His willingness to wave a white flag when things go wrong remings me of @DatIrishFella on Fifa.
How much did we actually pay for ADM? I know the total was £59.7m but was that straight up cash or depending on Bonus payments if targets are met by the player? Seems the money being offered to us might not be so bad if Real Madrid lose out on a few £££ themselves.
ThanksI'm sure we paid £59.7m and then there were to be addons to make the price slightly higher than £60m.
I was waiting for someone to say this. It has been said in older post but I do think he was impacted by that and so was his family. The over the top vitriol on this player is to much. It's a game and he he thinks that life will be better in France for him and his family then let's part ways with him and to it with class.
Why the club? We bought a world class player at the time and it showed intent. Just because Di Maria wants to leave and be a pussy about everything has nothing to do with the club at all.If we do end up selling him after just 1 season I'll be disappointed with us as a club just as much as I'll be disappointed with him.
It's a joke. PSG are clearly desperate to sign him yet we're selling him at a significant loss. He might want to leave but he's under contract and he's one of the best players in the world, we should be getting our money back on him.Really starting to get pissed off with our utter shiteness at selling players! We're like a charity shop! Look at Chelsea selling Felipe Luis and only making a 500k lose!

This. It's not about France, it's about hundreds of thousands of people who fought in the resistance, who supported the armies and protected jews, French laugh about everything but here it's a stupid statement that is widely used on the internet.

Bullshit, what it is though is the perfect excuse.I was waiting for someone to say this. It has been said in older post but I do think he was impacted by that and so was his family. A friend of mine was burgled, and he used to tell me that he found it very hard going back home knowing that his families privacy had been invaded.
I think people are severely underestimating the impact that incident had on his family.
Don't want to get into the deep stuff, but they are two very different things...
Both adversity, sure. But losing a mother who has likely supported you and been there for you as you developed into a great footballer is much more something that is likely to galvanise you - "doing it for her" type of situation. Burglary is very different.
Anyway like I said rather not get into it.
In principle I agree that regardless of burglary, the attitude just wasn't there and that particularly disappoints me more than anything.
Very different scenarios though. Feeling safe and mourning are two very different things but I get where you're coming from. I wouldn't be surprised if adm's wife insisted on this move to psg.
Agree with the above posters. PSG are so desperate to get him, they have the money, di Maria (reportedly) wants out, we (seemingly) don't want to sell. Why on earth would we accept the (rumoured) amount?
We got burgled when I was at high school which is over 20 years ago and I can tell you it effects you very much and although I've moved out of that house it still effects me to this day!A friend of mine was burgled, and he used to tell me that he found it very hard going back home knowing that his families privacy had been invaded.

He wasn't burgled though. Does anyone know the extent of the 'attempt'?
I think, and have all along, that that was mainly a smoke screen to take the pressure off when his form fell off so dramatically after a half decent start.
I don't know why people are moaning about the price.
We overpaid for him by a good 25m. Following that he's had a season where he's mostly been shite and found himself out of favour. And the player himself wants to leave. We should count ourselves lucky that we're getting 45 and run away with it.
"A number of offenders tried to gain access to the property by trying to smash the back door."
"The alarm was raised before the men got inside and they fled the scene."
Still would be quite frightening to have a number of men attempting to break down your back door?
The burglary happening in February, his form dropped off after his sending off. It was more to do with confidence and lack of game time than the attempted burglary incident.

His form definitely went before then. Never recovered from his injury around about November time.

WhoooooooooshSo, I'm assuming you'd be absolutely fine if a group of men attempted to break into your house?

Totally agree. We got burgled and my wife wouldn't stay in the house. We sold and then bought an apartment on the 10th floor. Different people react differently. Even the move to the USA it was made clear get a condo not a house.A friend of mine was burgled, and he used to tell me that he found it very hard going back home knowing that his families privacy had been invaded.
