2009 Baseball Season

I wouldn't be surprised if Posada gets suspended after his role in that handbag moment last night

He should he was an idiot for that. I'm glad Shelley Duncan was called up he always good to have on your team in a brawl.

4 game ban & $3k fine for Posada, 3 game ban & undisclosed fine for Carlson

Credit to Jeter, from one true professional to another the record will go. From one heart of the Yankees to another. From one legend to another.

ESPN is renaming ALS to Derek Jeter Disease.

All jokes aside, congratulations to Jeter. A one-team man is rare in this day and age in any professional sport, and he's still playing at the very top level.

Just back from watching the Jays tonight, comfortable win for us. Orioles couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, which was good considering it was David Purcey pitching for us tonight who doesn't have much of a habit of getting wins.

Yankee's 4-2 down to the Angels currently, looks an entertaining game!

Not only was our loss last night tough last night because it appears Tim Wakefield is done, but the Yankees loss means a win by us, and we could be within reaching distance for the DIVISION TITLE.

The Yankees are kind of limping in by their high standards, and with 3 games against them coming up we could have made a run.

Now it looks like with Dice-K looking at least adequite, Lester, Beckett, Dice-K and Buchholz will be the playoff 4.

A shame, because at the all-star break some would put Wakefield into Cy Young consideration... the wheels fell off for his brittle brittle body... such a shame.

Ouch that has to hurt Lester just got hit in the leg that is the last thing you want to see as a fan before October. I do hope hes ok

Roy Halladay with another masterclass, in what could have been his last game at home for the Jays.

Yankee's look comfortable against the bosox

Good news for Jon Lester, x-rays were negative and he has a contusion on his quad, which is the area right above the knee.

For about 2 1/2 hours my world was shattered... any small glimmer of hope we have making a run at out third title this lifetime nearly went up in smoke.

Shut him down Tito, we need him in October !!!

Atlanta Braves now shockingly only 2.5 games back of the Colorado Rockies in the NL Wild Card Race with 7 games left for Colorado and 8 for the Braves. We'll need to win 6 of 8 at the very least to force a playoff. Stay tuned...

Kind of wish San Fran kept in it, could be a CRAZY exciting race to the finish.

Yea, San Fran and Florida have fallen off lately. We just pulled off an extra inning win to pull within two games. If the score holds up in Colorado, it'll be 1.5 with a week to go. If we do pull this off, no one in the NL will want to face our starting pitching. That much is certain.

Yankees win AL east

Also tie the Sox for 9-9 for the season considering we were 8-0 down at one point.

Pretty disgusted to find on my return to England that they've stopped broadcasting it on the domestic channels. Used to be 2 games a week, Weds and Sun. Is available if you subscribe to ESPN, might do that at some point in the future, but not now, they want a silly amount for it

Yep I was gutted, then I realised I can buy MLB.tv for about £75 for every single game this season in HD :D Money well worth spending if your into baseball, you can watch full games or highlights any time of the day.

Yeah I was pissed at that aswell I do miss Jonny and Josh on Five.

Three more outs to go in Atlanta to cut the Wild Card deficit to two games with six to play...

What a push by the Braves.

The Jays are hitting the BoSox for fun tonight

It's embarassing, to be frank.

We still have to clinch for feck sakes... yeah I know, magic number is down to a result now, but there's no need to play such marginal players when a playoff spot still needs to be locked up.

We got alot of players who will be on our playoff roster who need a confidence boost... pitching Michal Bowden and those others in relief was an awful choice.

The Yankees are 87-41 since AROID came back

ARod really has had a pretty fantastic season considering he missed about 30 games or so. What's really good about him is that his presence means that Teixiera can't be pitched around. And when that happens, our lineup is just absurd.

Quite the surprise Damon's had such a monster year during his contract year.

I thought tonight would be a different story to be honest, 6-2 to the Jays at the moment

Wow, what a game that was. Crazy last couple of innings. I thought we would choke it right at the end!

Jays up 5-0 at the 4th. Where are you Anderson Searl? Its not often i get bragging rights on baseball

Halladay was fecking awesome last night, pitched the full game & only 3 hits. The offense was hitting for fun as well, i think we're Septembers leading home run scorers in the Major League!
