My prediction. Probably won't get more than 7/11.

    DDG
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    Fred Fellaini Pogba
    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

Or they'll be there because they support Manchester United and have paid for a ticket.

Supporting the club is one thing, showing managers unconditional love when they've quite clearly lost the plot is another.

Anyone who is still supporting him while he is ripping our club to bits and dragging our reputation through the mud is not supporting United.

    My guess:

    DDG

    Dalot ---- Smalling ---- Lindelof ----- Shaw

    Matic ---- Fellaini ----- Herrera

    Mata ----- Lukaku ----- Rashford

But I mean, I probably wouldn't be surprised if we go for a 2-2-6 formation and then after the game Jose says "this is what happens when you want me to play attacking football".

    Herrera is out injured.

Well I'm assuming you weren't implying that anyone attending tonight's game is doing so simply because 'they're up Mourinho's arse'.

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Pereira Matic Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Sanchez

Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Young, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Martial

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Pereira Matic Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Sanchez

Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Young, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Martial
Fellaini will start. Some players are more ready than others

Surprised I moved up to second in lineup predictions after the last game. This one will be even worse.

    Lindelof or Bailly
    Valencia or Dalot
    Which two of Fred/Fellaini/Pogba
Sanchez or Mata to join Rashford and Lukaku

    They're the main questions

Is it true that you can pay on the door tonight and is that normal?

Couple of us (club members) have received sms to say tickets are available on the door tonight. Not sure if it applies to non members. And nope it is defintely not normal. First time I have received such a message

I think we can safely say it's no going to be a free-flowing. high-scoring game (unless we go with the wonder partnership of Jones and Smalling at the back). but who knows which players will feel like tipping up and which won't and who knows what plan b is secretly being devised as we speak... yeh right. all I can say is what I did a few days ago: if we lose this and on Saturday, Jose's gone

    Last minute lineup predictions

Less than 30 minutes until lineup predictions close and there are more questions than ever before.

    Valencia or Dalot?

The Daily Mail say that Mourinho is no longer in regular communication with Valencia, which is odd as Valencia is normally so chatty.

Dalot has settled in well so far but I think Valencia will return to the starting lineup. He can't really play three matches in a week anymore and was 'rested' against West Ham. I think Dalot will make his league debut against Newcastle United instead and should hopefully go on from there.

    Lindelof or Bailly?

Lindelof suffered the humiliation of being subbed off against West Ham in favour of keeping midfielder McTominay at centre back. What is worse for Bailly is that he wasn't chosen to come on. You'd think Bailly would return to the starting lineup but wouldn't surprise me if Lindelof still starts.

Who will join Matic in midfield?

Pogba has seemingly been singled out these past few weeks but still has started games. Against West Ham he was subbed off at same time as Martial with Mourinho saying prior to the game that he feels some players care more than others - a dig at these two or just an easy conclusion to jump to?

Fred started against Young Boys but has spent a large part of his time at United as a sub. I'll take a gamble and go for Matic Fred Pogba to retain their places as the Champions League midfield three, but I expect Fellaini will probably start.

Who will join Rashford and Lukaku in the front three?

I'm as confident as can be that Rashford and Lukaku will be two of the names starting. As for the third name, Sanchez has supposedly been told he may never play for United again. Martial comes in to the team, has a middling performance and gets dropped for the next game so I don't expect to see him start today, which leaves Mata - who used to play for Valencia.

I'll go for Sanchez Lukaku Rashford but think it'll more likely be Rashford Lukaku Mata.

Damien's failure of a predicted XI

    De Gea

    Valencia Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Matic
    Fred Pogba
    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

Will probably more likely be: De Gea, Dalot, Bailly, Smalling, Shaw, Matic, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Lukaku, Rashford.

    Zidane makes the match programme

Expect Bailly for Lindelof and Rashford up top with Lukaku and Mata. Win could get us into nice position before Juventus matches so hope for positive approach and good football.

I know I’m probably in the minority, but I am actually looking forward to tonight’s game.

Curious to see how Jose and the players react.

FWIW, I think we will win.

Me too, I always look forward to games no matter how dire the situation is.
Also, as you say, very interesting to see how the team reacts.

    Greenwood signs new contract

In some rare positive news for the club, Mason Greenwood has signed his first professional contract.

He has been a highlight for the academy this season with 11 goals in 8 games including scoring against Valencia earlier today.
    Hope this is wrong.

    17:49KEY EVENT
De Gea set to miss Valencia fixture
The understanding is David de Gea won’t play for United tonight. He was not with the squad as they arrived at The Lowry Hotel last night, so it isn’t news that will come as a surprise for those who read the squad line on the MEN yesterday.

Sergio Romero will almost certainly start his second midweek match running.

Journos will lick their lips. " Exclusive : Mourinho told De Gea to leave to Madrid after a burst up at training ground" or something.

I received a text too! Just live the 300 odd miles away so not exactly easy for me to roll up!

An indictment of how crap we're playing! Normally against a top Spanish side tickets would be at a premium! This sort of thing will get the Glazers sitting up and taking notice hopefully!

Usually I get wildly optimistic in the build up to CL games, I'm fully expecting us to draw or narrowly lose tonight. Not because of the negative media circus but purely because Derby played it around us with ease and Valencia are actually quite good again. Unless something fundamental changes with our tactics I bet their players are really looking forward to tonight.

Somebody rang Talksport earlier and said he lives near so he will go, but the guy who sits next to him doesn't and he said you couldn't blame him for not wanting to travel around 500 miles to watch the rubbish we are churning out.

Would like to see a Fred,Matic and Pogba 3 tonight.
Though if Jose continues his odd form in bizarre line ups we'll probably see Fellaini,Matic,Pogba and McTominay playing off Lukaku.
