I don´t remember Van Gaal sitting to talk about De Gea in the middle of June. In fact he had to go to the preseason. And Levy before United also did the same with Modric and Bale, even when everybody knew that the transfer would happen.
If Madrid buy Mbappé tomorrow then it would be great to sell Morata the day after, but why now. What if Morata scores in the SuperCup?.
MaxiPaxi, I think that right now Morata is the top target, they won´t step back for some extra time or millions. If Juve pay 90 the richest club in the world can pay it too

You mean Madrid already scared? Is it?

Why so upset? We are desperate. They are the biggest and bestest in the world and fresh from having won two CL's back to back, they can ask whatever they want for their players and if we don't like it we can move it but we obviously won't so they are in a position of power whilst we await the Royal spanish bukkake finish. they win in the end and get what they want.

Deal with it and enjoy the player.

A trophy is always a trophy :)
I thought real Madrid have the best player in the world with the treadmark united blood stamp on it like numerous in the past and they try to beat any opposition in front of them with him. Would be surprised to see them jittering about haunted past of their academy player scoring against them an stuck in that.

Yes, I´ve been always a wimp . That´s the confidence and how much I rate Morata

If Real makes this impossible then I think we should go after Mbappe. They want Mbappe? Fine, we want Morata. Now give him to us at a reasonable fee. 90 million is pure insanity.

Don't think that tactic will work. Mbappe wants Madrid, not United. We'd just lose out on both going that route. Madrid also don't need to buy Mbappe in this window unlike United, who do need a top talent striker right now. Time is on Real's side. They have no reason to sell Morata right now and can wait to raise funds for Mbappe next summer.

From Madrid's perspective, they know how bad we need a striker and they also know how limited the selection is at the level we need. In addition, Inter want whatever it is, £80m-90m for Bellotti. It's reasonable for Real to ask for more, based on those facts. Morata will need to push a bit in order to get this deal done at a lesser price. Real is trying to also manage their fan sentiment, through the media, like they always do. So it's also highly possible they take the offer that's on the table as is. But they have to appear to be squeezing us for every last penny for appearances sake.

In the end, United won't let Morata get away for a few million more £. Real also know this.

How much confident are you?

Performances relative incentives?

About the deal ? It will go our way, I'm sure of it. The price will still be considered overpayment whatever it's tbh but any striker will cost even more. He can actually be cheaper than Lukaku and Belotti LOL.

The player himself will be a great fit for Jose style and has the potential to be here long term. I preferred him to all other options and I'm sure he'll surprise many here.

It's out of reals hands to make it impossible.

80 mil. for a player who's never been a starter is nuts. It's obvious Real Madrid is intent on keeping him.
I'd prefer to play Rashford and Martial up front than get skinned by these maggots anyhow. What I'd really like is a couple of dynamic flankers, especially one for the right hand side, that can take on defenders and beat them, provide nice accurate passes into the box and score some great goals. I'd like some wingers who get on their bikes and join the attack, not ones that will just stand on their heels and watch as Rashford and Martial run themselves into dead ends.
Anyway that's what I really want.
I also think Morata is not the only CF out there who could help us.

It seems the only people that dont want Morata at the club are posters on the caf. Madrid and Juventus fans love him, he is wanted by top managers, opponent fans think he'll be a success if given the chance to be the main man.

Morata or Belotti for £70m, Lukaku, Kane or Mbappe for £100m+, just get it over the line so we can have a proper striker at the club.

More appropriately, its CAF posters who don't know much about him or don't think he's sexy enough a name we should be buying.

So basically we wanted Griezmann for 100m euros and the guy was one of top 3 players in the world just last year. That doesn't happen so what we do? We pay 90m euros for a player who will be 25 in like 3 months and has NEVER been a starter on his whole career. Great business:cool:

I think it's more that his finishing is just quite good instead of brilliant. He has some great qualities but is not as natural a finisher as any of the other forwards we've been linked with or might be available.
Belotti
Lukaku
Mbappe
Aubemyang
Greizmann
These are all more prolific strikers and more natural finishers and for that reason I would prefer any of them to Morata.

Saying that, if he does sign for us, I'll be excited to see what he can do and get right behind him. I trust the managers judgement.

The thing is Morata has yet to have a manager make him the main man, to tell him he is the teams first choice #9 and really show faith in him, I really think we have the right conditions for him to thrive and at 24 he should still have his best years ahead him.

I'm not quite sure of your point here. Griezmann will be 27 in 9 months...

I will be 28 in 5 months
The Queen has a whole 10 months before she's 92.

You conveniently left off the bit that he plays in a team with Ronaldo, Benzema, and Bale.

We aren't paying 90 m

Wait? So now footballers are almost finished at 25 years old? Jesus.

Bale was injured most of the season and Benzema had the worst season of his career. He could push himself more into the first team but anyway... . A season before that he was in Juve, let's say Dybala is the main forward he had to compete with Mandzukic for the other spot and Mandzukic srarted more games than him. Now, Mandzukic is a good player but he's not a great goal scorer, you can always put yourself ahead of him. A season before that again he was in Juve, let's say Tevez was the main forward he had to compete with Llorente for the other spot and Llorente started more games than him. Now again you can put yourself ahead of Llorente as well. He's better than Llorente in general I'm not comparing.

He's good player. He would be perfect in Fergie days when we had 4 strikers and we played with 2 forwards and we rotated them so all of them could play a lot of games. Basically his role in Juve. But 70, 80, 90 millions for him is just too much. He's going to lead our front line for titles but he's not on that level. We're paying a world class fee for a player who is not world class.

The only good thing about him is that I believe he will match Rashford, Mkhi and Martial much better than Zlatan. So may not have the individual effect of Zlatan but if we play all of them right we might have a better team. But again that kind of money is too much.

Yeah but try telling that to anyone in 2017.
We live in a kind of punk era of transfer fees, there's no tariff for prices that we can all refer to, the thing has gone fecking mad.

I don't care about his lack of appearances for Madrid. He looks like a top all around striker to me.

The money suggested is silly but wanting a striker like him is not. I think he'd do very well at United and in the PL in particular.

Does seem to be what Real want for Morata, Higuain to Juventus being the yardstick.

We could use abamyang as a yard stick. While higuain was a first team starter from a direct league rival and a proven Exp goal scorer.

The annoying thing is that if/when this transfer collapses they'll end up selling him next season for 40m euros to some Italian team.

I'm surprised there's been no reporting at all about Morata's buyout clause. Isn't it Spanish law that every player must have one? I'm assuming it's into 3 figures if it's never been mentioned as a possible solution.
