Up at 5:50 AM for this one in Australia. Hopefully get a win.

Carrick is fit enough to start? I'm actually really excited to see him play again, can't wait for this game.

    Worried by the game today.
West Brom away is not easy and we still have not won an away game this season, hopefully our first comes today.
Carrick shouldnt start today, hes been out for months and is lacking serious matchfitness.Would be crazy to start him tonight,he should be on the bench.

    4-3-3 please

    Raf -----Jones-----Rojo------Shaw
    --------Blind--------Herrara--------
    ----------------Mata-----------------
    Januzaj-----Falcao-------Di Maria

Yeah didn't think anything was wrong, just noticed a few are leaving him out of lineups on here.

Most in the caf reckon he has been crap, hence why you are seeing that.

Line ups on here are more about what people want, not what they think will happen.

Going to West Brom is scary whether you're playing football or not.

Now we have Carrick back interested to see how he fits in though, because I can't see who he'd replace him for now; Blind has been solid, Di Maria is... well I don't even need to explain, Herrera's been important and Mata's got to be a shoe-in without Rooney to choose from. And frankly I aren't that convinced Carrick is up to the task of improving on any of them.

Kinda concerned LvG is heading for breaking another one of them "never lost to this team in the league" records that Moyes was so fond of breaking.

    Carrick is fit?
Herrera might play I hear but I think we shouldnt risk him and save him for Chelsea.
However I'd probably agree with this.

I have to miss the final 30mins because of work... Which also means that I won't have to crap myself watching us defend wave after wave of attacks in the final 30.

I'd like to see this as well, I think it'd be silly to start 2 strikers vs Chelsea so this game may be a good opportunity to test the 4-3-3

This will be a tricky game.

I believe we haven't won at WBA in the last 5 away fixtures. I hope Mata has a stand out performance and really gets that number 10 spot nailed on.

    We won last year

In fact, we have never lost against west brom away in 8 premier league matches.

Yeah, I have to do this as well only 4.50. Shitty streams don't help on my motivation to get up either.

West Brom look truly awful this year, I hope we can smash them to carry as much confidence into the Chelski game.
Theyve only been beaten once at home this season. Add to that Brahino has scored 5/6 of his goals at the Hawthorns this season. Not an easy game.

With Chelsea and City coming up, lose this and we could be looking at three straight defeats. Will LvG survive if we do lose 3 games in a row?

Agree that it'd be good to see 4-3-3/4-5-1 but I can't envisage LVG moving away from the midfield diamond, given his determination to play RvP into some form. Away from home it does seem a tad risky (as shown in the Leicester game) and it'd be all sorts of ballsy to play that way against Chelsea.

Maybe given our leaky defence LVG just figures the best way to approach these match-ups is to go gung-ho and try to outscore the opposition. At least, if nothing else, it's refreshing after last season's insipid tactical approaches...

We won't lose three games in a row, but he'd obviously survive even if we did. To think otherwise would be quite daft.

Before the City game in 2012 we were unbeaten on Monday nights in 24 games stretching back to 1998, since then we've only won one of five (the 3-0 v Villa where we wrapped up the title). So I think we'll draw tonight.

It's practically a whole new team and manager now though, so predicting games based on that record is a tad pointless. Not that I haven't done it myself..

4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with one striker up front to warm us for Chelsea would be a good idea.

I'm not sure our diamond would be all that sustainable.

Well, that was a fun weekend of premier league action wasn't it? Thrills, spills and talking points. But I can't help but feel something was missing...

Oh, that's right, the biggest club in the world. Made to wait for the longest possible time to play after the international games. Falcao gets to play with James Rodriguez, Rooney gets to play with James Milner*. And somehow Rooney gets the blame for everything, he gets the blame when England lose, he even manages to get the blame when England win. No matter, he's still suspended for trying to clear a West Ham player into the stands.

Still not sure what LVG's "philosophy" is, the word has lost all meaning, tbh. I like LVG, don't get me wrong, he's the right man for the job (who is available), but I'd like to see us play 4-5-1 and control games better, give Falcao or RVP the space to move into, how they want to. Maybe even put Di Maria in the middle and give Januzaj a chance on the wings. So far, the "philosophy" is to create really good chances in attack for 60 minutes, then play like we are Stoke holding on to a draw against Barcelona for the final 30.

I don't care about this 3 month nonsense, but I want us to really start clicking before the christmas period if we are to have any hope of mounting a title challenge and securing top four. West Brom will be tricky, but it's one of the more important matches of "The next five games...".

*Di Maria and Rojo get to play with Messi

I'm absolutely buzzing for this game. Really hope we can pick up some momentum here as I can see LVG nailing his tactics for the big games coming up. All the team need is a bit of confidence going into the next games so a win here is vital.

Two weeks without mufc is two weeks too long.
Excited, can't wait for the game to kick off!

Can't wait for game tonight, been too long.
20:00 kick off, that the closet thing we have to Champions League game, so I'm well excited.

I'd like to see this formation, We need to give Janujaz some playing time.

But I think this is the one that LvG will use.

People who think we will change formation are just being gullible. Van gaal wont change a thing.

People who think carrick will play are wrong again as manutd face book page says his return will be in an u 21 game on friday and he will be ready for city. He is fit but not match fit.

We might see herrera on the bench and Perreira/fletcher/fellaini starting. It all depends who has played well in training. Same with jones/rojo/evans/smalling etc.

Watching Wayne's performance against Fenerbache in 2004 on MUTV. What an amazing début it was. A hat-trick and an assist. Unbelievable player.

Just hoping no new injuries before Chelsea&City games. WBA will definitely have a go.

    4-3-3 please

    Raf -----Jones-----Rojo------Shaw
    --------Blind--------Herrara--------
    ----------------Mata-----------------
    Januzaj-----Falcao-------Di Maria
That would actually be very good but I doubt LVG will leave out RVP for Januzaj. But I really want to see us playing 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with the quality wingers we have disponsable (Di Maria and Januzaj).

But I guess 4-1-2-1-2 is good enough.

DDG, Rafael, Jones, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Di Maria, Mata, RVP, Falcao is my prediction.

    3-1, hat-trick by Falcao.

Jones will get injured and will be replaced by Smalling. Smalling will miss a crucial pass which leads to the WBA goal.

He has lost some of the magic he had. You never see him doing something spectacular these days.
