If Januzaj isn't on the bench it's because his fitness and his attitude isn't right for him to be there.

That's him wasting his own talent, not the club wasting him.

How the feck do you know that? Then what about Pereira? Does he have a bad attitude now too? These two havent been given an ounce of opportunity that Lingard, Depay, et al have had.

This is a must win now after Liverpool win, they are currently 3 points behind us.

Btw how is Darmian starting ahead of Varela? Carrick ahead of Schneierlin? Stop talking about resting them, they are being dropped, you might call it "resting" if you want a nice word for it.

Memphis doesn't need a rest, he's in a good run of form and his confidence is up, dropping him now is just dumb.

Would you be planning to start him againt West Brom, West Ham in the cup and Liverpool twice all in the next 11 days, or do you just think he'd rather be "dropped" in one of the other games?

Well said. Needs to get his act together

How do we know what his attitude is like, have you spoken to him personally?
He's played well in the U21 since he's come back, Pereira on the other hand has been the best player all season and over and over again is being overlooked, does he also have a bad attitude? Poor management simple. Can't wait to see the back off LVG so we can put the best of our talented youngsters together, the likes of Martial, Depay, Januzaj, Wilson, Pereira, Goss, Jackson, Williams, Mensah, Rashford etc, not Keane, Powell, Lingard, Love, Rothwell, Riley, Weir, Fletcher, McNair. It's just mind blowing, some of our more talent should be a lot more developed than they are right now. I'd put money on it that Januzaj and Pereira will play for U21 on Monday, question though is why are the then not involved in the 1st team.

It would be so refreshing to get a nice hassle free 0-3 win here, but it's never straightforward against Pulis teams. We're in for a cagey affair, first goal will be crucial.

As long as he's performing I'd keep playing him.

I don't like the fact LVG at the first chance he gets throws Fellaini back in the squad, the guy is shit. Also dropping Memphis, Schneiderlin and Valera makes little sense.

Well, you will most likely see Martial, Mata and Rashford in all of those games, so yeah, you have that.

Nonsense. He looked fit and his "attitude" looked fine to me the last time he was out on the pitch. Not even sure where this attitude talk comes from. It's ridiculous.

Well he can't if he's not given the chance to. In any case, Lingard has nothing to do with him failing to make the bench. It's Weir that is getting on the bench over Adnan which is puzzling. No offense to Weir, but he isn't as talented as Adnan.

Maybe, but talent alone wins you nothing. Commitment and work ethic is something Januzaj lacks in droves.

Yeah it's a decent team. Changes aren't surprising considering how many games we are playing recently. I don't think it's the end of people like Varela in the team I certainly hope not, because he's done well. Memphis isn't omission isn't too surprising since his last performance wasn't great by all accounts.

Unable to watch this at home unfortunately as stuck at work, an ipad friendly river would be a disaster if someone tried to help out...

I dont know why I have just got a bad feeling about this game, hopefully I am wrong.

We've played a lot of games recently and that will continue so not surprising to see some players get some rest.

As long as he's performing I'd keep playing him.

Fair enough, I suppose that (fitness permitting) Martial will probably play in all four so it's not that daft. I just don't see those players who have been left out today as having been dropped. Liverpool left out Coutinho today - to me it looked like resting him ahead of the game with us. I wouldn't have said he'd been dropped.

Disappointed to see Memphis on the bench. It's ridiculous to "rest" a player who's finally finding some form after struggling for three quarters of a season.

Look that unbiased panel  Ex Arsenal,Liverpool player and on top injured WBA player.

Anything less than 3 points here will be very disappointing.

Must win if we want top 4. Only 2 points behind Arsenal if we win, and I don't think they'll bounce out of their slump too quickly. City I feel like will be just about good enough to stay in top 4, so we really have to target Arsenal, and win these games that we should be winning.

I don't mind resting players in this situation. But I hope LVG doesn't wait until the 75th minute to start making substitutions if things aren't going well.

We'll bring three points home today.

He doesn't need resting though, that's the point.

It's been made abundantly clear in the last bunch of fixtures that he's a player who thrives off confidence and is playing well. Dropping/resting him now, whatever you want to call it, will set him back.

Its the experienced first choice team who were serving up all those draws and losses.
They are the ones who served up the most boring football seen at OT for several decades.
I have more faith in your U21s players (which we were using for the last 4 matches) than with our first teamers.

Hence why I said "a solid defensive display at the very least" - notice how I said nothing about our attacking.
We've been better to watch/more exciting/better going forwards and lots of other things during this little run, but we've also looked very fragile defensively. Which isn't surprising given the personnel we had in the back four.

We might need him. Pulis is playing 4 CB's and Rondon, set pieces are going to be a pain. Don't forget he came off the bench at West Brom last season and did well.

Why the hell has he left Varella out? And what has Lingard done to merit a recall? Can see us getting beaten - and if the Mirror is right that it's Giggs from next season, I will tear what's left of my hair out...

Maybe, but talent alone wins you nothing. Commitment and work ethic is something Januzaj lacks in droves.
How do you figure that? I don't think he lacks either of those things. Sorry, but I would rather gamble on talent in this particular case.
