Jones: "Trust me, there is no-one more disappointed than the dressing room. We know we have to excite the fans, play attractive football and win games. We all want the same thing. We all need to pull in the right direction, starting on Wednesday. Fighting wise, I don’t think we can look at anyone in the dressing room and say "you didn’t give 100 per cent". Everyone gives their absolute maximum for this club and the fans and the manager. At times it has not worked but we are positive. We have to be. I keep saying it but Wednesday is such a huge game now. Every game is huge but this is even bigger. The lads will be gutted with the result [at Tottenham] and the way we conceded so quickly. Again, Wednesday is the defining moment of our season."

at times  So much small time, cringe-worthy bullshit in this quote. Just shut the f*ck up and concentrate on being able to play 1 minute without getting injured.

Agree. If they've nothing knew to say then why not just keep quiet.

Ultimately if they insist they try their best (I think they do) it can only mean they're just not good enough. Which no footballer ever says. So anything the players come out with right now is only a half truth.

come on united !!!(West ham) .Beat the batshit crazy LVG process.

    W. Ham is favorite to win as United is poor tactically with LVG as the manager.
I hope United will play the below formation and players to avoid a thrashing:
    .........................................................De Gea.............................................
    ..............................Forsu-Mensah........Smalling..........Rojo...........................
    Valencia..............................................................................................Blind
    ...................Herera...........................Schnerderlin..............Felliani.................
    ................................Rooney.................................Martial.............................

Play with wing backs to counter their overlapping full backs Antonio and Cresswell.
Stuff out the mid-fielders with hardworking midfielders and bring in Feliani to helrp with
the aerial threat of Carroll during set pieces. Forsu Mensah can read the game well and Smalling
and Rojo to counter the aerial threat during open play.
Let Rooney and Martial have the freedom of the attack.
We may just nick a draw or win if luck is with us.
Do not play Mata and Lingard as they are useless when the opponents are robust in nature.

I obviously want us to win this, but if we lose I hope we get utterly destroyed, at this point I want LVG humiliated beyond repair. So far DDG has spared him those blushes.

I think this is what I'd want.
    I'll take a win.
But if we do lose, let it be so bad, that LVG daren't lift his head, as he is booed off the pitch.

And yes, DDG has saved LVG's behind this year. I think had he not been here, we'd be in the bottom half of the league table.

So what time is the coach picking the team up tonight?

That "arrive late" tactic didn't work last time. In fact, we got spanked, so he won't be trying that again.
    We'll be on time today.

He's going to start Fellaini I just know it

    In fairness, I'd start Fellaini.
If 1-0 is the target (which I know it is), we will need Fellaini to mark Carroll on set pieces.
If WHU get 2 goals, we're done.
Logically, Fellaini has to be a guaranteed starter today.

Has anyone else ever felt a feeling of 100% certainty that we will lose quite like this?

Yes. Against Stoke, earlier this year. Which we did go on to lose.

Our problem is this tactic of scoring 1 goal per game. This creates a lot of pressure on our players to ensure we have a clean sheet and prevents them from playing with freedom.
They need to maintain a rigid, defensive system, to make it work.
And when shooting at goal, the player needs to be weary of missing, losing possession and then our opponents hitting us on the counter.

Carroll is too tall and payets cross is too good for us not to concede at least a couple, cant see us scoring a couple.

Assuming Fellaini is as competent as he should be in the air. He's misleadingly poor imo and would get eaten alive by Carrol. Would love to be wrong though.
It's Blind vs Carol that im more worried about.

If the players have a pair between them to match LvG's reported big bollocks, they'll find a way to grind out a result here tonight.

This is the best chance that some of them will have at winning a trophy for the foreseeable future. Rooney and particularly Carrick will never have another chance to win The FA Cup.

I don't care about the performance. Just get us to Wembley.

Scoring a goal has become the mini holy grail for this team.

We love the game because the currency of the 'goal' is of high value.

But that currency is devalued when it is followed up by a paranoid ruling that overbearing safety is the only way to achieve the desired result.

In a funny way, this team seems to exhibit less freedom rather than more when it has scored.

Most of the time, it's the other way round, particularly for so-called big teams.

I have us scraping out a 1-2 win.

    Heart over head? Perhaps.

I hate when we play a side with a big aerial threat and people want to start Fellaini because of it. No other top side would change their line ups because of Andy Carroll.

    In fairness, I'd start Fellaini.
If 1-0 is the target (which I know it is), we will need Fellaini to mark Carroll on set pieces.
If WHU get 2 goals, we're done.
Logically, Fellaini has to be a guaranteed starter today.

We have heard that a lot about blind and he's rarely if ever dominated by bigger strikers or faster strikers.

Carroll for all the stick he gets is genuinely brilliant in the air. If the delivery is good both Blind will certainly struggle but so will Fellaini. So I wouldn't bother with the latter, go with somebody who is good on the ball and take the game to them.

Wow completely forgot this match is happening today. I m sure Van Gaal is well prepared for this match as he would want to go out or be remembered with a trophy in his name.

Bad day to put it because no channels, I have will show the game because of premier league and champions league. I will have to search the dark web for some streams because it seem every site I go to have prevented showing matches live.

Ordinarily I'd expect West Ham to steamroller us but this game seems like one of those last-chance saloon matches that LVG always lucks out in.

2-0 West Ham is my guess. We'll probably have one shot on target around the 80th minute. Bring it on.

He did not luck out in the Champions League, when we got spanked 4-2.
Or against Middlesborough in the League Cup.
I don't think it'll be luck which saves us today.
If we win today, we'll need to play genuinely well (not rely on luck)

    Is Rooney back for this?

If he plays, I think it will guarantee our exit from the FA Cup.

Everyoneis dieing for them to beat us, I hope we smash the cnuts!

I am not hoping for WHU to win.
However, I do expect them to. WHU are a better team than us.
Their league position is very deceptive. In their last 4 games, they have had terrible decisions go against them, which prevented them from getting 3 points.

Most days when United are playing a big midweek game, my thoughts turn to the game throughout the day, but today it hasn't really registered that much. The fact City played in the CL Quarters last night and the following night United are playing in an FA Cup Quarter with both games probably the most important of the season to each team underlines exactly where United are just now.
