Mourinho picks his team based on opponent. He has always done this. Mata's omission today makes sense, as we're coming up against a very organised West Brom side. We need runners. Lingard gives us that.Darmian is a truly terrible football player so it's disappointing to see him.
Lingard is due his usual one in ten games great goal so hopefully he gets it today.

Don't disagree, unfortunately we're missing consistency and the starting 11 hardly fills me with confidence.Some arguments can be made for all his choices, except Darmian for Blind.
Okay, Darmian is a bit faster, but that is countered by his total lack of footballing intelligence which Blind uses to get ahead of attackers. Okay Blind is seen as physically weak, but that is countered by Darmian being so fazed by everything that he goes into hiding in his shell.
Really can't see any viable reason to pick him.
Watch Darmian loose the guy he is supposed to be marking on a set piece today resulting in a goal against.
I already explained in my earlier post that Rooney over Rashford and Martial was a strange one. That said, the other day against Palace, Rooney was the only one that was making runs in behind their defence.

Blind isn't playing wonders also, you know? And doesn't seem very fit at the moment, so…Would have preferred Martial to Rooney for more pace and penetration around Zlatan, but lets see how this goes fingers crossed for the good Rooney to turn up. It was more of a dig at him for being invisible for most parts of the gameLet just win this. At least by the next game we'll have Mhki back and hopefully Martial has a good sub apparence.
I'm still praying to God for things to click for Martial and Mhki to not get injured again so I won't have to see Lingard or Rashford ever starting on any of the flanks in important games.
