I really hope we take this competition seriously and don't put in half-arsed performances like we did when we played Bilbao in 2012.

The fact that top 4 doesn't seem attainable at this point might help in that respect but I still doubt we have the quality to beat the better sides in the competition.

We haven't got a cat in hells chance of winning the EL. The way we are playing we can't even guarantee EL football next season. What has he done to us?

Liverpoolsation mate. We are bang average. Anyone can do us these days. It ain't even hard. Our board aren't even trying to change things. United haven't been at this level since Ron Atkinson, and those who remember tell me the football was better back when Robbo was really Robbo. We're garbage. Villa will probably beat us this season.

    Football Was better than :(

I expect us to progress comfortably past this round, similar to the Brugge games. This competition has to be the priority now. We should be resting players in PL games to prepare for it. It's good that there is Spurs v Fiorentina, Dortmund v Porto and Napoli v Villareal in this round because some of the best teams are guaranteed to be knocked out. We need luck in the draw because we have absolutely no chance against Napoli or Dortmund over two legs but maybe in a final we could surprise them.

I don't remember the real Robbo well. The Robbo I remember was coming down from his best. Ince was gradually moving beyond him as the heart of our midfield. Would've been great to see him at his peak.

Someone start a Robbo thread! Since Liverpoolisation is well underway I see no reason not to start living in the past!

Next year is our year!!:lol:

    A goal keeper
    Some defenders
    A few mid fielders
    Two wingers
    A striker

    2-1 loss

LvG did say that Europa is probably our best route now to CL place next season so expect to see a strong lineup.

I'm actually looking forward to this. I know it's the Europa League, but it is European football. I miss our European nights, even if it's against the likes of Midtjylland.

Strong line up will be put out, LVG wouldn't dare mess about with this now.

    What I want to see:

    De Gea
    Love Smalling Blind Borthwick Jackson
    Herrera Carrick
    Mata
    Lingard Rooney Martial
We weren't great yesterday, but I don't think that should mean changing up the team too much. We've arguably had our best run in the last few games and had some decent moments in the game. We created chances against Sunderland, albeit, not that many. They just seemed to want it more than us on the day, which is a shame, since a win was vital yesterday. I'm hoping the team can pick themselves up for this game and give us a good performance.

What I would like to see:
    -----------DDG-----------
    Love-Smalling-Blind-CBJ
    --Schneiderlin-Herrera--
    Lingard--Perreira--Depay
    ---------Martial-----------
feels like we need some energy and new ideas, doubt it will happen though.

    I'm the exact opposite

So, the same lineup which lost to Sunderland (+ Fellaini)?
Is that the strong line up you are referring to?

Nope, I was talking about the u21s of course. Top of the table with 2 point lead and a game in hand!

Well their last home European game ended with a 5 nil beating against Napoli. So I'm going for a 1-1 draw. Nah we really should be stuffing this lot like Brugge but I cant see us having it easy away from home so I'm going for 1-2.

I'd keep same team but bring back Fellaini and obviously Love will have to play with no other option. I'd drop Morgan as looks well below his level and although Carrick was equally as shite v Sunderland I'd go with him for experience.

The likes of Depay and Pereira should surely get some game time v Shrewsbury.

I hope Herrera gets some gametime at some point.

Going for a 3-1 win and I have no idea why, just got a hunch.

Yeah me too but he seems to be very out of favour with LvG. No one will benefit more from a new manager than Ander in my opinion.

Adnan, Pereira, Depay and Wilson say hi.

I can't imagine an open revolt against LVG is too far away at this point.
