Is anyone here thinking these post match interview is very unlike Man United in the sense that the tone and feel after a win against a team in League one division (which could have easily been beaten by our young reserved players alone!) sounds complacent and somewhat lacking in confidence? Maybe LvG needs some training in giving interviews!!

My point is, teams aren't playing United with fear any more. Even a Preston had shown they were a bit capable of upsetting our applecart. When do you think we can gain back our fear factor or it will only be in our dreams in the next two years or so. SIGH

I watch all sorts of CUp matches and i dion'yt see many lower level clubs playing afraid. Was Bradford afraid of Chelsea. What about Middlesborough against Man. City. From what I've seen, lower division clubs seem to play without fear.

Ahh... I am not talking about Chelsea or Man City! I am talking about Man United. You probably have not known but teams (even top 4) came to OT playing with fear under Fergie not to mention lower league teams. To them coming to OT was just an honour, and didnt they dare to win. Anyway, its all in the past now of course! Sigh

What is there to fear when you're expected to get tonked?
Thats the thing! Our manager's lack of confidence in his voice and demeanor (at Pressie and post match interviews) must have instilled in the players in the dressing room. Players no matter how skillful and fit, when playing without conviction and confidence, are bound to lose out.

Teams set up conservatively in some cases but I haven't seen much of that in the FA Cup over the years. It's not as if teams roll over and play dead. It is true, however, that United dictated the play a lot more under SAF.

    what game were you watching?

The same as you I bet. I'm not that big of a fan of Falcao but he wasn't worse than Rooney the time both were on the same pitch. That's not saying much because both were very poor. Obviously Rooney improved after Falcao got subsituted but wasn't doing that well either. But he scored a goal despite a pathetic dive to get that penalty. Unlike against Burnley, where he was abysmal, Falcao actually managed to keep the ball reasonable well yesterday. I'm not looking to sugar coat his performance(s), as they are pretty shit, but atleast he managed to do something positive a few times. Way better than against Burnley (he did well to get in that position). Once again, that doesn't mean I'm praising him. Nor that I prefer Falcao to Rooney up top, which I don't.

Sums it up a bit for me when during one of our few good moves during the first half, where Falcao got clattered in midfield but still managed to get the ball to a teammate giving us a good break option, we got snide comments like "where the hell was Falcao?" instead of actually praising his good involvement. That would never happen with Rooney. Falcao has been horrible in 2015 but so has Rooney. Falcao doesn't bother me that much because the club clearly can't be that mad that they even consider a permanent deal for him, but Rooney gets to play no matter what. "He's my captain so he shall always play". He's fast becoming our Gerrard.
