Martial has done more than Darmian to deserve a place in the line up. That was the point I was making despite them playing different positions.Not a chance of easy 3 points. Not going to be more than 1 goal in it if anyone wins. Odds are 1-1 draw.
No pace. Not much attacking verve. Hopefully we can bring on Martial and Rashford to have an impact.If Rooney and Lingard went out for Martial and Mkhitaryan we would all be saying how wonderful the team is.

This would be so much more comfortable if we had Mkhitaryan for feck sake.Since the Fenerbahce loss, Rooney has started every away match we have played except the Everton match in which he was suspended and hence Martial was selected. It looks like Mourinho trusts Rooney more than Martial in the away matches in that left wing position.

Mata might have been an option, but Lingard's pace is going to be important and Rooney is much stronger on the ball. It's clearly a tactical choice to drop Mata.

Not much to complain about regarding the starting line up. Would have probably preferred to see Martial ahead of Rooney, but Martial is so far off top form that I'm not that bothered. The real miss is Mkhitaryan. His movement, pace and ability obviously something we're not able to replace.
