Can't wait for this game we need to start the season with a bang, come on boys 3 points.

Bugger. I'm going to miss this. I have to go to my sister-in-law's house for dinner.
This is truly sad in so many ways. I hope it's at least something special like a 100th bday or similar, otherwise I'm lost for words.

No chance. Why would we sign Romero only to start Johnstone?
Whom of Shaw, Darmain, Smalling/Blind & Jones speaks Spanish, so he can communicate with them?
I'd say playing a keeper who is fluent with the lingo would be pretty essential.

I would imagine as a professional footballer, language would not be an issue for a goalkeeper on the pitch. Surely one of the first things he would work on is his communication with his defenders.

It is for nothing. She left a bag of my nieces toys here last week and we are taking them round.

I'm dreading a lineup our brilliant manager will field today. Other than obvious Herrera on the bench (if even that) and Depay as nr. 10 and Blind as CB what else can he surprise us with. Valencia at RB, Rooney in midfield, unfit Rojo at LB.
Damn I hate this already and its still what 3 hours to lineups being announced.

If Herrera wont start today I think he'll be off this winter. No way he'll put up with so few playing minutes.

We should go with Carrick,Schneiderlin and Herrara in midfield and make sure our defence is adequately protected.

Why does everyone have Darmian over Valencia? I thought LVG said earlier in the summer that Valencia was still first choice. Have I missed something?

I think it was lost in translation. Van Gaal has said he wants two players for each position and he meant that Darmian is that player. It's not that Darmian is second choice to Valencia, but that he's the second player of the two Van Gaal wants competing for the RB position.

A player doesn't start one game and he immediately wants to leave?

    Perspective please!

Its obvious LVG doesnt rate Herrera and its obvious at this moment Herrera will play very few minutes this season. No way that kind of a player should be so much time on the bench. That's a travesty really.

I don't think people understand how a squad works to be honest.

Herrera is an excellent player but the amount of blind (not Blind) love on here is ridiculous.

Every player will get minutes this season.

I'd forgotten what match days felt like. Excited!

My only slight concern is that Tottenham tend to play three in midfield (haven't watched them this preseason admittedly) so I hope with our 4-2-3-1 (or 4-3-3 with the point forward as the boss calls it) we aren't too light in CM because Memphis plays the number ten more like a second striker than a third midfielder.

Can't wait though. I hope the new signings hit the ground running. I think Schneiderlin will be super important for us this season.

You'll see. He'll bench him and will ruin his mentality. Just like with numeruous players already.
No wonder LVG has fallen out with players and management at every club he has been in. The name of Thomas Kraft pops to mind.

All those jobs he ended up getting the sack, so if I was a player at this club I would just bide my time.

Abandon hope all ye who pick Herrera in the lineup prediction.

The issue is that many people think Herrera should be first choice, not a squad player. Everyone understands "he will get minutes" but we'd like him to be part of the first XI.

Hoping for an impressive performance against Spurs as we had last time, I will take a win of any kind but have an underlying feeling we may stumble out of the blocks again.

I will be buzzing all week if we can get a win today, I think Depay will play an important role for us all season if we are to challenge for the title and it would be great to see him get off to a good start today.

I'm predicting 2-1 to United with Rooney and Depay to score. Come on United! Let's make a statement of intent today.

    Early morning run: done.
Gym session of lifting heavy things without being a posing arsehole in front of a mirror: done.
Only stared at the drop dead gorgeous staff member's yoga panted ass half a dozen times: done.
Bacon rolls and BT Sport: upcoming.

I now pronounce this new season... Open! *fireworks and party streamers go off*

This is the most excited I've been for the start of the season for a very long time. Let's hope we get off to a great start!

Part of me wants to watch all the build up seeing as it's the first match.

Then I remember it's on fecking BT Sport.

Havent seen much of the pre season thus summer so i have no idea if the team looks ready or not. I will be more surprised if we win by 2-3 goals than if we lose tbh. Still excited AF!

    "Aaaaaaw, together as one.....!"

    Worst. Theme. Music. Ever.

Not that anyone will listen, but just remember if we lose today it doesn't mean our season is over.

Equally, if we win today, it doesn't mean we're going to win the league.
