Nervous...excited...giddy! Come on United! A few of our youth players are gonna get their chances. I really hope they do well and make us proud! Always nice to see our youngsters given a shot.

Hmm my line up has glitched. Picked Hernandez to partner Rooney but it's now Van Persie.

Even as recently as the last time we played Swansea in January, only three/four players who started that match are likely to start this one: de Gea, Smalling, Fletcher and Rafael.

Vidic and Evra have left the club. Valencia, Carrick and Welbeck are injured. Kagawa and Januzaj will most likely be subs today.

Traffic update: avoid the M6 around Junction 15. paceme says it is closed between 15 and 16, and he's been sat still in traffic for 45 minutes!
I keep forgetting to pick subs for my lineup, apart from the goalie. If I was manager we would be buggered if we needed to make changes.

I should probably put a warning saying "Are you sure you don't want to choose any subs?" :)

We've been playing 3-4-1-2 all pre-season. How can anyone believe that we'll change to 3-4-2-1 all of a sudden just because Welbeck is out?

Hoping for, not expecting.. I'm expecting chicha too instead of kagawa in my line up, but kagawa & mata together would be sexy

Nervous as always before important games! Let the new era begin!

Hernandez will start surely. Swansea are not the same level as Liverpool or Valencia so we should be on top and create some opportunities for Chich.

Still plenty of time to go before the match kicks off. If you want a bit of reading in the meantime, here are some excellent articles/interviews over the past day:

Damn, forgot to do the line-up prediction and I did it for every pre season game as well!

    Most likely imo

    Footys back :)

Even with the injurys and our lack of experience at the back I feel that we should over power them with our attacking qualitys.
That said the first game can be a strange one and there's always a shock or two on opening day I just hope it's not at ot today:nervous:
I just hope that if things aren't going to plan the hardcore fans drown out the moans and groans from the spoiled prawn sandwich munchers as the last thing the team needs(especially the back line) is there confidence taking a knock.

    3-1

Can not wait game to start, have some tingly feeling in my gut  Lets do thiS!!!!

One hour and ten minutes to go until kick-off. Won't be long before the first "lineups?" post.
The left side will be very inexperienced (if James & Blackett start) so that will put added pressure on Young to create from the right.

This formation is working so far, but i fear it is an easier formation to face for the away team looking for a draw than 442 or 433 would be.

Hopefully Rooney can "let it fly" and take the pressure off with an early goal.

wats the point in Hernandez starting if hes leaving honestly,i hope he dont.

for some reason i thought the game would start at 12, now disappointed to find out that i have to wait for another 45 minutes.

What subs have people predicted? I think Adnan to get a run out, I think Mata will might come off so I've picked Kagawa and I've chosen Fellaini because van Gaal might bring on after than cameo the other night.

Kagawa, Fellaini and Hernandez. I thought Adnan would start this one.
