The thing is, Louis might feel that we've got still some way to be able to play his system. But other teams have had a year + now to set up accordingly, and it seems most teams find it relatively easy to play against us.

West Brom have waisted so much time that they lost out on a corner there in the end, which I think tells a story of a dull half where the main highlights were Martial's foot work where he set himself up, and that incredibly bad offside call by the linesman on Rojo.

I would quite like to see Memphis Mata Lingard supporting Martial in that 2nd half.

Not our fault they want to park the bus.

I still think we should have figured out in one of the hundreds of times this happens how to deal with it.

We haven't played poorly but when we play quick and press high they panic, yet we do that very rarely

By singing attack, they are encouraging our players.
If I were player and my supporters are demanding me to attack, this will give me an adrenalin boost, to do exactly that.
Nothing wrong with that - it's actually a positive thing.

Yea well it does not sound like encouraging chant and even if it is,30 sec of that and then next 15 min. like nobody is there, both parties should be on top of WBA.

for anyone disappointed how we look at the moment, imagine supporting a West Brom!
Basically their only hope is a set piece in the 10% of the time they have the ball

    Ridiculous.

Our possession game is the primary part of our defense. We haven't got a back line that can soak up pressure. What your suggesting is to purposely allow a lesser team to attack us?

    Not necessarily.
If plan A is not working (and it clearly isn't), we need to come up with a different plan.
Playing a counter attack game is good strategy.
To say that our team, which consists of high quality players can't defend, is a little unfair to our players. We also have arguably the best GK in the World playing for us.

    Shots on/off target = 7. Which actually isn't bad.

We are attacking, we're just not great at it. Still we had some good chances with Martial, Mata and also Lingard almost getting through on goal. West Brom have truly parked the bus, if we can get that breakthrough then I think a couple more will follow.

Only thing more boring than our matches at the moment are the people using the "they're parking the bus so that's why we're not scoring" line.

Mata, Lingard and Martial needed to do better with their chances but to be fair the to Lingard it was a pretty awesome tackle by Evans.

On one hand, its great that our dominance at OT is back again. A far cry from the moyes days and even the 1st season under LVG. Teams just don't even bother leaving their own half in fear of conceding. Well its either that or they cant get the ball. Either way we are 99% of the time the dominant team.

The only problem is that means our players literally have to break down 11 men standing in their own box. Its a tall task for any team. I guess what seperates us from the likes of bayern/barca who have similar dominance at home is that we don't have the players of their caliber.

I really like Mata but he is too one dimensional. The fullback knows he will never get beat on the outside and that Mata will always cut in on his left. Its just easy to defend. The only thing Mata can do is hit a cross into the box but at that point there are at least 5 opposing players waiting to head it back out.

We are screaming out for pace and trickery on the flanks. Its what will get us the goals. Players who can beat the first man and cause the opposition defence to turn.

At the moment none of our players other than Martial can do so. I had high hopes for Depay but it seems like he is in the doghouse.

Just a very slow and lethargic Manchester United team that cant thread a ball through the middle or beat a fullback on the wing. How can we expect to fashion chances if we cant do either?

We desperately need some 3rd man runs from midfield, and somebody who can play 1-2s with the striker to create space and shooting opportunities. We are too slow with the old timers in midfield, take carrick or schweinsteiger off for Herrera and let him bomb forward. They are completely blunt with just rondon up there, let's take a few risks shall we!

    One shot on goal.
Juan 'back pass' Mata doing his thing.
Pass, pass, pass, back to the keeper, pass, pass, pass.

    Fun, Fun, Fun

Pass, pass, pass, We want to pass. We are Man Utd, we want to pass!

West Brom arent even trying to get/keep the ball.

The possession stat or us being camped in their half means nothing. WBA dont care.
    We cant break them down.

Top players are supposed to create chances to break down tough defences. Any team can score against a side not capable of defending .

WBA sitting back is not an excuse. It is up to us to break them down... and we aren't doing a great job at that..

That said, 45 minutes still to go. Hope we can do something

We are good - just have to score form our next (half)chance. stoke, sorry west brom is a disgrace. Rooney is looking good as is mata lingard and martial - so we have to hope for an early goal now

for anyone disappointed how we look at the moment, imagine supporting a West Brom!
Basically their only hope is a set piece in the 10% of the time they have the ball
Well I think most managers other than Pulis would get relegated with this team. Very limited team. They have no choice.

West Brom is already time wasting in the first half. How more defensive can a team get?

Wrong impression from the Brugge match I say. When this guy is on form, he is on fire.

One of the German lads has already shown its not as impressive as it looks. Half of those were against a 4th tier side or something.

We'll get the win, but this is dreadful stuff to watch.

Food for thought - WBA have kept clean sheets in 4 out of their 5 away games. Bus parkers.

Still too slow and safe from us. We're not committing any players forward, there's no one to pass to when we're around the box except out wide or backwards. What's the point of two midfielders hanging back against a side like this? One of Carrick or Schweinsteiger should come off for Herrera.

Teams parking a bus at OT,anyone remembers those days when they were coming with plan to wipe a floor with us.

There's lots of complaining that we can't make the breakthrough, but what's the answer?

I genuinely don't know. Do we sit back on the edge of our own box for ten minutes and allow them space to attack? Is there something we can change in terms of movement?

When a side is so insistent on parking the bus it places an incredible amount of pressure on the attack to create. And ultimately, are the likes of Lingard and Rooney equipped to do that effectively?

Van Gaal has to find an answer, but I'm not sure what that is short of kidnapping some proper elite forwards or ceding possession on purpose.

Save me. How did Townsend and Hargreaves get to be pundits for this match!

Wish Mata was in the position where Carrick keeps getting the ball, being too slow and wasting possesion
