Ángel Di María | Transferred to PSG

I know that people hate Duncan Castles but he is very close to Mendes and he had said it long back that ADM will leave with United making a big loss.

I also doubt getting sent off for literally nothing against Arsenal did his love for England much good.
Come on now, he clearly grabbed the ref in a aggressive manner. It was not for nothing, it was shear stupidity.

Like Pogba hes completely disrespected the manager by failing to show up for pre-season while engineering a move away. At least DDG, while eyeing a move, has acted like a professional - is that so much to ask for?!

To be fair, he's a cnut. Earning 200k a week and not looking arsed for the majority of the season. Sorry but I can't make any excuses for him. He should've taken a massive pay cut and stayed at Real. Or something. Now, let's see of us can be disinterested at work...and still collect a wage. Seems to be different rules for players who are worshipped by fans....
If anything he seemed too worried about proving people wrong, hampering his performance. Too often he was going for shots and crosses from long distance in hopes of getting a goal or an assist in situations where he rather should've passed the ball.

Can't wait to hear what LvG has to say about Di Maria's stay here though. I wonder if he'll take any responsibility for it not working out.

Please no more argentinian for United. We're like a magnet for their cnuts.

You think he was aggressive? In that case...I'd hate to see what you would do if someone actually acted truly aggressive towards you.

Fans like players putting in a shift. Falcao was awful but most couldn't help but like him because he tried his best. In fact I hope he does well at Chelsea. Di Maria, though, didn't seem too arsed.

I agree. Also the way he is acting now makes things even worse. I couldn't give two shits about rat face anymore. Get Pedro signed instead of him and be done with that chapter.

Which was strange.

As under Jose at Madrid he ran up and down a lot. He was a bit like their Ashley Young but with a better end product. Even when Ancelotti moved him he was non stop running.

With us he thought that he was the main man like Ronaldo was and had to shoot from every silly position.

Hope he gets the shit booed out of him when he comes back to Old Trafford.

And I hope we finally get a number 7 worthy of the shirt next.

I'm just disappointed this hasn't worked out. The sad part is that it's pretty clear when you see him play for Argentina it's not a case of him having lost his talent but just for whatever reason is not happy here and struggling to express that talent for us.

His antics of the last week will be the overriding memory for me unfortunately.

I don't think he wanted to come here in the first place. He likely wanted to join PSG last year but the move never materialized. Obviously the fear having his home broken into while he and his wife and kid were at home would provide ample reason for a family to move away.

Why would he come back to OT if he's moving on ?

If we get PSG in the Champions League?

Hopefully not.

He's a coward who, despite being paid extremely handsomely, never looked like he was really trying. And then has the audacity to go AWOL when he should be doing what he gets paid for?
And I wouldn't be at all surprised if he exaggerated/faked injuries while he was here. That injury v Hull at the end of the season, not buying it.

Disappointed it hasn't worked out. He could have been a Man Utd favourite because he is so talented, but I guess with the break in, he just didn't settle properly. Having said that, I really wanted him to have another go and think it was utterly ridiculous not turning up on tour and it doesn't say much for him as a character. Can't wish him the best of luck at PSG.

Was it your money he took? He was dropped by Van Gaal when the performances dipped so the manager did his bit. Even for Argentina he's been poor so it's not just for United. I highly doubt he'll hit the ground running with PSG, I'd almost bank on it being a while before he improves.

But why would you hope he gets booed out the stadium? What the hell does that achieve?

He may well be a 'coward' but plenty of them have played for United before and will do in future. The question is how to use them correctly (because you know, on his day, Di Maria is insanely talented with the ball at his feet).

OFC it was in a aggressive manner. In the streets if someone grabbed you like that you would have decked them, since it was during a GAME the ref had no choice but to send him off.

We have been on the bad end of some ref decisions regarding sending off our player (Nani vs Real for one) but that one against ADM? Correct decision all day long

Well at least I know the level of what I'm dealing with here...

I agree there is nothing more frustrating than a player not putting in a shift when things aren't going his way, but you have to realise he came from being an integral part of a well drilled world class team to being played wherever he was needed for a disorganized United side.

What pisses me off is that we spent £60m on a player that everyone, but LvG, knew was not a fit for his philosophy in the first place. He's too direct. Expecting Di Maria to adapt without being played regularly in one position, in a new league was unrealistic.

Yes it was my money. I spend money to watch United, I pay for Sky, I buy some official merchandise here and there.

Not that I need to spend money to expect a player who plays for my club to actually look arsed.

And we'll see about him at PSG. I actually think he will do very well there, he's playing for the best team in a shite league.

You know the only times Ive ever wanted to boo an ex United player were Tevez and Heinze. For obvious reasons I'd imagine. Di Maria fits the bill for me, used our club for a year, but the part that's pushed me over the edge is him just not turning up on tour. Completely unprofessional and I don't know why he wouldn't be fined wages for it tbh.

But it shows massive disrespect to the fans who supported him all year. The way he's treated our team has angered me if Im honest, and he should know how we feel about him.

Fwiw I don't think he will get booed, or if he does it'll be a minority.

I felt last summer that LVG didn't have much to do with that signing. As for his philosophy, to be fair, ADM could've given us a different dimension. Bale could offer us something similar but with loads more industry.

And your edit, how many players have United had that have gone AWOL? It's not so much his cowardly play and fear of being tackled. I knew that about him before he came.

It's more just his refusal to fight to be a success. He's taking a very easy option by going to the French League at this stage in his career.

And yes I agree he is extremely talented with the ball at his feet. It's why we were all so excited when he signed and a reason why I thought we had a candidate to be the best attacking player in the Prem.

That's the one inconsistency that was quickly clear for everyone to see. He is quite direct and improvisational, which seems a bit counterintuitive to LvG's lethargic, possession obsessed approach.

This maybe unpopular, but I feel that his exit maybe a mutual decision between the club and player, rather than him forcing it.

He's a world class player on his day but he is a fecking cnut. I'm glad he's moved on now, he's wanted to move since he joined. He was flirting with PSG since he came. He never wanted to play for us, nobody will convince me otherwise. We were simply a make do option for him when PSG couldn't pay the fee last year because of FFP. We gave him the number 7 jersey, broke our transfer record and paid big money on wages. An awful professional who disrespected the club to an almost embarrassing level. People feeling what could have been need to wake up. Angel didn't want to play for United and never was a team player with us. He was kept out by Ashley Young, a player of much lesser ability but had much more hunger and fight. We need people who want to come here, show character, mental strength and who plays for his team mates. Di Maria had none of these things. He would come on and give the ball away and disrupt our shape. I hope the next person who comes wants to be here. We deserved better and hopefully soon we can restore some pride into that number 7 jersey, it's been a while since we had a true number 7.

Knowing LVG he will play him as a wing back.

I really dont understand him sometimes. Maybe the best is to get rid of him.

What's not to understand? He has his methods, which are obviously counterintuitive to what the internet thinks. Best to deal and kick on with the season.

Highly inexperienced of you. You should've noticed the extra line of space after his last sentence.

But he doesnt grasp 90 percent of things which are obvious to us.

Hint: Blacken my first post. ;)

We essentially bought a mercenary and are now angry that he is acting like one. Either way he is a cnut and it's best for everyone if he leaves. Hopefully we can get someone decent enough in to replace him. At the minute, we seem to be undoing all of our early good work by not signing a CB, messing around with Di Maria and not buying another attacker. Worrying....

Would you grab your boss like that?

Is the ref Di Maria's boss in that instance? He's not.

I'd prefer if the refs were not touched in any manner quite frankly but the truth is they are frequently without any punishment (see Joe Hart's incident or Sterling on Howard Webb).

I don't think Paris is safer than Manchester though.

He's in a position of respect. A more accurate example: would you touch a judge like that? And also, two wrongs do not make a right. It pisses me off when players disrespect the ref like that. Going up to his face is one thing but touching and pulling is something else.

Wanted him to stay and prove himself but doesn't look like he wants to fight for a spot at United. With the way things have turned out I'm not upset about him moving on. I don't wish him ill but I would laugh pretty hard if we twatted PSG in the CL and AdM was planted firmly on his ass a couple of times in the process.
