    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Carrick
    Pogba - Herrera
    Mata - Zlatan - Martial

The team picks itself for me. Rashford for Martial if unfit.

Fellaini will start this one, I'm so sure of that.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    Fellaini
    Herrera--Pogba
    Mata--Ibrahimovic--Martial

subs: Romero, Darmian, Fellaini, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Rashford

I wouldn't mind a 4-2-3-1 with Lingard, Mata, Martial behind Ibrahimovic.
Fellaini might start (you've put him also as a sub), but it won't be on Carrick's position. Herrera will drop and Fellaini will play right-center midfield, like against Swansea.

I would prefer the 4-2-3-1 option too, but I doubt it will happen.

Would love for us to start with Morgan if Carrick is to be rested. Certainly a better option than Fellaini who I feel will be an easy free kick target for Pulis's West Brom. They'll be difficult to break down and we'll see plenty of possession. Can see it being a similar game to today but with Valencia and Martial to come in we will have more of a threat down the flanks than what we had against Palace.
Right now, it's more probable Schweinsteiger starting than Schneiderlin.

I think Lingard played his way in with that cameo and Martial will probably be brought back since Rooney never seems to start two in a row anymore. Carrick to be rested and Mata brought inside as a 10.
West Brom don't have the squad for 3 games in a week and they need their energy to play their puke football so they mightn't be as physical and hard working as we think

«The 4-3-3 now seems established as Mourinho's first-choice system, but it's strange he spent the opening weeks of the season playing 4-2-3-1. This shape always suited his players better, and the recent improvement in results demonstrates that perfectly.»

This is only due to Carrick, who can only start half the games. I would buy a big player in January for Carrick's position and to allow the stability of the formation.

This game is absolutely crucial for us. If we win this one, we'll go on a run of wins as we have two home games coming up against Sunderland and Middlesbrough. We will also have a break of almost 9 days before those two home games. So our players will be well rested and Mkhitaryan will also be back.

This is the ideal time to catch up on those above us on the table as they all have tougher fixtures than us and will drop points. If we mess up the next three games, I can't see how we'll make top 4.

Must win and keep momentum going. West Brom are playing well but we need to win these games.

Such a big game this one now. With two winnable games against teams near the bottom after it, if we post a win here we could go on a decent winning run. We haven't managed one since the season before last. Particularly with City playing Arsenal home and Liverpool away during that same period, it's a great opportunity. I fancy City to draw and then lose in those two games.

But it hinges on winning this one. I saw West Brom play with basically four centre backs vs Chelsea the other day, so theyre going to be hard to beat. Chelsea needed a West Brom error to make the break through. I'd be happy with a 1-0 here.

We simply have to win this now. Like Jose said yesterday, win every game up until the end of the year and look to see what we can do in the top 4.

Rondon is in beast mode lately. Rojo and Jones will have to be at their best especially aerially.

    ------------De Gea---------
    Valencia-Bailly-Jones-Blind
    ------------Carrick---------
    -------Herrera-Pogba------
    ---Lingard---------Martial--
    ----------Ibrahimovic------

Hopefully Valencia is back, and we see Bailly at centre half again. Don't want Rojo near the first 11, the guy is a ticking time bomb. We were lucky he didn't cost us the game last night. Doubt Mkhi will be fit.

We really missed Valencia last night so he'll be a welcome return on the right. Sod resting Carrick. If Ibra can play all these minutes and still look as sharp yesterday then I'm sure Carrick can suck it up for one more game. We can afford to rest him after the Baggies.

It's true that the period is key with our rivals playing each other and us having "easier" games ahead. But I'm never confident going to WBA, and never confident playing a Tony Pullis team. He knows better than anyone how nullify another team. I still remember last year how Rondon destroyed us there, so we should be aware of him and it will be very difficult for us to break their defense.

I think that we'll see a game where we'll control the ball, but we'll have a lot of issues creating chances and of course scoring when they will put us in danger every time Rondon will have the ball.

A victory there would be a massive plus before a week off, then Boro and Sunderland at home

This game will be pain in the ass. Somehow I hope that Pulis still likes Mourinho and won't make it overly hard on us. :nervous:

A win on Saturday will blow the last three seasons cobwebs away. The team will grow, the supporters will have an early Christmas......and I'll get very very drunk!

West Brom playing really well and we've got a bit of a dilemma on who to play along side Ibra and not to mention can Carrick play a 3rd in a span of 6 days. I really do think we need to play Lingard and Martial/Rashford so we can have some speed behind and runners for those balls Ibra plays.

Also - imagine we will be seeing Fellaini in the lineup with Herrera dropping deeper - West Brom are going to be strong at set pieces and to give Carrick a break.

3 points will be massive because I think we'll steamroll Sunderland and Boro at home and a 5 game (league) win streak going into the new year will mean a lot of confidence in the squad and a real fear factor for the rest.

This game can prove to be pivotal. Winning this and who knows where we'll end up come January. We need to kick on now and extend our run. WBA is a very tough opponent especially at the Hawthorns.

Our latest trip there ended 1-0 (that game with the stupid Mata red) Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Right.

I was at this game and it was probably the most frustrating performance I've seen from Lingard.

West Brom are in solid form. 7th at the moment, right behind us. Their only losses in their last 10 have come from Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

I'd like to see us manage the game like we did last night. First half, Palace barely had a look in. Press high and keep the ball off them. Don't even give them a chance to punish us. With the players we have on the pitch, we are more likely to make something happen than we were last season by probing and waiting for an opening. We certainly can't let them put balls in the box, and I think we stopped Palace from doing that quite well for the most part.

I would leave the rotation for the two easy home games coming up. WBA should be much harder test than Palace.

For me Carrick has to play. Even if we only get 60 mins out of him.

Why wasn't Martial involved against Palace? If he's fit he has to start.

    Dave
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Carrick
    Mata - Herrera - Pogba - Martial
    Zlatan

    If Martial not fit, Lingard.

Absolutely Vital game. Liverpool away to everton city playing arsenal. If we get three points we should be closing the distance on at least one of our top 4 rivals and that's what we need. Given the festive period over the next month we can come out of that in any position if we keep winning.

Think it will be the 4-3-3 again with Lingard instead of Rooney, and probably Fellaini either starts in the midfield three, or he comes on for a tiring Carrick around 55-60min.

Right about now a match fit Schweini would be nice..

This is a massive problem for us, because it means Herrera has to play every game he is available as he drops back into Carrick's position. If we had proper midfield options, not ones who have been frankly disappointing, both of them could get their rest. Herrera looks exhausted.

Have to win with city playing arse. One of them will drop points maybe even both will really close the gap and put some pressure on both.

Carrick must be tired but people need to have in mind that our next game after WBA is 9 days after. Plenty of time for him to rest and recover. I hope he can manage to go through one more game in short period. Him not playing at all in the first part of the season might be blessing in disguise, fatigue might be lessened due to that. Martial is another one I hope plays since, no matter how bad he plays, he still offers more than anyone else on the left in our team. Last night, for example, even his pace alone would offer us so much. In the current squad he simply has to play every game where he's available. If he manages a decent game at least, that will make us so much more dangerous.

It's such an important game since, due to other fictures, teams above us are guaranteed to drop points and we have some pretty easy games at home during xmas period. Win here would put us in position to really catch up top 4 teams even before new year. Building momentum on consecutive wins is added benefit to carry us further.

I would still play Mata on the right, not Lingard, even if it's far from perfect. Valencia being back will help him and he's also player that plays better with some consecutive games under his belt. I feel he'll offer us more than Lingard in this game.

I'd probably take a point now with their form. We ought to beat Boro and Sunderland so 13/15 points for the month wouldn't be too bad.

Yeah I agree. I would try and buy another proper box to box player like Nainggolan, and a CDM.

Still a stretch to put him on Saturday man... It would be best to believe in Blind in such a role and trust Shaw as LB.
