Matic played centre back against young Boys, Mctominay is use to playing at centre back for Scotland.

I presume Phil Jones starting will be the last option but let's be honest if he does he can't be much worse than Maguire this season

Bailey, we let him go to African Nations when we are short of defenders.

Bailly was in Spain for a few days before he was recalled by the club. They needed him due to Lindelof's Covid protocol and not wanting to play Varane from the off after Burnley.

Club knew what they were doing releasing him early, but with the benefit of recalling him, which they did.

    Give over

I’m sure Maguire just has some reason that meant he needed to join up late!

I’d go 4-4-2 again with Sancho and Elanga as the two wide players probably with Fred and McT. Cavani and Rashford up top as I suspect CR7 is in need of a rest.

How come Bailly has gone already when all the other African players played for their clubs this round of fixtures?

Going by the players that have been spotted, I’ll go:

    DDG
    Dalot McT Varane Shaw
    VdB Matic
    Mason Sancho
    Cavani Ronaldo

Hope we win, albeit it’ll be very difficult. 1-0 United maybe.

Jones playing for United in 2022 would be the most United thing ever.

Jones shouldn't be anywhere near Manchester let alone near our squad.

Should have made Bailey stay instead of going to catch Covid in Africa

Epicentre of the Omicron outbreak is Europe, not Africa. His name is Eric Bailly, he’s been at the club for a good while now. Please keep up.

Exactly. Anybody going to the ACON from the PL is way more likely to catch COVID in England than any country in Africa.

    Watch United on Monday
    Have a moan on Tuesday
We were Ralfy out on Wednesday and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
    We go again on Sunday
Why weren’t you pressing real hard last night
Why did I see two no.6s moving in the Old Trafford lights,
When I left you were dressed in red
    Now you’re dressed in black,
    Can you fill me in?
Forum diverted to “cannae take the strain captain”
Casillero del Diablo half the contents gone
Redcafe back online all the scousers on,
    Can you fill me in?

Jones just because Maguire needs to be dropped.

Can Cavani with his injury record play 3 games in 8 days? He might be better of the bench tonight.

    Routine victory.

0-0 draw with Chelsea and 0-1 losses to City and Liverpool in their last 4 games, the last one being a 1-0 win against Brighton. Not going to be a routine victory. But hopefully a victory.

No Maguire, Lindelof or Bailly with the squad according to that .. Phil Jones at CB?

    Philip Jonah, for reals?

Let's pray they cut the grass short enough so the poor guy doesn't trip over and shatter his pelvis in the warmup.

VdB starting, optimistic considering the United manager has 75000 random fans to call upon from the stands.

Maguire has been terrible, but should dropped for someone = or better, imo Lindalof when his fit.

Does anyone know the reasoning for a 5:30pm kick off on a Monday? Isn’t festive season over so this is a bit odd on what is technically a normal work day.

New Years Day as the 1st/2nd was a weekend - this isn’t a normal work day, it’s a bank holiday.

Think that it will be maybe our 7th or 8th game playing in 442, or 4222, and dont see the benefits of it.

We still dont recover the ball quick enough, our defense is still exposed.

Worse, we rely on our midfield duo to create since Bruno is on down the left line.

I would like to see us having a run in 5212, with Bruno more centrally.

Anyway, think we will see a classic 4222, but I m pretty sure that it will be a boring game, and Wolves will outplay us.

    Absolutely no chance Jones starts.

    It’d be McTominay - Varane

Well we’re unbeaten since Ole left and our last few performances using Ole’s 4-2-3-1 were abysmal so I’d say there have been improvements. Still nowhere good enough!!

I'm genuinely looking forward to Jones playing. He's had a horrible time with injuries, the constant trolling has affected his life and mental well being.

If he's fit, I trust him to try his best in a United shirt, whatever that level might be. I can't say that for everyone in our squad.

I’m hopeful of a win. But it’s gonna be a struggle. These lot make it difficult for any team but seems to be the hardest thing in the world for us to beat them.

    1-1.

Letting players travel around the world for pointless games is risking covid related issues.

    I stand by this.

Why do you think other countries pro sports leagues like NHL have banned their players from going to the Olympics even though, it's in their playing contracts they can go, which has been ignored.

Risks are high everywhere United are short on defenders and we let one of our better ones go travelling.

Unless we are about to sign a Solid Defender this week, it's gonna be a big mistake.

Wolves last game was postponed due to covid hitting their players. I expect they may still be depleted. They will park the bus and hope to nick a goal on the break..
Not heard anything about Maguire being injured.
Its A game we should win.

Just seen that United are for a second time this week, looking to bring Bailly back if possible.

    What a farce.
