2013 Golf Majors

McIlroy making a hole of this round.

Unless Tiger picks up a couple of shots today I don't think he'll be in contention tomorrow. Day looks to be really unfussy and effective at the moment.

The course has become hard since morning, I think the leader today might be 4 under par. Look, couples is going backwards now. Day will get his share soon

Very steady play from Snedeker today so far. Nine pars in a row and now out onto the back nine where birdies opportunities are more plentiful. He's bang in with a shout still.

I really can't believe the Tiger 3 putt at 11. He still isn't quite on it. At least he followed it up with a bird. Another one necessary on the next.

At the moment I'm seeing the winner from:

Day
Rose (if he pulls his finger out - home more than expectation)
Woods
Kuchar
Dufner
Snedeker
Scott

The others up there I see fading, or at least not keeping their current level up.

Don't count Angel out, he eats masters for lunch.

I had a feeling that Jason Day would do well here this year.

Tiger needs to pick up a few shots in the final few holes to make this interesting.

Every putt Cabrera strikes is finding the hole. It's not possible to keep that up, not least on greens as treacherous as Augusta. He'll level out in the next five or six holes alá Dustin Johnson yesterday.

Kuchar and Stricker are huge dangers loitering where they are. It's shaping up to be a fantastic weekend.

Matt Kuchar always seems in and around the leaders in these majors. But never comes close enough to winning.

I that is what I was saying a couple of years ago, but he kept on making those putts.

Absolutely gutted with Westwood and Rose. Distinctly average rounds don't win majors, and they've both been average. Poor infact. Rose +2, Westwood ***. The shots were there for the taking, but the putting has let them both down. Best I can hope for is a good performance and a place tomorrow.

Ahh, Cabrera so unlucky with his third there.

Come on Snedeker. Consistent all 3 rounds so far.

His first two rounds were a little up and down, but that was to be expected as he was coming back from injury. He's been different class today though. If he plays like this tomorrow, he's our winner.

I have Day and Snedeker backed, I'm just hoping one of them holds on now!

Tiger has had some awful luck this week. If he hadn't hit the stick on 15 Friday and the eagle putt on 13 had dropped today instead of that ridiculous lip out -- both things which can't happen more than once out of 500 tries -- he could conceivably be in the clubhouse right now at -8 at minimum, possibly even -9 with the tournament in his hands. As it is, you figure he needs at least a 66 tomorrow to even have a chance.

True but he still finished under par on both days didn't he?

Snedeker is on the verge of becoming one of golf's elite. After tomorrow he has a chance to, in 7 months, have won the Tour Championship, FedEx Cup, AT&T at Pebble Beach and the Masters with three top-3's in between.

He was arguably the best player in the world over the past six months prior to his injury. He was consistency personified.

That bastard shouting 'ridonkulous' at every tee shot on the 18th is pissing me off. Must be so annoying to stand next to him.
