Might be time to drop Maguire? He's been out of form for a solid 12months now and showing no sign he's going to regain it. Bench him for whoever - I wouldn't be opposed to giving Mctominay a try back there. Let's face it, he can't be any worse than the alternatives.

Once other CBs are fully fit I think Ralf will drop him.
    No passengers.

Yeah, but that's the trouble, the other CB's aren't up to much :p

For all the talk of bringing in a new DM, I think a new CB is equally important, more so in many respects.

I'm not sure about our ability to recall Garner.
If we can, we certainly should.
I don't think they are going to spend in this window.

Shameful if true. It’s clear we’ve needed to invest in midfield for a few years now. A good midfield signing could really give us a boost.

A good central defender, one that can play on a similar level to Varane, could also provide that boost you're talking about. McFred has shown positive signs under Ralf. They're playing well enough that they can hold the fort until the summer, at which point we'll know where Pogba's future lies, and we'll have better midfield options to choose from, like those who will be unwilling to transfer mid-season due to the CL.

ffs I thought it was today. Sitting in front of the tv like a fool…

    DDG

    Maguire
    Varane
    Shaw

    McTominay
    Fred

    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Sancho

    Ronaldo

    2-1
It's a joke isn't it (the situation not your post)

That there can be a line up with Greenwood, Bruno, Sancho and Ronaldo and then thinking about a 2 -1 win.

Maguire should be sold to the Saudis to fund a move for another CB. Kounde, Torres, De Ligt, to name a few, would be an upgrade.

Yes it’s quite depressing. I’d take 2-1 now at home to the definition of a mid table club.

McT usually does great when paired with a defensive midfielder like Matic. Fred really does hold him back since he’s not as disciplined. It’s blatantly obvious we need a young defensive midfielder but the club will ignore strengthening this area again.

What do you think about putting Donny next to Cristiano ?

We know that wolves will come to sit deep and we could put Donny in the box to look for gaps and free areas in their defense in order to create from inside their box

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Lindelof - Telles
    McTominay - Fred
    Sancho - Bruno
    Cavani - CR7

No Maguire, Lindelof or Bailly with the squad according to that .. Phil Jones at CB?

I don’t know if we need a young DM. We want somebody on the cusp of their peak. 25-27 roughly.

Hmm. Going to be Jones or Matic then, and probably not Matic considering he just played 90.

I guess Maguire could have just been missed or have a legitimate reason not to be at the Lowry tonight.

You could play a back three of Shaw-Varane-McT with Dalot and Telles as wing backs, I guess.

I think this is most likely to be honest. I think we’d know if he was out

Hope Jones plays. Would be nice to see him again, but risk he is bad.

Maguire has been poor anyway and Bailly is not great.

Lindelöf and Varane the way forward for sure I think unless Maguire finds form again.

I hate to say it but I can't see anything other than a bore draw.

    Inappropriate joke

Jones shouldn't be anywhere near Manchester let alone near our squad.

Should have made Bailey stay instead of going to catch Covid in Africa
