I don't agree because you can play Greenwood and Amad much higher, safe in the knowledge that they have three hard-working and defensively minded midfield players behind them.

If Rashford isn't back then I'd pair Greenwood and Amad as the front 2, but the issue is we don't have a striker to play our usual 4-2-3-1, neither Rashford or Mason suit the lone #9 role.Home games fill me with dread now.

Moyes should buy Fellaini. Can you imagine both Soucek and Fellaini on the pitch at the same time? It would be a nightmare to defend high balls against them.
Greenwood is more than capable of playing up front and Fernandes plays like a second striker most of the time anyway. Either way, playing a 3rd defender isn't going to alleviate those issues.
I think Mason has struggled centrally at senior level, he even talked about finding CB's physically difficult to deal with in the PL when he was interviewed by Rio. You can't just replicate a system and expect it to work just because it worked for another team. You need the right players. McTominay, Fred and Matic are nowhere near Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum. Plus they have experience of playing together.Seeing as we currently have only 3 similar midfielders fit is it time to get Mejbri into the squad until players get fit . I’d rather be looking at him getting a few mins than Matic
