For me Carrick has to play. Even if we only get 60 mins out of him.

Why wasn't Martial involved against Palace? If he's fit he has to start.

    Dave
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Carrick
    Mata - Herrera - Pogba - Martial
    Zlatan

    If Martial not fit, Lingard.

Yep I'd rather have a knackered Carrick than Fellaini. He has no idea how to control tempo like Carrick.

What I think it will be:

    Rashford/Mata==Zlatan==Lingard

    =======Pogba==Herrera====
    ==========Fellaini=======

    ==Darmian=Rojo=Jones=Valencia=

Its going to be a 4-2-3-1. He plays that formation in the tough games.

It's not like he had to work hard against Palace either, most of the defending he did was standing infront of Benteke while they smashed it long.

3 games in 6 days could be an issue though.

I think start him, if we need to chase the game then sub off and bring on another forward.

Still a stretch to put him on Saturday man... It would be best to believe in Blind in such a role and trust Shaw as LB.

I agree it's a stretch but Shaw is injured and I do not want Darmian there...Blind would be the better option. That leaves two options for midfield. Either we go with Carrick, Herrera with Pogba at #10 or we use Mata at #10 with Pogba dropping deeper. Second option means Lingard has to play on the right which is far from ideal too. If Carrick can even last only 60 minutes on saturday I would take it. We look so much better with him in the team.

We need Mkhi and Martial back for this game. It's essential we field players that can commit defenders.

We can't play in front of their defence we'll be there until Christmas trying to score. We need players to run the channels and commit defenders.

Fellaini won't be playing the deep role in a midfield 3, hopefully not at all.

    Valencia
    Jones
    Rojo
    Shaw

    Carrick
    Herrera
    Pogba

    Mkhitaryan
    Zlatan
    Martial/Young/Lingard/Rashford (1 of)

That would be ideal if all are available.

This is the team I expect to play, assuming Mkhitaryan, Bailly, Smalling, Shaw, and Martial are not fit. Rooney and Schweinsteiger to replace Zlatan and Carrick at the hour mark if possible.

This is what I am expecting:

    -----------De Gea
    --Bailly--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    ------------Herrera
    --------Fellaini---Pogba
    --Mata-------Ibra------Martial

With West Brom scoring a huge percentage of their goals from set-pieces and the fact that Carrick is yet to play 3 matches in a week for us this season, it would be tempting for Mourinho to play Fellaini instead of Carrick. If Fellaini doesn't start this match, I can't see him starting another league match this season.

Bailly is better than Valencia aerially. So it wouldn't surprise me if Jose prefers him again at RB.

Rashford and Lingard haven't started a match since the 1-1 draw against West Ham and Rooney didn't convince last night. So feel Martial might get the nod over them.

Must win. If we have any chance of catching the rest it needs to be five out of five. With alot of the other teams playing each other and we playing these "lesser" teams. We simply must win at all costs.

WBA is an interesting team - I can't remember the last time I saw a team so completely built on physique and experience. Against Swansea yesterday - their youngest player starting was Matt Phillips who is 25.
In defense, Brunt 32, Olsson 33, McAuley 37 and Nyom 28. Midfield Phillips 26, Fletcher 32, Yacob 29, Morrison 30 and Chadli 27 and up front Rondon who is 27.

So in my opinion - we should keep the ball and whatever we do, don't drop down and let them start crossing the ball. They lack pace so I would rather we push them back and risk the occational counter.

In fact, we should play exactly like we did against Palace in the first half - just with a bit more urgency.

Zlatan wont be substituted though. He hates it.

Mourinho mentioned some players reaching their physical limits in the Crystal Palace game. But there are some who are just undroppable, like Herrera, Pogba, Ibrahimović and the two center-backs (due to the lack of alternatives). The other ones haven't had as much time on the pitch as these, so no problem there. But no way Carrick will play.

With Carrick out, Mourinho will have to choose sticking with 4-1-4-1 (4-3-3) with Fellaini (like Swansea away)
    Fellaini – Herrera – Pogba
    Herrera – Schweinsteiger (unlikely) –
or revert to 4-2-3-1, with someone like Lingard coming in

    Herrera – Pogba
    Lingard – Mata – Martial

    – – Rashford

They came to the Bridge with a very good game plan which involved parking a massive bus when defending and knocking it up to Rondon (who was playing against Luiz who was obviously feeling the effects of Agüero's tackle) at every opportunity.

At home, though, I think you guys will face a slightly more open side now that they've seen they can score quite a few if they have a go.

For that reason I think you guys will win comfortably.

The Hawthorns is usually a pretty tough place to go for us. Can't remember too many easy wins and can remember a few scares and certainly a few dropped points.

Don't think this'll be easy in the slightest because they're high on confidence at the minute too.

Zlatan wont be substituted though. He hates it.

Yeah well, I'm sure there's a lot of players who hate to sit on the bench, too. The manager makes the decisions and I'm pretty sure Zlatan is mature and experienced enough to suck it up for the team. He's also mentioned himself that he's tired. It was the same with CR, he absolutely hated to be substituted (hates it even more nowadays btw), still SAF of course subbed him when he though it was the best thing to do.

West Brom has been a bit of a pain in the arse over the last number of seasons.

They are getting very good results this season by their standards.

I wish but no way Carrick starts again. He has to be rested. I'd play speed next to Ibra, martial and Rashford. Martial scored a couple not long ago.

Fellaini might start (you've put him also as a sub), but it won't be on Carrick's position. Herrera will drop and Fellaini will play right-center midfield, like against Swansea.

I would prefer the 4-2-3-1 option too, but I doubt it will happen.
My bad, I meant Bastian on the bench. Herrera could be dropped as that means he will play 4 games in 10 games - which is ridiculous, but then again we have an 8 day break after.

1-1 to me, WBA hard nut to crack at home (4-2-2, 16:11) and United not bold enough away yet (4-2-2, 11:11).

Well, Rojo, Pogba and Ibrahimović are in the same situation, and won't be dropped either. Herrera seems very fit, and playing in Carrick's position he might run less. I doubt it very much Mourinho would risk playing without both Carrick and Herrera.

fcking hell lads alright there in form but the way some of you are going on were about to take on Barcelona in a final, it's WBA, not to say it will be a walk in the park but our squad is leaps and bounds better and hopefully we turn up

    3-1 United

I think this one has draw written all over it and in some ways that's an ok result. It'll be a tough game for lots of teams around us this season too. We've turned the corner and we have a couple of easier games coming up after to get a few goals and keep the general momentum up. We are going well again and I can't see us losing this game but we aren't as good as we can be yet.

    Ddg
    Valencia jones rojo blind
    Fellaini Ander
    Pogba
    Mata martial
    Zlatan

Edit I obviously hope we totally smash them!!!!
Get some serious form going! :)

Should't have to worry about him seeing how fast he is ageing.

If Micky and Martial are fit:

    ---------------- DDG --------------
    Valencia - Bailly - Rojo - Shaw
    -------------- Carrick ------------
    -------- Herrera - Pogba ------
    --- Micky - Zlatan - Martial ---

    DDG
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mata Zlatan Martial

Players that need to be watched, Philips and Rondon. They both are their main attackers, I have been watching WBA a few times this season, I am surprised with how they played this season at home. And when against a top team like Chelsea they were very discipline in defense and parking the bus.
This is going to be tough game I must say. But if we can get early goal I think we can nail it however don't underestimate their attacks as well.

Its going to be a 4-2-3-1. He plays that formation in the tough games.
4-2-3-1 suits us much better in this match imo. I just do not want to see Fellaini anchoring a midfield 3 and 4-2-3-1 allows us to play Mata at 10 where he needs to be instead of out wide.

The key to beating them is pressing high and winning the ball back quickly. if we sit back and let them cross (like we usually do) we will end up conceding. They are good in the air and have decent crossers of the ball.

We must keep them boxed in and retain possession before they reach our half.

That should be our tactics indeed. But will we have enough energy to use high pressing for most of the game? We have played too many games recently and the key players weren't rotated.

Well we've always struggled against them, even back when they did not have Pulis and were completely average. I remember them outplaying us at Old Trafford twice and we don't win at The Hawthorns that often either, I think.

We have rotated our wide players, who let's face it do the majority of pressing. I have no worries about Ibra, Pogba and Herrera are full of energy too. I expect Lingard/Martial to start this one, or Mkhi if he's ready.

I know a win would be massive, but reckon this one will be a draw. West Brom are a tough nut to crack at the Hawthorns, and fatigue is bound to kick in soon after so many games. Draw this one and win the next three and we'll be in a decent position before the Liverpool home game.

I'd be disappointed with a draw. They are in form but we can match them for tenacity, organisation and spirit plus have better players.

I hadn't even noticed they were right behind us, beat us and we're only a point ahead. They're doing well. City did beat them 4-0 at their place though.
