I read on liveonsat that this is on freebies in Ireland on setanta Ireland.

It doesn't effect most of us but for our Irish brothers I'd thought I'd pass it on.

    De Gea
    McNair--Smalling--Blind--CBJ
    Fellaini--Schneiderlin--Herrera
    Pereira--Rooney--Memphis

subs: Romero, Love, Carrick, Weir, Mata, Martial, Keane

If McNair is injured then start Love or Varela (depending on fitness).

His team selections don't really surprise me anymore. Not that I have been doing well with the predictor anyways.
Fellaini might be important here. Midgetland might need a ladder to challenge him aerially.

    De Gea
    Love - Smalling - Blind - CBJ
    Carrick - Morgan
    Januzaj - Mata - Martial
    Rooney

Some fans will be bringing this to the game, utterley ridiculous that the club is making fans pay that much to watch tumescent football. Fair play to them.

I don't think Martial needs a rest as some say he does, didn't Sterling play as many at his age? And Messi maybe? Neymar? Ronaldo? They all seem to be fine.

As far as I know, these guys are still out: Darmian, Jones, Varela, Rojo, Januzaj, Young, Schweinsteiger, Valencia, and Shaw. It's hard to see if we could really rest anyone in preparation for Arsenal but...

    de Gea
    Love McNair Blind Borthwick-Jackson
    Schneiderlin Herrera
    Pereira Fellaini Memphis
    Keane
    ---
Romero; Smalling; Carrick, Lingard, Mata; Rooney, Martial

That's probably the only way to rest Smalling, Carrick, Mata, Rooney, Martial (and I suppose Lingard) for the Arsenal game. The side might look a little weak, even for such an opponent. However, we'd still have a return leg to fix this if we were to lose and I'm sure we can at least score an away goal over there even if we have one of our worst performances.

Edit: Just realised it's FA Cup weekend already, we play Arsenal the weekend after.

That backfour is so risky. McNair, Love and CBJ are just inexperience player. I will play the same backfour against Sunderland but McNair will be my right back instead. I'll rest Carrick. We ain't messing around in Europe League, so I will play both Martial and Rooney again. Midtjylland cannot be underestimated. We all know what happen if we play too many U21 players against MK Dons last season.

Only 800 fans going so it's around £40k total increase on normal costs, don't really see why the Danish club have bothered, is it really worth all the negative press? It's not like they can buy a new player with all that extra cash or something is it?

I seriously reckon that our club should refund our loyal travelling fans the difference (out of Memphis's wages :p) IMO. Then when the FC Midgitland fans come to us we should charge them 350% higher prices for their tickets too!

So... Rooney is injured and hasn't travelled.

Martial in the middle and a run out for Memphis on the left?!

    De Gea

    Love/Riley
    Smalling
    McNair
    Blind

    Herrera
    Schneiderlin

    Lingard
    Mata
    Memphis

    Martial

I'd say, can't see both Love and Riley getting first starts together.

I know we have a lot of injuries and it's good to give the young players a chance but 8 youth players in an 18 man squad is too much.We have the same number of senior outfield players as we do academy players. Our squad depth is appalling and really needs to be addressed in the summer, particularly by replacing the likes of Jones and Rojo with players that can actually stay fit.

Ddg, McNair, smalling, Carrick, blind, Morgan, Herrera, Pereira, lingard, Memphis, martial

Obviously the first noticeable absence is Rooney but where is CBJ?

I'd rather Pereeira got a start than Memphis.

    Serious question..

Why aren't we taking the Europa League seriously? Surely it's now our best shot at CL qualification? It's really confusing me.

So who's our fullbacks? Could be Blind Love, but then who's at CB ... McNair Smalling I guess. And this must be the sort of opposition Memphis will be able to handle. Hopefully Pereira will at least get a few minutes. A start would be good actually.

I think we are taking it seriously. The only player who I think we haven't put in the squad for anything other than an injury/fitness issue is maybe Fellaini? That could be a discipline reason as I know there were stories the other day about a nightclub altercation...

Seems daft to omit Borthwick-Jackson from the squad. Has Rooney been left out too or is he injured?

I heard yesterday evening that Rooney is injured and will be out for a few weeks (maybe more!)

At the time I was sceptical as you never know when people claim to have any inside info... but now I'm thinking it's maybe legit

I think we will miss Fellaini, don't these score plenty from set pieces?

Think this could be the line-up, then:

    De Gea
    Love Smalling McNair Blind
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Lingard Mata Memphis
    Martial
    Chance for Memphis to step-up.

Imagine if we had Blind and Love playing centre back. Blind Love. Get it? Blind Lo... oh forget it.
