When we were 0-0 there's no place for Falcao ??!!

Why we didnt deserve to win? We missed alot and we were the better team. Give your self a break.

Di Maria is a new player in a new country and a new team plus injuries, that's the difference. To call him the worst signing ever is just a joke for me. He also won us already games and had good games against PNE and the following league game, so it's not like he was always bad this year either. And not seen worse by Nani? Then you just have not watched many games from him. But people love to rewrite history with players who are not here anymore, Nani is awesome, we could need Welbeck, Rafael is getting better and more important after every week he is not in the squad. And the shit team and especially shit strikers are a argument for me, Di Maria's main strenght is to create something for players like Falcao, van Persie, or Rooney. But their form is so shocking and our play overall so static, that it doesn't really help him. People blame him when he tries to run past 2,3 players, but ignore that the only option for him was another pointless sideways pass followed by another pointless cross who wouldn't do any danger at all.

Don't get me wrong, I am not happy with him either, especially for that kind of money. But it was our own fault that we spend so much on him (he is a great player, but 75 million euros was always too expensive) and right now people are just (like with LvG) way too harsh with him, when others around him are doing even worse.
Because saying 'this' seems too modish to me, I'll just simply agree with you.

I can't believe we won that, despite Newcastle being dreadful, and us dominating. We could have played for 10hrs and not scored. They handed it to us in the end.

Oh dear! My heart! Bloody happy with those 3 points - could not care less how we got it! Get in that boy Young! Don't care if it was lucky:)

That hustling by Rooney at the end caused the mistake for the goal.

It's good to see he has such drive so late in the game.

Should have reverted to 4-4-2 with Falcao up front with Rooney

They tried to hand it to us earlier but we politely declined :)

    We deserved to win.

Sure, they should have had a penalty, they missed a handful of sitters, and De Gea was in God mode, but we still deserved to win. :wenger:

Luck is important, thanks to Rooney's help

We are playing so slowly it is depressing. No pace whatsoever. Possession possession and hopefully something will happen.

I am happy that Evans is back though. Last two games are much more like it

Was happy with our performance up until around the 78th minute. The lack of urgency we showed after that, needing a goal, was mindblowing. Really fortunate in the end, and I thank Rooney and De Gea for. We had the chances to win this comfortably but we instead made it difficult for ourselves.

    Positives apart from Rooney and De Gea;

Valencia looks like he's really coming into his own at RB. I think we're finally finding our best team set-up. Smalling apart from his daft mistake which should've been punished, was very good overall again. Thought our CM with Fellaini, Herrera and Blind worked quite well. Carrick back.

Easily deserved to win. Ref was poor throughout and while they should have had a penalty, Rooney clearly onside when he put ball in. Yes DDG made some good saves but Krull made at least one briliant one too. Getting bit bored with Paul Scholes' attempt to be clever Mr Rentaquote

Has a gif of Giggs/LvG celebration come up somewhere on the forum? Missed it..

It's easy to give Super Dave the MOTM, his saves kept us in it as usual. But Rooney did what he's famous for today, he worked hard and show an array of skill and used that good old United spirit of never giving up and forced a silly error to give us a goal. Really happy with him up front tonight, think he needs to be there from now on, Falcao simply isn't working and RvP is injured the majority of the time.

Rooney gets my vote for MoM

That's the thing here, Rooney just needs to work hard to get his MOTM award. For me he was pretty much pointless today. The only good thing he did today was to put Krul and the defender under pressure, but it was still their fault. He also should easily scored in the first half, not happy with him at all.

Michael Owen spot on, on BT Sport just now, for once.
Finishing fourth isn't and shouldn't be regarded as a success. It's par for the course (at best) and the fact that he's struggling to stay in the top four places should tell you he isn't doing such a great job.

-The ref was awful. The worst refereeing I've seen since our loss against Leicester.

-Evans needs to be sold. He's declining rather than improving and he comes off as too insecure. He hasn't got the mentality to be a United-player.

-Something is wrong with Di Maria. Guillem Balague who knows him very well said that he is very affected by the break-in situation and his family isn't handling it very well. He probably isn't 100% focused on football right now. I'm certain he'll come back next season.

-We must be the most boring team to watch in the league for neutral fans as we dominate all games completly while killing them by creating very few chances.

It's good to see he has such drive so late in the game.

His comit can never be questioned. Did you see him passing six United players back tracking when Newcastle set off on a counter attack. He sets a good example for his teammates. now they just have to follow his led. It's why picked him as the MOM. I thought he made a lot of good runs but the ball wasn't coming early enough. De Gea was great as well.

I was really disappointed with Blind and Herrera. They need to be a lot better. Blind in particular didn't track back on the play in which Newcastle should have been award a penalty in the first half. I thought their service was sub par. On the giveaway by Herrera, I did think he was fouled to be fair to him.

    Agreed.

Louis Van Gaal post match interview:

His finishing could have been better, the chip over the keeper in the first half should have been a goal and normally you'd expect one from him, but I can forgive missing a chance that took some good play to be created in the first place. He didn't have his busiest night but for me every time he seemed to touch the ball he did (or at least tried) to do something positive with it. Think he was important for us last night personally.

More worrying for me is that LvG said this was our best game of the season. It seemed an improvement over recent performances, bt still not the most thrilling to watch.
