Very few teams I don’t look forward to watching us play. This lot are top of the pile for that though. Horrible, shithousing cnuts who are completely opposed to playing an actual game of football, I think they may actually be worse than Atletico.

Montiel needs firing out of a cannon into the sun.

Agreed. At least he's suspended for tonight.

Going by recent history, we don't perform well away at Spanish opposition. The main reason I put this down to is our inability to retain possession, the constant turnover of ball means we spend an inordinate amount of time having to defend our box.

ETH has certainly improved this aspect, and I would like to think that we have enough quality to score and defend a lead...but that would have to be a big lead!

I feel this is going to be a fairly easy one for us despite all the negativity. Eth will make sure the team knows that the first leg was an aberration and we will see a robust away performance unlike so often on the past against es teams.

This is such a big test today. Missing Varane, Martinez and Bruno is tough, they are together with Casemiro our cement this season. Will we crumble without them?
If we pull this off we will reap the rewards for the future.

We are a better team than Sevilla even without Varane, Licha and Bruno.

If the players don't shit their pants with the hostile crowd and occasion, we should win this fairly comfortably.

Why so many people are afraid of losing is beyond me. Sevilla is really poor in attack, so chances are they don’t actually score.

Yes it could be 0-0, in which case penalties are massively in their favour, but I am sure we will be able to score, and very likely more than 1 goal

The upside is this is the last game we'll play against a Spanish side this season either way. I think we need to go front foot and definitely dont be scared of them. They offered nothing in the first game and got 2 of the spawniest OGs you will see.
Seven games so far against Spanish teams. We only lost one of those games and that was because of a handball penalty.

He's not been in a squad for us at any level since the Fulham QF, he played for England U19 at the end of March but nothing since, may be injured.
I stand corrected then. Must have been a different youth player who made a recent bench.

At least we have some players back now which is a positive. Not sure which players are carrying a potential yellow card suspension for the semi finals but put that to one side for now and just focus on getting the job done tonight. Could have had this game all but done and dusted last week if it wasn’t for the player’s downing tools after 35 mins by gifting them the opportunity to get back into the game which they took. Anyways it’s happened now and it’s up to them to put that right tonight. I reckon ETH will stick with the same team that we had against Forest at the weekend with the only change as expected being Sabitzer in for Bruno. Will bring Rashford on roundabout the hour mark or possibly earlier if required. Reckon it’ll be a scrappy, low scoring game.

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Maguire - Lindelof -Dalot

    Eriksen - Casemiro - Sabitzer

    Antony - Martial - Sancho

Butland, Vitek, Malacia, Shaw, Fred, Iqbal, Pellistri, Elanga, Rashford, Weghorst

    Sevilla 0-1 Manchester United

True, but with a full strength midfield I think this shouldn't be as much of an issue.

He was awful in the previous leg. Looked shaky as hell, uncomfortable on the ball and even managed to switch off at the back post resulting in an OG.

Nobody disputes the fact that he had a shocker. Maybe I should have been clearer, but at no point did I say he was great.

What I was aiming at, clearly along with other posters, was your idiotic statement wishing an injury on a player.

there were some decent teams in there, not the stature of United, but West Ham, Wolves, Lazio, Inter, PSV, Fenerbahce ..

Wolves & Inter weren't at home and the others yeah not all were shite obviously but Sevilla will still have been favourites

So annoying that we’re stuck playing these pieces of shit while City are off playing Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in a few weeks

I didn’t realise how bad Sevilla have been this season. They aren’t far off relegation.

16 points off top 4 and 38 points off the top!

Considering how we handled the last 10 minutes last Thursday it’s probably just as well

Depends on how you define "recent". Five wins and two draws on our last seven visits to Spain. We have a worse record at Old Trafford in the same timeframe, funnily enough.
