Apparently its Thursday morning... We'll see I guess. Doubt he'll play in both this game and the game against arsenal because of the extra travelling he'll need to do and because he'll miss training on Thursday.
Mata and carrick in for him and falcao though and overall I think we'd be fine, if he is out.

How long does it really take to fly chartered between Manchester and Spain?

No idea but I'd imagine he'd miss training for that day most likely I'd imagine. Either way, Van Gaal might look at those games and try to put more defensive cover in, so he might have been tempted to switch it up anyways, and this doesn't really help herrera's case though it can't have that big of an impact really. We'll see I guess.

    DDG

    Valencia - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw

    Blind

    Mata - Herrera

Di Maria - Rooney - Januzaj

If Di Maria is being a nab again, Januzaj/Young.

Young has to start really, Di Maria might be better coming on 65-70 mins when the opposition are tired, he could maybe have more of an impact, on form he as no right to be starting just now.

Would go with the rest of the ream though, but think it will be Rooney where Mata is, and Falcao up top.

In theory we should be able to beat this Newcastle side with ease but with our away record this season a draw would actually be a terrific result. I just hope Liverpool don't go above us on Wednesday, they play Burnley at home which is as good as a certain win.

4 points from 3 games against Sunderland, Swansea and Newcastle would be a complete disaster

Right before the games get truly difficult too.

    Di maria will not start.
    DDG
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind Herrara
    Januzaj Mata Young
    Rooney

Lets see if you're actually any good with these Sat, Wed, Sat games. ;) :p

    --------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia-Smalling-Rojo-----Shaw
    ---------------Blind----------------
    ---------Herrera--Mata------------
    ----Di Maria-------------Young----

Think it's more likely we'll see Falcao for Mata and 2 up top, but i'd love this.

Given our away form and how tough a place SJP park is to go to, I am really surprised at the number of people predicting a win. The best we will get out of this game is a draw, I suppose, but we might very well lose this.

    Valencia - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    Herrera - Blind
    Mata
    Januzaj - Rooney - Young

Herrera Carrick or Blind and Mata in front then a 3 of Rooney up top and Young and Di Maria
Of course i meant Di Maria and not another Blind in the line-up ;)

Yeah i would like your front 6

Newcastle have lost just 3 times at home (Manchester City, Sunderland & Southampton) and our away record is awful so the stats are speaking against us

But if we don't beat Newcastle on Wednesday then my hope for a top 4 finish flies away

Assuming Herrera or his mind is off in Spain

    -------------DDG-----------
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw/Young
    ---Fellaini----Blind-----ADM------
    --------- Mata ----------------
    ----- Rooney----- Wilson------

Subs: Valdes/Lindegaard, Falcao, McNair, Januzaj, Blackett, Carrick

Newcastle have lost just 3 times at home (Manchester City, Sunderland & Southampton)

They still have Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham, West Brom and Swansea to play at home.

They did beat Everton Liverpool and Chelsea but Everton are bottom half of the table and that was when Liverpool probably also was. Chelsea was a freak result.

Draws with Burnley, Stoke, Palace, Hull.

I am not beaming with confidence but your stats were a bit skewed since they have a lot of tough games coming up at home.

    Not so certain.

Freak results or not but at the end of the day they have beaten this clubs at home......and to be honest it's not really about if Newcastle have 0 home defeats or 10 home defeats

With our away record this season.....i wouldn't even confident right now with an away match at Championship side Wigan (2 home wins in 17 games)

    I wouldn't mind seeing this:

    ------------DDG
    Rafael Smalling Rojo Shaw
    --------Carrick Blind
    ADM -----Mata -----Young
    ----------Rooney

Rafa for Valencia. Young left back w/ Januzaj on one of the wings. Herrera for Mata. These are alternative selections I could see happening/wouldn't mind happening. I don't think for one second we'll play like this but it's what I'd like to see in an away game.

Mata behind Rooney is a combo we have not seen enough of as yet but i think it would be our best option. With RVP's injury and Flopcao being just a dark haired Forlan, now is the perfect time to give it a go.

    DDG
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Young
    Blind Carrick
    Di Maria Mata Januzaj
    Rooney

    Job done!!!

Januzaj and Young definitely deserve to start. ADM on the bench. Hoping for Mata behind Rooney. And if Herrera wont be there cause of the trip Carrick should step in

Always a physical challenge going to St James Park. We need to be good defensively because I think that recently we were not that good behind, especially away from home. Newcastle new 4-4-2 can help us because Papiss Cisse and Moussa Sissokho are not at their best. Hope our wingers will test their full backs.

It can be surprising, but I won’t play Di Maria again this match. Januzaj and Young deserved to be played again. And Fellaini can cope better with the likes of Sissokho in the middle, and even help against Collocini and Williamson

Each and every game is a final from now on. Our fixtures ahead are tough, and the game on Wednesday is the easiest one this month, it seems. A must win.
DDG, Rafa, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Herrera, Januzaj, Wayne, AdM, Falcao (4-2-3-1).

Either Smalling, Jones or Evans next to Rojo, they're all much for muchness. Would usually suggest Rafael as right-back and Shaw as left-back, but one has been completely forgotten by LVG and the other has disappointed in most games. Valencia and Young might actually be a better bet in those positions, provided Blind tucks in to help the centre backs.

    Valencia ---- Smalling ---- Rojo ---- Young

    ----------- Blind -------- Herrera

I hope to see this as Shaw should be fine to play.

    -------------------De Gea

    Valencia ---- Smalling ---- Rojo ---- Shaw

    ----------- ----- --Carrick

If Shaw isn't fit replace him with Young and Di Maria can play on the wing. Maybe Di Maria should sit out for this one.

Di Maria needs to sit this out. It will help him like it did when we benched De Gea.

    This. Maybe Smalling for Jones.
Of course, I just took into account that it's a midweek game and he might want to keep the centre backs fresh.
