I feel we can`t take any chances tonight and would put a strong team out to start. We`ve seen it all before where we have rested several first team players and it has totally ruined the flow to our game where we end up struggling and having to send the big boys on to chase the game. I would rather start strong and try and keep the recent form we have found going and if we do find ourselves in a comfortable position then make some changes then . If we start our first team now and end up qualifying as leaders then our players will get a rest when we don`t have to play the extra qualifying round later.

We are going to smash them

We needed 95 minutes to score a goal against Omonia. We needed 96 minutes to score against Chelsea. Couldn't score in 95 minutes against Newcastle

We won't be smashing anyone until we got a proper #9 that can stay fit for more than a half.

The key thing for tonight is goals, goals galore. We need to get our confidence up putting the ball in the net. That's the thing we're lacking right now.

What sort of proper number 9 do you think we need, someone who is more a fluid type like David or more of a presence like Osimhen

We haven’t scored more than 3 in any competitive fixture under Ten Hag, although that’s mostly down to poor finishing. We are well overdue giving someone a battering.

    No mate apparently it's impossible.

Think this would be a good game to give Garnacho or Pellestri a start. Sancho isn't really performing anyway so the drop off isn't that severe.

Elanga is ahead of both of them if anything is getting rotated.

I think we'll get this done 2-0. Despite coming back to fist team training, Ronaldo doesn't play, imo. Honestly I don't think he should play for us again, period. He's a club legend, but I can't get over the sheer disrespect he showed the manager, team and fans last week. He needs to move on in January and we need to move on without him.

I would also put Ronaldo on the bench for this one. Bring him on later in the second half to see if he has learned his lesson. If not, another 2 weeks wages fine and send him back to the reserves.

If we manage to get a goal in the first twenty minutes, it should be comfortable and more will follow. We can’t pray about until the last twenty minutes again.

The only choices that need to be made is wether Ronaldo starts or not. If he does then I assume sancho will be benched with rashford and Antony either side of him. Ten Hag may opt to keep Ronaldo on the bench and play rashford, Antony, and either sancho or Elanga.

Also might have to face Leipzig, Dortmund, Sevilla or Juve. Two of which buggered us recently. Ajax is also a possibility, one of those "it's fate" possibility I pointed out a while ago
Give me Juve any day of the week. For what it's worth, only Sevilla, and maybe Leipzig, scare me out of those. Seriously, there's a reason why the teams that place third will be in third this year. There are a lot of struggling teams in the CL.

Huh?? What lesson is that in second half? He was fined for indicipline, not for bad performances on the pitch.

He was told to come on as a sub in the second half and refused and then walked off the side just before the end to make a point. If he has learned his lesson he will come on whenever the manager decides he wants him to.

Haa ok. You want the manager to bring him on with 5 mins left just to see if he refuses or comes. Appreciate the pettiness.

It's a must win but I think we need to rotate. Even if we get second, it's another round and that is next years problem.

Sevilla aren’t that good. Neither are Dortmund and juventus are rubbish… leipzig will probably be a tough game as will Barca and Atl Madrid if we got any of them.

I kindof want that CL playoff game! So many potentially great games - Barca, Juve, Ajax.

Europa knockouts are pretty insipid till the later stages usually. The runs in 2017 and 2020 were full of nothingness. The exception is 2021, with Roma and Milan.

I would send him to warm up all match to let him in 2 minutes before the end. If he won’t go on the pitch that’s 1 million more for the club. Win-win.
