Our CB pairing today is unbelievable!
Does it matter? He is not available, it is just way to oftenCalm down, he's ill.
Huh? He’s 19Just researched it, and Big Willy is actually 23 so not even that young. Surely he would have had some senior football by now if he was any good. Same age as Haaland.
Somewhat amazing that McTominay and Bruno are deemed the first names in midfield this season despite what we have all been seeing in relinquishing control of midfield. Either they bang in some goals or one of them adequately stays as an 8, or else we are wide open to be penetrated again
One of those lineups where the bench is stronger than the first 11.
Surely one of them has to play alongside Mainoo, gross negligence if manager allows midfield to be abandoned with that makeshift back 4.
Depends where you look. He certainly looks older than 19Huh? He’s 19
Plus Sancho, Martial, Mount and Casemiro missing/AWOL.Happy to see Amrabat dropped, indicating that there is still some correlation between performance and selection.
Shocker to see Kambwala in the starting XI. Presumably that means EtH is more comfortable with him in the CD than he is with Reguilon at left back. Which is a surprise.
Quick injury count: 1/3 LBs, 1/2 RBs, 4/5 CBs = 6/10 defenders.
So we got 18year old, 19year old and 20year old that will be part of a spine today. Lets hope our more experienced players help them out.
What? How about Man Utd’s official website? https://www.manutd.com/en/players-and-staff/detail/willy-kambwalaDepends where you look. He certainly looks older than 19

He was in the U18 Premier League last seasonJust researched it, and Big Willy is actually 23 so not even that young. Surely he would have had some senior football by now if he was any good. Same age as Haaland.

Surprised we didn't just start Reguillon and move Shaw in the centre.
Or would that be too obvious?
That is probably true. 15/16 (Smalling and Blind), 19/20, 20/21 and to some extent 21/22 (all Maguire and Lindelof) are the only seasons we didn't have a ridiculous injury list in our central defence since at least 06/07. And we know Lindelof was playing with a bad back in at least one of those seasons. Every other season we've had at least a month or so where we had no choice but to play players out of position or kids.Statistically, no team at any level in the world has ever had as many centre back injuries as Manchester United in the past 15 years.
Ah but sure isnt ETH the problem ? He should be having us playing brazil 70 football regardless of injuries !!
Not a lot Eric could do given the absentees. I would have preferred Amrabat to McT and maybe Shaw at CB (don't know much about Kambwala). Really going to be nervy when JWP has any set-piece opportunities
Yes, it’s quite scary how we’ve gotten here after spending all that money. There are only two or three positions where I’d say we’re better.West Ham's line up comfortably better than ours.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.... CBs weren't our priority in summer, and injuries are astonishingCould have signed a CB in the summer instead of Mount and not rushed Martinez back so that he got injured again.
Cant believe he's gone with the 1 holding and 2 attacking midfielders again it never works
Hopefully Kambwala emerges as another Mainoo.
As otherwise you wonder what the heck the point of bringing Reguillion in was.
They won’t. They themselves are so inconsistent
Thank goodness Eriksen is at least able to make the bench... he is needed if it is the good versionSomewhat amazing that McTominay and Bruno are deemed the first names in midfield this season despite what we have all been seeing in relinquishing control of midfield. Maybe wait till after the game to start with the praiseCan’t believe west ham have a better misfiled than us. What I would give to have that midfield
Not many teams in the top 11-ish of the league whose midfield isn’t better than ours or of similar level quality in terms of sheer balance and profilesCan’t believe west ham have a better misfiled than us. What I would give to have that midfield
