If we really wanted Hazard that badly, then we'd have paid 6m as agent fees. Same goes for Sneijder. We've refused to overpay for the players before.

Our planning has been awful but let's not rewrite history. Can't believe that after 3 years of continuous moaning about our transfer dealings on the caf, some people are rewriting history.

I think it's a massive mistake to let Arsenal sign Ozil. Hard enough with City and Chelsea but a potential 3rd title challenger in Arsenal wouldn't be good for us at all.

Signing Ozil won't solve their problems, it's an awesome buy but still not title challengers.

Oh calm down, it's not the end of the world! We will sign Fellaini and all will be good.

I think Woodward and co have fecked over Moyes a bit, the manager panicks and wants a good midfielder in quickly, he asks Fergie's opinion (the one who was at the helm when we reportedly enquired about him twice in the past years) and here we are, bidding for Herrara four days before the window closes.

No excuse. They went for Fabregas and wasted 2/3 weeks with idiotic bids. It's a problem of their own making.

It's a bit sad if we come out second best to frickin arsenal!

All is fair. You took their best player last summer and ran away with the title. I'm glad to see they're getting some quality back in. For the past few summers it's been horrible for their fans. They deserve something to smile about for their money.

Amazing signing for Arsenal if it does go through... he'll easily be one of the best 5 players in the league, and will probably be one of the players of the season.

Arsenal have agreed a 50m euros deal with Real Madrid to sign Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil.
"The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms and will now undergo a medical.
"The medical will take place in Germany, where Ozil is on international duty."

Christ, even Wenger is outspending us.

Would be an absolute blockbuster signing for Arsenal if they can somehow make it happen, even if he costs a lot. Better than all the players Chelsea and City have been signing all summer in similar positions and for large amounts of money

Good signing for Arsenal, all be it a rather expensive one. Didn't Real sign him for like £18m or something? Making a pretty penny there.

We have more pressing matters than signing a player who plays in a position that we're quite comfortably stocked in.

feck this shit if Ozil to Arsenal is done. Last year we didn't "need" Van Persie also. Look how it turned out... People still saying we don't "need" one of the most creative, if not the most, player in the world. feck. THIS. SHIT.

Ozil would be great for Arse, but I'd look to strengthen their defense and add a quality striker, if they're finally ready to spend some money.

Great buy for Arsenal and it appears they are the next club in England to have joined the new era of high fees. We're left behind with our £25m bids for Fabregas in the meantime.

Absolutely, the problem is it doesn't look like we're signing anyone, except maybe Fellaini.

Wow, good for arsenal. Wenger added the correct player to his squad, well played.

Although I'm relatively disappointed as well, after reading this post can't help but...:lol:

Fergie in public balked at the actual fee for Hazard as well as his wages. The agents fee was the icing on the cake.

There is a borderline in terms of what you would think is a good signing for United," he said.
"I see some values on players, like Hazard for instance. To me it was a lot of money. He's a good player, but £34m?
"What we're finding anyway, the climate for buying these top players - not just the transfer fees, the salaries, agents' fees - is just getting ridiculous now.
"In the Hazard deal, Chelsea paid the agent £6m. The (Samir) Nasri situation was the same.
"It's all about what you think is value for a player. I am not envious of those deals at all. We placed a value on Hazard which was well below what they were talking about.

Fantastic signing for Arsenal. Disappointing we couldn't sign him.
