Maybe more likely to happen in the summer, though.

played 33 games in la-liga last year and from what im told by liverpool fans looked ok and he was recalled to the squad for this year - but so far I dont think he has played (possibly in the league cup? but I dont think in the league) - I would guess with Coutinho and Lallana in the squad he would possibly be looking to move on (back to spain?) to get some games - he has 5 U21 caps and captained the U20 side so he seems to be developing well if thats anything to go by - but he will now be at the stage that he wont develop sitting in the stands and playing reserve football

I've heard that Suso is AC Milan bound. Also got many assists last year in Spain.

I've never seen him play, but will Rabiot turn into another Strootman? We don't show any interest when he's available for cheap and buy him when his stock has risen exponentially.

He looks a talent alright though I'm not entirely sure what his best position is.

Am I the only one who doesn't really rate Marcelo. He is really gash defensively and tbh I would rather have Coentrao ahead of him. Marcelo is excellent offensively but as a full-back for me, defense comes first and then offense provided you are not Barcelona that is. He would be great as a wing-back in a 3-5-2 but as of now I'm happy with Shaw and no way will Marcelo come here as a back-up to a 19 year old.

Really? I think it's the other way around for me. Get rid of smalling and have Evans, jones, McNair at RCB (if McNair continues to look promising this year) and chiellini or another lcb and Rojo, and Blackett (if blacker continues to look promising) at lcb.

Gives us a young, club-developed player at each position and one on either side who can deputies at fullback in a crunch.

I know jones has had his injury issues but I think he has the most potential. Smalling' time should be up if he doesn't show strong improvement soon.

Personally I'd get shot of Evans and Smalling, with Rojo, Blackett and even Blind all able to play LCB if needed. Then have Jones, McNair and another RCB for the other side.

He isn't available on a free anyway, his contract with Rubin runs till 2017.
What I expected really as stated in my previous post, he only signed for them in 2013.

Swap deal for Vlaar and Cleverley in January? Cleverley really fecked us over in not joining Villa on a permanent deal.

Surprising to see Suso and sergi Roberts there? Aren't they both highly rated?

Also the hell happened to past caf favorite m'villa?

Racist.

Thats because the list is not updated. Sergi Roberto renewed his contract 2 weeks ago until 2019, so I wouldn't be surprised if other names on the list have already renewed as well. FWIW I don't rate him that highly and think he will leave the club within the next 2 years tops.

I'm pretty sure that Sergi Roberto renewed recently.

Out of the bunch, I'd like Chiellini, Khedira (seems unlikely) and Vlaar.
