Just researched it, and Big Willy is actually 23 so not even that young. Surely he would have had some senior football by now if he was any good. Same age as Haaland.

There's nothing to suggest he won't do that. Said it many times, this is his tactic and he's not changing it.So we got 18year old, 19year old and 20year old that will be part of a spine today. Lets hope our more experienced players help them out.

I think its more a case of managers having to take risks at times. It either pays off or it doesnt. If it does ETH gets praise, if it doesnt he gets abuse.
That is probably true. 15/16 (Smalling and Blind), 19/20, 20/21 and to some extent 21/22 (all Maguire and Lindelof) are the only seasons we didn't have a ridiculous injury list in our central defence since at least 06/07. And we know Lindelof was playing with a bad back in at least one of those seasons. Every other season we've had at least a month or so where we had no choice but to play players out of position or kids.
That is 18 years, with 14 of them having an injury crisis in the defence at some point. And that's despite always having a lot of first team central defenders throughout pretty much all that time (we had no choice due to knowing we'd have that crisis).Massive for big willy, hopefully can save us a lot of money.Ah but sure isnt ETH the problem ? Could have signed a CB in the summer instead of Mount and not rushed Martinez back so that he got injured again.Mainoo / Mctom . Bruno could work, if Mctom and Bruno show the kind of positional discipline thats needed, and they havent shown so far. With Anthony and Garnacho naturally staying wide, there really is no need for them to vacate central areas.Can’t believe west ham have a better misfiled than us. Yes, it’s quite scary how we’ve gotten here after spending all that money. There are only two or three positions where I’d say we’re better.
