Not ideal given the number of injuries but Maguire has to start at some point and at home to West Ham would normally be a good choice.

Will be interesting to see if he's had the Shaw upgrade from Erik. He looks as if he's shifted a bit of timer too so here's hoping.

I expected Maguire to start but to see Elanga and Ronaldo out there is surprising. Elanga's inclusion is understandable given Antony's injury but Sancho must have shown nothing in training for him to benched for an out of form Ronaldo. Maybe EtH thinks the goal would've given Ronaldo some confidence. But we should still win this with the team out there.

No matter how bad Sancho has been you simply cannot bench him if your alternative is Elanga. It's laughable.. I hope he has a cracker of a game but no one can tell me Elanga is a better option. Even Garnacho starting would excite me more..

He could have started Sancho or Garnacho out wide with Rashford up top. Alternatively, he could have put Bruno out wide, with Eriksen and Fred above Casemiro.

Its not a big issue and I back ten Hag with whatever he goes with but there were certainly other options that he has explored before and could have easily gone with one of those today.

I'll be watching the situation. Let see if Ten Hag will keep managing Ronaldo the same way he did prior to his episode as in dropped him in important games and subbed him off when he was poor.

If Ronaldo keeps playing when he's poor unlike how it used to be pre episode then Imy suspicions would be right but I hope not. Right now it can be explained to us lacking options with a few guys out injured.

Yeah I think you’re right. That’s the big call.

You’d naturally think Rashford left, Sancho right and Ronaldo through the middle.

Elanga has a higher workrate than Sancho though so perhaps he’s there for his defensive work from the start with Sancho the better option from the bench if we are chasing a goal. Especially with our limited options.

Sancho is in terrible form. Garnacho just had his first start against some minnows. You can excuse ETH thinking he isn't ready, Bruno out wide is not really ideal if you're trying to break down a team.
