Those players might not be matchfit yet. I'm talking about Blind, Fellaini, Rojo, Rafael. So it could be that we start with Valencia - Carrick - Rooney - Shaw in a 3-5-2.
    --------------------DDG--------------------

    Valencia-----Jones-----Smalling-----Shaw

    ------------------Carrick-------------------

    -----Herrera--------------------Di Mria----

    ------------------Rooney-------------------

    --------------Falcao------------RVP--------

Hope to see this attacking side. Rooney can be switching with Herrera as defensive shape ( playing deep alongside Carrick). We produce beautiful football with diamond.

I would take that formation gladly, though i would prefer Mata instead of Falcao.

I'm telling you we would tear Soton a new one.

Yes it would be even better to drop Falcao for Mata and switch Rooney to partner Carrick, imagine ( Rooney-Ander-Mata-Di Maria and RVP).

I'm not in favour of playing players out of position so let's just stick Rooney with RvP upfront in front of Mata with Herrera-Di Maria and Carrick in midfield. Hope we see something like that today.

Three points would be massive in terms of getting into the top 4 and we would really cement our position in the top three. Hope Di Maria starts cause he could play a massive influence on this match from the off.

Going 3-2 United, I can see this being a cracking match :D

Far too lightweight in midfield - one-yama, scheiderlin will make mince meat out of herrera and di maria defensively.

I'd drop one of Falcao or RVP and stick in Fellaini in there!

    Im feeling very confident.
We`re at OT,have many players returning from injury, maybe they wont start today but we will have a strong line up and a strong bench.

I predicted 3-0 couple a days ago.I stand by that.
Falcao with a brace and Rooney with the 3rd.

Can't see us switching to a back 4 but can see Carrick as the 3rd CB. Herrerra Fellaini and Di Maria in CM with Rooney and RVP up front

Am I the only one who want to see Valdes? Even though DDG is a much better keeper, I really want to see him, but this is not the right game to take the risk of playing Valdes. Oh, mixed feelings

If Valdes starts that means DDG is a goer. So no thanks.

He can come on for 10 min at the end if we're cruising. Otherwise, I hope he never plays for us (because DDG will never get injured or leave, not because I dislike him)

    So I'm going with:

    De Gea
    Smalling - Rojo
    Valencia ___ Carrick_____ Shaw
    Blind - Di Maria
    Mata
    Van Persie - Rooney

Sounds promising, doubt blind will start though. If it's a back 3 then:
    De gea
    Jones smalling Rojo
    Carrick
    Valencia rooney Mata Shaw
    Di Maria Van Persie
If it's a back 4 then take out Jones and put in Herrera probably. Either way, looks promising, especially with Di Maria, Rooney, mata and Carrick all starting for sure.

That Batesdude was completely wrong last time, so I really don't think he has a clue

Bates seems to be expecting Mata to start in midfield with either Carrick or Blind, and then Di Maria playing 'in support' of a Rooney-RvP front 2. I think the formation below is more likely though (using the same personnel).

    De Gea

    Smalling Carrick Rojo

    Valencia Rooney Blind Shaw

    Mata

    RvP Di Maria

Makes you wet doesn't it? To even think of the football that team can potentially play..

If Blind was to hold, with Carrick playing the centre of a back three, our playing out from the back would improve massively, in my opinion.

Night and day from omly one of them, considering Rojo is back as well, we should be able to not lose the ball in critical areas :) I would hope for a diamond though

Might swap Blind for Herrera for some more work rate and energy yeah.

I honestly believe Blind is the player with the highest workrate in our team, tempo on the other hand, agreed

Please no Carrick or Blind as a CB!! We need Carrick in midfield, that's for sure. I'd much rather use Blackett or McNair as a CB and put Carrick up where he belongs. Really good to have Blind back though, he's been missed. Can't wait to see the lineup...

With Van Gaal wanting one left footed CB maybe Blind might start at the back if Rojo is not ready.

    DDG
    Jones Smalling Blind
    Valencia Carrick Rooney Shaw
    Mata
    RVP Di Maria

Isn't van Gaal a bit touchy when it comes to match fitness? He likes to get them off the bench a couple of times before starting them.

As long as it's Smalling and Rojo its fine. The formation I put above with Carrick at CB is basically the diamond if Carrick steps up.
