I'm finding it hard. I am watching the match and imagining that the opposition was Juventus, Athletico, or BvB instead of a Sunderland team made up of mostly castoffs.Our wingbacks are defending like wingers and attacking like full backs. Shocking display from too many players...Having Fletcher and Cleverley on the pitch is like being 2 men down.Let's be honest. When the midfield lineup of Fletcher, Cleverley, Valencia and Young was announced, did any of you expect a good result?What happened to the pressing from the preseason? Only Sunderland seemed to do any of that in the half.

I don't think it'd matter who the wingers are. Expecting them to cover a whole wing singlehandedly is just crazy. Completely stifles the attack.

True. That midfield is still a worry though.Piss poor sums that half up. The only outfielders that been anything other than all over the place have been the front three and Blackett at times. Rooney and van Persie must be wondering what the hell's going on. Cleverley and Fletcher's touches have been shocking; playing like the ball is a bomb about to go off. We've got to be better in the second half.
I'd bring Kagawa on and get him to start helping Mata to provide service for the front two.- Status
