Really don't know what to expect. Managing to lose against Swansea was a woeful, woeful result. Again, Sunderland are absolute bobbins at the moment with only Defoe looking up for it.

The tide of opinion is truly turning on LvG now, hopefully at home we can put on a brave performance to show we aren't out of it yet. Another 90 of timid possession football (and more points lost) and I can see "She cannae take the strain" come 5PM.

Wilson only picked up a dead leg against us on Monday night. Surely that shouldn't rule him out?

I don't know, some posters have brought up previous examples of players who had to take a few weeks off due to a dead leg.

Physioroom has him down with "hip/thigh injury - no return date." So still unknown - perhaps he won't be enough match fit to recieve a spot in the starting XI.

Well we won't be seeing Van Persie for this game - Daily Fail claims he's out until April…. so it will be interesting to see who plays up top this weekend….

He's free to take the rest of the season off to recuperate.

    ----------------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------
    Valencia------------------Jones-------------------Rojo-------------------Shaw
    -----------------------------------------Blind-----------------------------------
    Di Maria------------------Herrera-----------Mata/Fellaini--------------Young
    -----------------------------------------Rooney---------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------Defoe-----------------------------------
    ---------------------------------------Graham-----------------------------------
    Johnson------------------Cattermole------Larsson----------------------Alvarez
    Reveillère----------------O’Shea-------------Brown----------------------Vergini
    --------------------------------------Pantilimon----------------------------------

I think I'd like to see something like this:

    ------------------DDG----------------
    Valencia---Smalling---Rojo---Shaw
    ----------Herrera-----Blind----------
    Di Maria---------Mata---------Young
    ------------Rooney-------------------

It'll probably be Fellaini for Mata and Probably with no width either. Sadly that seems to be how we line up these days.

I have already made 2 line-ups but now i think i have found the right one

    -------------DeGea----------
    Rafael-Smalling-Rojo-Shaw
    --------------Blind-----------
    ------Fellaini-----Herrera---
    DiMaria---------------Young
    -------------Rooney---------

    ------------------De Gea---------------
    Rafael-----Smalling------Rojo-----Shaw
    -----------Herrera------Blind-----------
    --Di Maria---------Mata---------Young--
    -----------------Rooney----------------

Two proper fullbacks, play the in form Young and Herrera and our superstars in Di Maria, Mata and Rooney all on the pitch.

We need to pick a system and stick with it, whether the formation on paper is 4231 or 433 it doesn't matter, we just need consistency and surely with these players it HAS to come good, right?!

Leaves good options on the bench in case we need to change something, Fellaini for a more physical presence, Wilson and Valencia for pace and Januzaj also a good option.

    Is Carrick fit?

Assuming he isnt I would like to see something like:

    --------------------------DDG

Rafa (Valencia) ----- Smalling ----- Rojo ------- Shaw

    --------------- Blind ------------ Jones

Di Maria ----------- Mata ----------- Herrara

    ----------------------- Rooney

Maybe Young on for Herrera for a bit more pace. I think Blind needs a bit of help in midfield there, with that platform the front four can just get stuck in.

With RvP out and Falcao seemingly given up on, let's give the potentially great partnership of Mata and Rooney up top a try please (I actually met LvG the other day and missed the opportunity to beg for Mata to get more game time, partially for the sake of my girlfriend).

    Super Dave
    Rafael --- Jones --- Rojo --- Shaw
    Herrera --- Blind
Young --- Mata --- Di Maria
    Rooney
Don't think we'll get this, but it's who I'd line up right now. Di Maria and Young could be swapped, the way I'd shown if we want to pour in crosses, or the other way round for cutting in.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Rojo--Shaw
    Herrera--Blind
    Januzaj--Mata--Di Maria
    Rooney

What I think the team will be:

    De Gea
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini--Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney--Falcao

I wish we would forget 'match rhythm' and just chuck Carrick straight back in. I suppose it'd be wrong not to adhere to protocol now though as things are looking up on the injury front given we have gone from 10+ every game to just 1 player unavailable for the last few games.

    My thoughts exactly.
I'd be quite happy to play with either Rooney or Wilson up front, and using the extra man in midfield.

    Dave
    Tony - Chris - Marcos - Luke
    Ander - Daley
    Adnan - Wayne - Angel
    James

Let's try this. Juan, Radamel and Marouane as subs.

    Rooney behind Falcao up top.
    Falcao to have another shocker.
We fall behind shortly after the break.
Young comes on for a poor Janujaz.
We kick into gear and score 3.
The Caf has its weekly LvG debate.
    The ship sails on.

    If true...
    My side would be:
    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind Mata
    Di Maria Rooney Young

Great to hear about 4-3-3 but Im personally hoping it's the same lineup as the two who posted above me, except with Adnan instead of Young.

Would love a 433, but how on earth would they know? That said, if we were going to play a 433, I'd take out Herrera or Mata for Fellaini. Other than that, I'd love to see that team

Article on MEN says he's been using it in training this week with Rooney as the striker...
But I disagree re Herrera/Mata for Fellaini. Fellaini obviously has his benefits, but a 4-3-3 with those players is pretty much made for passing it around quickly, precisely and to keep the ball on the ground. Putting Fellaini in there would slow everything down and he'd stick out as he has the last few games when he hasn't been played as a target man. We're home against Sunderland as well, we won't need his extra physicality I think.

If we are going to play 4-3-3 then I would go..

    ------------------------De Gea--------------------
    --Rafael-----Jones------------Smalling-----Shaw---
    -------------------------Blind-------------------------
    ---------------Herrera---------Di Maria--------------
    ----Young--------------Rooney-----------Januzaj-------

However I expect this to be the team..

    ---------------------------De Gea------------------------
    --McNair----------Jones-----------Rojo-----------Shaw---
    -----------------------------Blind----------------------------
    ----------------Fellaini------Mata-----Di Maria-------------
    -----------------------Rooney----Falcao----------------------

Carrick straight back in I reckon.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Shaw

    Herrera - Carrick - Blind

Di Maria - Rooney - Young

Plan = win the game before we need to take him off around the 60 mark and switch to a more pragmatic setup like:

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
Young - Herrera - Fellaini - Di Maria
    Rooney

I can see that myth still lives on then...

Didn't seem to slow us down against City, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc, but we'll just continue to ignore those games.

Back to the 433, though, if that's true, then I can't wait.

He played well in those games but he was more in a battling role, rather then a role where we will expect to dominate the possession like tomorrow. Big difference in putting someone like him for some extra steel in midfield in big games, and against relegation candidates at home.

He's not just put in for big games, though, is he? If I remember correctly, Fellaini was brought on against West Brom, who ironically were 'relegation candidates' at the time, because we couldn't create anything with Herrera and Mata in midfield, and looked susceptible to the counter.
