Herrera to be booked is an easy guess for 2nights game.
Just hope Alli won't dive too much.. By the way, who's the referee?

I'm more and more convinced you're a bot replying anytime anyone mentions Lingard (or even doesn't mention him at all)! Your phrasing seems like the current state of artificial intelligence now, too.

I am very much a real person, I am not quite sure how to convince you of that, but I am honestly!!

I just like to see us play our best team in the big games, and this is a big game!

    That's precisely what a bot would say!

    ----------------DDG

    Valencia---Jones---Smalling----Young

    -----Herrera---Matic-----Pogba

    ----Sanchez---Lukaku----Martial

Valencia will have his hands full with Son. If we shut down service to Kane we have a chance.

Honestly, a 4-2-3-1 with Lingard as #10, not seeing it happening. It would be very untypical of Mourinho to go toe to toe away against a top team.

We played a 4-2-3-1 against Liverpool at Anfield last season. Fellaini-Pogba pivot, if I remember correctly.

Jose can park the bus in any formation, its' his natural ability.

    He's like an algorithm.

Would love to see us lineup 433 and Martial keeping his place on the left.

Sanchez on the right is no good, his daily bread and butter is to cut in and look for a one-two, shot or take-on. If Spurs had Tobey I‘d say sacrifice Lukaku in order to play Martial but with their current defence I expect a 4-2-3-1 with Sanchez on the left and no Martial.

Gone 4231 on the predictor; Martial, Sanchez, Mata with Lukaku up top. sincerely hope we go after spurs from kick off - feeling confident.

    Looking forward to this.

Proper excited for this one. If we can beat them, we put some serious distance between us and 5th. And then they play the scouse at the weekend.

I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if Jose doesn't start with a midfield 3. Matic has looked tired of late... him and Pogba against the Spurs midfield has me worried.

Damn, well I am real I tell you honest!!

@RedRom Your obsession for Lingard is weird. It'll be very funny if he doesnt start.

My obsession over wanting to see one of, if not our most in form player play in this match is weird?? And you say it would be funny if he doesn't start? Do you actually want to see us start without our first choice side??

That's exactly what a synth would say!

    Drat!

I'm not sure what formation we are gonna play. 3-4-1-2 or 4-3-3?
    Doubt it's the 4-2-3-1.

I agree about his superior bus parking abilities. But you had Pogba as #10 and Young, now a fullback, as leftwinger. Not expecting anything as defensively similar today, are we?

We'll see. I expect him to start Lingard due to the Wembley factor. Martial was rested completely for Yeovil, so he's got to be a cert to start. Sanchez is definitely starting.

Maybe he will go 4-3-3 with Lingard even. I just don't see him dropping Lingard or Martial for the game.

I like Lingard's recent form. Who would you start?

That's what I think, that he will go 4-3-3 but with Lingard as #8. But that's a bit risky and also kind of expected, so he might be tempted to pull one trick more for Pochettino.

    Want to see:

    GK De Gea
    RB Valencia
    CB Smalling
    CB Jones
    LB Young
    MF Matic
    MF Herrera
    MF Pogba
    CF Lukaku
    RW Lingard
    LW Martial

Herrera to mark Eriksen out the game.
Sanchez comes on at 60 mins for one of Lingard, Lukaku, Martial, or Herrera...

Matic hasn't played for 11 days and only played 3 games in the last 4 weeks. He'll be fine.

This big games myth about Jose.

People need to get their facts right.

Jose only plays very conservatively when he thinks the other side is superior or when defending a lead. Not saying this is right but it's just reality. If he thinks his team is strong enough, he sets them up to play on the front foot.

A bit crazy not to start Sánchez.

Yeah, he did that and failed clearly at Stamford Bridge this season. Also with City at OT. On the other hand, he was conservative with Tottenham at OT and Liverpool away and got results, although with dry performances.

I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if Jose doesn't start with a midfield 3. Matic has looked tired of late... him and Pogba against the Spurs midfield has me worried.

You might have a point there. I'm a bit confused on how José will try to work the right flank and think atm that it will be done fluidly by Mata and Lingard supported by Valencia runs. The more defensive option would be only Lingard and Valencia without Mata but Herrera to cover for Valencia.

Spurs plan on their left appears to be Eriksen's left footed half field crosses with Davies for witdh so I conclude the more offensive option justifiable.

I don't think Matić is so tired as he is restraining himself, to cover defensively for Pogba's more recent advances in the pitch.

Should be guranteed 10 or 11 tonight. Cant decide on the LB spot but the rest of the team picks itself
    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Young
    Matic Pogba
    Sanchez Lingard Martial
    Lukaku

The City game was as a result of poor player performances. City would not have won that game. Of course, I agree with those who say the option of going for it against City would have been better. As for the Chelsea game, people need to go and watch it again. We did not play just to defend. It was an interesting end to end stuff for many parts of the game. The problem was that Chelsea outplayed us. They were a better team. Simple.

The only game we have played this season that looked like we were clearly happy to go for a draw from start to finish was the Anfield game.

Having said these, don't get me wrong. I am with those who say we need to be more expressive in the big games. I just don't agree with those who say Jose ALWAYS plays for draws in the big games or never goes out to win. Like I said earlier, I believe for Jose, it comes down to if he thinks his team is strong enough to go toe to toe.

I like Lingard's recent form. Who would you start?

I have previously said who I would start in this thread, however just for you I will say that I would start with Lingard, Pogba, Martial, Lukaku and Sanchez.

I don't think Matić is so tired as he is restraining himself, to cover defensively for Pogba's more recent advances in the pitch.

I think a bit of both tbh. His postioning is top class, but even the best get caught out, and when he does, he doesn't have the pace to get back. Obviously Pogba is further up the pitch at these stages, so we can get caught short with midfield runners. Stoke really highlighted that part, Stephen Ireland was ghosting in unmarked too many times. They didn't punish up but good teams can and will.

I have a feeling Mourinho will want Sanchez on the left and save Martial as an impact sub.
