    This team would

    A) Demolish Perston.
    B) Get us top 3.
    C) Provide exciting football.
    D) Never see the light of day in a Louis van Gaal side.

It is an interesting team on paper. Simple, potentially very effective and direct, but we will probably never see it as it's not "defensively solid."

A nice 1-1 draw to get the replay back to Old Trafford. Shexy voetbal.
A replay would be quite good for us actually. Yes I'd rather see us demolish Preston but I don't think our problems will be fixed overnight so the more games we get before spring time the better.

For some inexplicable reason this seems to me like one of these games we win comfortably. We score three or four. I feel it in my ... bones.

Can we just get away from the shite we have seen lately.

    DDG
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind
    DiMaria Rooney Januzaj
    RVP

Strong squad, and please play balanced team, we need to win with style and going through

Does anyone know how the tie has gone down in Preston.

I remember in the mid-70s meeting a mate of mine at Preston station to get down to United. One side of the platform was full of Scouse fans, the other side full of United. PNE fans just used to look on in bemusement as the hatred was displayed across the tracks.

PNE a definite sleeping giant of the past.

Moyes' major legacy in OT was fear. It still seems to cling, radiation-like, to the tunnel entrance and the pitch and especially the coach seats for away games. Giggs' expression during matches is of worry and anxiety. The atmosphere in the dugout seems too damn serious and strict. When the level of expectation is less, say against stronger opposition, they often do better. Let's be less fearful on Monday night. Let's forget about reputations, wage bills and even the great history of the club and just go out and play. If we do, I think we will hammer this lot.

I'd like to see this team

    Valdes
    Rafael-Smalling-Evans-James
Blind (ideally Pereira but i know it wont happen)
    Fellaini-Herrera
    Mata
    Rooney-Wilson

Their manager, Simon Grayson, was the guy in charge of Leeds when they knocked us out of the FA Cup a few years ago

    ------------- DDG ------------
    Raf -- Smalling -- Rojo -- Shaw
    ------- Herrera ----- Blind -----
    ------------ Mata -------------
    Adnan ------------------- AdM
    ----------- Rooney -----------

    Would be nice.

Move the bulk of the passing up to the middle third. Blind, Herrera and Mata should be able to put together plenty of combinations. The wingers need to push up and create space. Rooney can float into channels or drop back behind the wingers as needs be.

Basically a bit like second half yesterday but with better balance and players in more natural positions.

1-1 and we'll beat them in the replay.

Their manager, Simon Grayson, was the guy in charge of Leeds when they knocked us out of the FA Cup a few years ago

Don't remind me of that. Awful day. Leeds...

No real confidence that we'll win this. We'll probably play a striker and defender in midfield, play a winger at full back, call it 'philosophy' and wonder why we're not winning.

Only thing I'm fairly certain of going into this tie is that Ander Herrera is going to be a sub.

The odds are that we will draw this game.
We specialise in drawing away from home and scoring 3 goals in our home game.
    So, my prediction: 1-1.

    ------- Herrera ----- Blind -----
    ------------ Mata -------------
    Adnan ------------------- AdM
    ----------- Rooney -----------

Rooney is now a midfielder. Not a striker.
I doubt you will ever see him play as a striker for Man Utd, again.

My girlfriend is from Preston and all her family are Preston fans.

Been invited to watch this one in a box should be a good laugh.

Just hoping that LVG sees the light that we're a team who just simply need to play with width, one out-and-out striker and someone in behind, with two actual midfield players in there somewhere...

    de Gea
    Rafael Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Fellaini Herrera
    Januzaj Rooney Di Maria
    Wilson

FullTimeDevils predict 3-2 to Preston, with us only grabbing one when they stop defending for 10 seconds.

Monday night? Just feck off with all these shit kick-off times.
I won't be watching this one either.
