    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Mensah Carrick Mata
    Mkhytaryan Rashford Martial

I think we should rest both Pogba and Herrera because they don't look good recently. Carrick had 45 mins extra + 90 min full rest against Liverpool and Stoke so I'll play him. Sub him off when we already won the game by 2 or 3 goals difference.

I want Mensah to play but I reckon it will be Fellaini.

    Romero
    Valencia Tuanzebe Bailly Shaw
    Fosu-Mensah Blind
    Young MkHitaryan Martial
    Rashford

If it was up to me...
I like the look of that side especially from a rotation perspective and blooding the youth in the last and only game where we really can. And we need to see how Blind does in midfield sooner or later as Carrick looks tired.

However I think Jose will play:
    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini Pogba
    Young Zlatan Martial

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw
    Herrera
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Fellaini Mata
    Martial

    Romero
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Fellaini Pogba
    Mata Zlatan Martial

Changes for me in this one, I'd expect the big hitters who played on Thursday to take a game out, then only possible player to play will be Pogba.

    Romero
    Valencia
    Young
    Bailly
    Blind
    Fellaini
    Herrera
    Rooney
    Mata
    Martial
    Mhykitaryn

Can't take too many chances & risk losing like Liverpool did today. Losing our unbeaten run in our last game was bad enough (despite our progression to the Final) but a second loss would play havoc with our confidence.

Mou is a far better tactician than Klopp & our squad is much deeper than theirs, so if we were to lose an early goal like the dippers did today, I'm confident we'd come back. The team Mou puts out will be good enough to get it done though.
Again unlike Klop, Mou will respect Wigan and as a result I'm looking for a United response leading to a 4 nil victory!

    That doesn't usually happen, buddy.
Normally, in the first half we suck. Sometimes we may score a goal.
Then we have a half time talk - Jose makes some tactical changes and we then make progress.
I just don't see us being able to go 2 goals clear early in the game.

I agree but you never know.

Would be so thrilled to see Bailly play, but perhaps it os better to play him on Wednesday. Not sure when he came back anyway, probably trained with us for only couple of times since AFCON. Our team needs his energy!

I agree but you never know.

You never know, but that's not a good tactic since with our current lack of ability to kill the matches you'd end up playing 90 minutes all the time. I think José has thought about playing Zlatan for an hour or so a couple of times, but we've always needed him to stay until the final whistle. Resulting in him being very tired in 2017 so far.

I think we should have Bailly on the bench. I remember when Yaya Toure came back for City a couple of years ago his form dropped noticeably. Last 20 minutes maybe, even then, only if needed.

    Reading?

Went up 2-0 within 15 minutes

    Maybe something like:

    -------------------Romero----------------
    Mensah----Bailly-----Jones-----Shaw
    ----------Herrera-----Schweinstegier----
    Miki--------------Mata-------------Martial
    -----------------Rashford------------------

Keep Pogba, Valencia, Ibra, and Carrick fresh for what could be a tricky game against Hull, plus hopefully let Miki, and Martial get some confidence back.

MOURINHO OFFERS MORE STARTING XI CLUES

Jose Mourinho has provided more clues to his team selection for Sunday's Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie with Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford.

After already confirming Sergio Romero and Anthony Martial are set to be named in the starting line-up, the boss has suggested Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney will also feature in the XI. Both England internationals were on the bench for Thursday's EFL Cup encounter at Hull City, with skipper Rooney coming on in the second half.

The manager was also asked about Bastian Schweinsteiger's possible involvement against Warren Joyce's Championship side, as the Reds look to follow up clinching a place at Wembley in the EFL Cup final next month with a smooth passage into the fifth round of a competition won last May.

"I play Romero, I play Shaw," Mourinho told the press. "I play Anthony Martial, I play Wayne Rooney.

"I played Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard [at Hull]. In the game before, I played Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. In the next match, I will play Martial. They have to fight and win positions in relation to their performances.

"I have to read the situation and decide [about Schweinsteiger]. We don't have many midfield players - I played three [on Thursday]. Marouane Fellaini was on the bench and Basti stayed in Manchester so, normally, he comes into the squad."

LINGARD GRATEFUL TO WIGAN BOSS JOYCE

Jesse Lingard is grateful to Warren Joyce for the part he played in his development at Manchester United - but is nevertheless desperate to knock his Wigan Athletic side out of the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

Before his successful transition to the first team, Lingard starred under Joyce when the Latics boss was coaching and managing the Reds' Reserves. The man whose goal won the Cup last season is full of praise for his former gaffer, who left his United post in November to take over at Wigan and ultimately guide them out of the Championship's relegation zone.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's fourth-round tie, Lingard told MUTV: "It was always going to take a bit of time for Joycey but Wigan have had good results in their last few games. It will be another tough game for us. Anything can happen in the cups so we've got to play our game on the day.

"Joycey was great for me. He gave me my chance in the Reserves and I respect him as a manager and I still keep in touch with him now.

"I think he will succeed at Wigan. I've worked under him and I've seen the coaching he did and the reserve-league titles he won here. He always communicated well with the lads. As soon as I went out on loan he was calling me and coming to watch me at games. I think communication is vital for a player when you go away from a club – he always looked after the young lads."

Although Lingard thinks Joyce's inside knowledge could be useful to the Latics, the 24-year-old is confident a positive display from the Reds will see the holders progress to the fifth round.

"Yeah of course he knows all about us," Lingard smiled. "He knows the players here and the way we play and as I said before it's a cup game and anything can happen. But as long as we perform on the day then we have a great chance."

Joyce won't be the familiar face visiting Old Trafford with Wigan on Sunday - their new on-loan midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe played with Lingard in the last United team to win the FA Youth Cup in 2011.

Jesse explained: "I remember we had a tough run in the Youth Cup with tough games against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool at Anfield, but we overcame them and we had the right team to carry us through that. Tunners was the main player in that midfield, he was bossing things and dominating games and that's what we needed.

"I think Tunners will help Wigan a lot. He's got good leadership skills, he gets about the park and he loves a tackle and I think that's what they've been missing. For a player who was at United to come back to Old Trafford is always a great feeling I'm sure and he'll relish the opportunity.”

Aah, that's nice, keeping it sweet with the Wigan boss when Lingard decides he wants regular first team football after a few years.

Can see this game ending a draw which would be disastrous with games coming thick and fast if too many changes are made unbalancing the team.

Hmm question is out of Rooney and Martial who will play will up front and who on the left?

Unsure here whether to see this or the WC final between France and Norway in Handball.

One of Herrera or Pogba must be rested. Unfortunately we can't afford to rest both. Or we can?
    Scwheini to start? :)

Blind in the middle? That hasn't happened till now nor I think it will happen ever. At least this season.

It happened in a pre-season friendly, though.

    Maybe:

    Romero-Shaw, Rojo, Jones, Valencia-Fellaini, Herrera-Martial, Rooney, Mickhi-Rashford.
