Seven games so far against Spanish teams. We only lost one of those games and that was because of a handball penalty.

Yes which was dodgy as hell.. also I only remembered this morning it was on the day of the Queen's passing so the stadium was all subdued.

Not confident. Needed Bruno in this game. Also Martinez and Varane missing means Dangerous Dave is going to be only a shot stopping keeper and not be coming to the front.
He also won't have confidence in the defense and the defense won't have confidence in Dave coming to collect the high balls in the air. Pessimism galore. :(

If we start fast and Martial can put pressure up front and we get a couple of goals like last week, i think we should be able to hold on as last week was pure bad luck with those late goals.
Eriksen coming back and Casemiro being there and knowing the stadium will be helpful. Need Sabitzer to be back to full fitness. Basically all who play need to be at the top of their game to go through.

We are a better team than Sevilla even without Varane, Licha and Bruno.

If the players don't shit their pants with the hostile crowd and occasion, we should win this fairly comfortably.

Unfortunately it is not always about who is the better team.
It is all about who performs on the night.
As EtH says, United only played for 60 minutes in the first leg.
Do that again and we are out.

I think with Eriksen, Casemiro and (I'm assuming) Sabitzer we may be a bit more composed so that may help us.

Casemiro will be huge in this, last game was his first back for a bit and was a bit rusty. Hopefully tonight he gives a 9 or 10 out of 10.

Going by recent history, we don't perform well away at Spanish opposition. The main reason I put this down to is our inability to retain possession, the constant turnover of ball means we spend an inordinate amount of time having to defend our box.

ETH has certainly improved this aspect, and I would like to think that we have enough quality to score and defend a lead...but that would have to be a big lead!
Utd v Spanish clubs away this season

    R Sociedad 0- 1 Man Utd
    Barcelona 2 - 2 Man Utd
    R Betis 0 - 1 Man Utd

    I didn't wish injury on a player . It's called a joke...

"I'd feel more confident if Malacia got injured"

Apologies, not wishing injury, just that you'd be more confident if he did. Yeah that sarcasm came across great.

Are Shaw, Sabitzer and Rashford really going to start?

Ten Hag has been really cautious with injured players, so far, I'd be surprised if he threw caution to the wind this evening.

Bringing them on for the last 20 odd minutes, if we're still chasing a goal, would seem more likely.

With Bruno out, I think Sabi might start. If we are winning comfortably, Shaw and Rashford don’t need to come on

Quietly confident about a win here. Really hope we end the week still in 2 competitions. Let’s go Reds!!!

If it's fitness, he could come on late in the game. If there is any question regarding his injury recovery, he should not be risked. We have plenty of important matches left that he is needed for.

I never expected Marcus to start - he's there purely as a rescue option.

Hopefully we get it done without him and we have him raring to go on Sunday

Garnacho is not in the squad. Not anytime soon.

We score first I think we go on and win comfy, if we concede first it's going to be a long night. They will dig in and give us no space waste time like ALL the Spanish sides do. Just score first lads..

I’m really looking forward to this. I think we’ll nullify them & make them look as average as we did until the Malacia brain-fart. EtH won’t let that crap happen again & Dalot at LB might be the revelation we never knew we needed with Shaw either absent or required at CB.

I don't quite get how people are saying we can beat them 2-0 or 3-0.

They are the ones who have a full strength team (we don't).
They are at home and have an excellent home record (we have a very poor away record).
They have a history of doing very well in the EL (we don't).

Can someone who thinks we will win, give a logical argument?

We have a better backline and the 2 best midfielders on the pitch in Eriksen and Casemiro. Even away, I'd fancy that recipe to edge it.

Do we even have eleven fit players?

    Think so.

    Sancho-Martial-Antony
    -------Eriksen--Fred--------
    ----------Casemiro----------
    Dalot-Shaw-Lindelof-WanBissaka
    --------------De Gea---------------------------

Should all be fit, though not sure if Eriksen can go more than an hour at this stage.

They are game raising cnuts. We saw it last game. Hoping for a 1-0 win and rush home to safety.

Did we? They were shite then brain-farts, early subs and injuries fecked us. Not sure Sevilla did much to impact events. Expect them to be better tonight, mind.
