We are on the bring of another United record here lads. Having smashed the minutes without a goal record in midweek we are now 45 minutes away of the 0-0 draws at home in the league record. LVG is a genius.
We'll get the win, but this is dreadful stuff to watch.
It'll be a fight to be last on MOTD tonight. No goals in 4 of the games right now. Not a great day.
This was written at around 39 mins, a few moments before we got our first shot.
Am I the ony one who thinks Schweinsteiger has been a bit underwhelming
Thing is if we get one goal this game opens right up … it has to!I went for 3-2
Yeah, under ol' Moyesie. Hard to forget.Teams parking a bus at OT,anyone remembers those days when they were coming with plan to wipe a floor with us.
West Brom arent even trying to get/keep the ball.
The possession stat or us being camped in their half means nothing. WBA dont care.
We cant break them down.
Top players are supposed to create chances to break down tough defences. Any team can score against a side not capable of defending .
WBA sitting back is not an excuse. It is up to us to break them down... and we aren't doing a great job at that..
That said, 45 minutes still to go. Hope we can do something
Hardly a surprise, is it? We've shown time and time again this season that we're helpless against teams that sit back and stay compact. They're playing to our weakness, and anything else would be ridiculous.
So in a way you can actually say that, yes, it is our fault they want to park the bus. If we hadn't shown a hundred times under LVG that we're diabolical at breaking down buses, it would have forced them to reconsider their game plan.
yet here we are and it is 0-0.Schneiderlin just started training yesterday, he's not ready. Herrera hasn't been at his best recently and Carrick looked very good v CSKA.
If it keeps WBA in the PL they won't be complaining.Food for thought - WBA have kept clean sheets in 4 out of their 5 away games. Bus parkers.
Still too slow and safe from us. We're not committing any players forward, there's no one to pass to when we're around the box except out wide or backwards. What's the point of two midfielders hanging back against a side like this? One of Carrick or Schweinsteiger should come off for Herrera.
It was definitely less poor than the recent crap in the league, difficult against an almost constant 11 man defence though.i enjoyed that half

it's not as simple as that, we are then easier to hit on the counter. Here's a question:
Using the logic that the ball is mostly in the final 3rd, against these 'Park The Bus' teams, would it not be wise to take off a defender and add an attacker?
It's almost impossible to break down a team that park the bus... the game changes on details. If Mata scores, or Lindgard, or Rooney when Martial has his shot, everything changes again.Hardly a surprise, is it? We've shown time and time again this season that we're helpless against teams that sit back and stay compact. They're playing to our weakness, and anything else would be ridiculous.

Not a defender an holding midfielder yesHere's a question:

We have been attacking but im tired of every team looking like WC defensive sides when coming OT.

I thought we were unlucky not to get a couple of goals. Much better if you ask me, we seemed to be probing more with forward balls and a lot faster in getting this balls forward. It was definitely less poor than the recent crap in the league, difficult against an almost constant 11 man defence though.

I really like Mata but he is too one dimensional. The fullback knows he will never get beat on the outside and that Mata will always cut in on his left. Its just easy to defend. The only thing Mata can do is hit a cross into the box but at that point there are at least 5 opposing players waiting to head it back out.
We are screaming out for pace and trickery on the flanks. Its what will get us the goals. Players who can beat the first man and cause the opposition defence to turn.
No. That was our first shot on target. We actually had 7 shots on goal in that half which is pretty decent. Only getting 1 of them on target, not so much.
Ah, seems you weren't watching after all
Eh, we had a few shots before that, unless you're specifically on about ones on target but that's not what was said.
We have nearly 80% possession. A minor detail is 0 shots on goal.
Only thing more boring than our matches at the moment are the people using the "they're parking the bus so that's why we're not scoring" line.
Not sure its luck, but yea we should have scored at least one (Mata)I thought we were unlucky not to get a couple of goals. Much better if you ask me, we seemed to be probing more with forward balls and a lot faster in getting this balls forward.
It's the accuracy of our shooting that is a worry.Jesus.. I did mean shots on goal (or target)...
This is the stats if anyone cares so much.
