He can't get a whistle from the ref and has to drop way too far back to even get a ball. He could do better but I'm not gonna blame our strikers much when our midfield is such a ridiculous clusterfeck. The things Fletcher and Cleverley are doing are disgraceful and even Mata is often times dropping too far back and not a passing station for us when we're trying to counter.Hamez for Fletch?

I'm finding it hard. I am watching the match and imagining that the opposition was Juventus, Athletico, or BvB instead of a Sunderland team made up of mostly castoffs.Our wingbacks are defending like wingers and attacking like full backs. We need pace - people running in behind and at defenders. Shocking display from too many players...Having Fletcher and Cleverley on the pitch is like being 2 men down.Let's be honest. When the midfield lineup of Fletcher, Cleverley, Valencia and Young was announced, did any of you expect a good result?What happened to the pressing from the preseason? Only Sunderland seemed to do any of that in the half.
