Normally when you think of Rooney, you think of one of the best players in the world (he still is, but I'm talking of top 15), nowadays he isnt and that's why he wont catch a break, he/the fans/his managers have set high standards for him, and he isnt living up to it, that's why he is being criticised a lot, but he is stell a hell of a player.
well, i'm not sure about historically speaking... but at his advanced age (in footballing terms), it's essential not to throw him to the wolves too quickly. hopefully he sees a few minutes today, and quite a few more with the under 21's... would like to ideally see him start by the time we play City.Does anyone have a list of the players in the squad for tonight?

Draw win or loose at least the excitement is back. Last year the most used word was embarrassing. This year it is entertaining.
Absolutely. The dearth of games this season -- being out of the League Cup and not qualified for Europe -- means I am treasuring each league game as they come. The way it really should be, I suppose, but I'm loving it!
It's like night and day compared to last season. Last season, I dreaded it. Partly because the football was torrid and the fact I didn't trust Moyes against any team. Especially home games.
Still nervous about the defence, though. Every game could be a rollercoaster.
I'll prob have a bet on him being shown a card if he starts tonight.
He was never athletic or had any pace but he moved like a slug last season. The 3-0 loss to Liverpool was the worst I've ever seen him play, should have given away another penalty too.

Today I’m writing to you as we travel to Birmingham on the team bus. As you know we play against West Brom this Monday, so here I am, and I’m going to share with you some of the things that have happened during the week.
I want to tell you how is my last day before playing a game. When we play away from home, and this is the case now, we usually meet up on the eve of the game at Carrington’s training ground. We have our last training session and then we have lunch together. We travel in the afternoon. Depending on the destination, sometimes we go by plane, by train, or this time by bus as it takes less than two hours to get to Birmingham.
Upon arrival, we check in at the hotel and have dinner. Once we finish we have different options, such as treatment with the physios, chatting with the team-mates or going straight to the room. In my case, I like to spend some time on my own, just chilling before going to bed. I usually carry my laptop to watch a movie or a TV series. And I also try to get mentally ready for the game, visualising different plays and the way the match could be.
The day before a game I like to sleep a lot so I don’t go to bed very late. Today I’m writing this earlier than usual, because normally I work on the blog after dinner, when all the games are finished. But to me it’s very important to feel rested during the most important moment of the week.
This week has been very good in terms of training; I hope we are able to show that on the pitch. A third consecutive win would be really important. The last two took a lot of effort and I’m sure it will be the same at The Hawthorns. I hope we can make it.

Well, we smashed West Brom 3 nil away from home last season. Anything similar to that tonight, and I'll be more than happy.
We all would. A clean sheet would be fantastic as well.
Hopefully Carrick can feature at some stage as well, if he makes the bench.West Brom weren't very good at all against Liverpool, they were lucky to score as the penalty was outside the box. They can be dangerous on set pieces with Lescott and McCauley attacking the ball but mark them tight and we'll win by 3 or 4.
Its always nice to see fans who have faith in our team. It's really refreshing.
I'm not saying that he is worse than before or anything like that. What I mean is that when he was younger, he could take a game entirely into his own hands and come up with something magical, like his hattrick in his debut. He could run/dribble past a couple of players and smash the ball into the top corner. He was more of a striker rather than a playmaker. I think this is because he was maybe a bit quicker, a bit more risky, more savage and more of a "optimistic young player" rather than an "old, experienced one".The only MNF match that I can remember was when we secured out 20th title- Status
