If Casemiro gets a yellow card...he will be suspended next game.

So Sevilla drew 2-2 at home vs Celta after being in 2-0 lead as late as on the 89th minute.

They also got two red cards which led to them releasing this cringeworthy statement.

So they are hoping that UEFA takes a note of this and stops giving them yellows for all the rolling on the ground, crying like toddlers that they do?

Do we have any hard men? I want someone to make sure Lamela gets sent off after the cheat worked over Martial previously. Can never forgive the cheating btrd.

Wont be an easy game and we know ETH takes every competition seriously / doesn't rotate too much.

    I would play.

    Anthony-----------------------------------Brunp----------------------------------------------Sancho
    ---------------------------------------------Weghorst----------------------------------------------------

I much prefer Martial to Weghorst but think he will probably come off the bench. Would also like Eriksen to get more minutes and hopefully start against Forest on Sunday.

Goals might be hard to come by in this, Bruno / Anthony probably most likely.

I‘m hoping for Martial in attack. Fred could play alongside Casemiro.

Don't think Weghorst will start. The only small bit of pace we have comes from Martial if Rashford is out, and you need at least once fast player up front. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pellistri come in off the bench given that he can also inject some pace in the attack.

Are you serious? It would be so typical for him to get one then

UEFA: "All yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals."

So I read that as Casemiro just needs to avoid a yellow tomorrow and then he's good, as a yellow in the return leg won't carry over to the semi's

    @SAF is the GOAT

So that means yellow confirmed for tomorrow

Rashford out, so martial to star against his old club

I think that if he gets the third yellow in the second leg, he will still miss the semi-final. According to Article 52, cards expire, but suspensions incurred are carried on to the next round. For example, if he gets sent off in the second leg, he will definitely miss the first semi-final.

If there's a time for Sancho and Martial to prove their worth, it's over the next few games.

Probably right, they don't make it simple to understand

Hope for a win, and hopefully a convicing one. We will suffer in Spain so hopefully we can make it easy for us at home.

Sevilla are bang average this year and with their new manager more pragmatic and defensive, so they will probably hope for a draw.

How have they been playing in terms of transitions/game plan?

Long ball, counter attack, possession with diving anytime we go near them?

Good news. Incentive towards s*ithousery in second leg :)

Losing McT isn’t too bad, but a ‘not too serious’ injury shouldn’t rule someone completely out at such a key time of year.

We should be putting 3 or 4 goals passed them. Their struggles won’t turn in one game against us at OT. Put this tie to bed early and have heavy rotation for the return leg in Sevilla.

Don’t necessarily know if that would be the case or not. If it’s a pain management issue like a knock, there’s ways to control that.

Summer’s also right around the corner.

So how can anyone say that he shouldn't be ruled out if we don't know the facts? "Not too serious" could mean that it's too serious in terms of playing tomorrow but not too serious to rule him out for several weeks.

Yep, it certainly could be that. It could also be what I discussed. If you want to put it into percentages, if he’s at 70% overall, he should be on the bench. Obviously we will never have such a definitive value, but this stretch of matches has far more import than those in January.

I’d rather have a 100% Fred/Sabitzer/Eriksen/Mainoo on the bench than a 70% fit McTominay. Especially as in Europe you can basically have half of your academy on the bench.

In terms of quality, I agree with this except for Mainoo in non-European matches. Think McT should make the bench over him.

My broader point was that now is not the time of the season to wait until 90-95% health to bring someone back. I used the same analogy in the Rashford thread. If someone in general is at 70%, they should be looked at as making at least the bench if their talent warrants. We don’t have the luxury of having a player out until they are 90-95% fit.

I get where you’re coming from, but I think we’ve already made the mistake of rushing Rashford back and paying for it later. If it was a final and the physios said he can play for 10 minutes and participate in a shootout, I’d understand.

But it’s not a good look as a club to hurry players back. More often than not you’ll end up suffering for it later on. I would definitely not play someone at 70% fitness. Brazilian Ronaldo in the WC final as an example.

Anyway we don’t know how fit McTominay is or isn’t and I trust the medical staff and EtH to make the right decision. Long term is the key I’d say. And it’s not like we’re talking about a key player here.

Just had a quick look at their expected line-up. 35 year old Fernando and 35 year old Rakitic in the middle :wenger:
