I’d play an Antony, Rashford and Sancho front 3

Antony and Sancho need to play themselves into some form if we’re to win the Europa League

I’d start Casemiro and Bruno in midfield but be prepared to take off Rashford, Bruno and Casemiro on the 60-70min mark

I don’t think Varane will start, unless they plan to rest him this weekend vs Southampton

I agree Sancho needs to man up and make a contribution.

He's played over 200 senior games. Played 3 and a half seasons in Germany before arriving here.

There was a here we go again feeling to the atmosphere once went behind but for me Barcelona weren't overly impressive in that half and the penalty i believe their only shot on target in the half.

I thought they were very much in control and probably should have had the tie won with the opportunities we were giving away. De Gea giving it away in our own box is the first that comes to mind. It felt like we were on the ropes, but somehow a Barca team featuring Lewandowski were completely toothless.

Can't recall many opportunities they created 1st half. Penalty was a careless foul and DeGea should have saved it and DeGea almost gifted them another goal with a poor kick out, Casemiro awake to the situation

Leicester,West ham created far better chances of their own in Old Trafford recently than Barcelona did.

Bounce back in this match, and then onwards and upwards for the remainder of the season.

They never broadcast the whole session, just some warm-ups & rondos. Martial being there doesn’t mean he took part in the whole session.

Saw the video and it seemed obvious to me it was just some warm ups, how can the so called biggeat fan channel be so naive? They claimed it’s huge news and Martial is available for Betis. He’s probably been doing warm up with the team for weeks now.

You don't have a clue whether he needs to "man up", which in itself is a stupid comment. Or whether ETH doesn't think he is fit enough or he just hasn't got comfortable with the training drills yet.

In short you suggest he needs to "man up" when you don't know what is actual preventing him from playing.

I'm not sure I'm ready to watch United play football again. I'm praying they play well.

Betis are no mugs though and I'm concerned that the combination of us trying too hard to make a point and being emotionally burnt out will lead to us being really sloppy again.

Just hope the crowd stays positive if there are any bad moments. We can't afford for the season to go toxic now. We need to push through this moment.

"man up" is an unfortunate term, but I agree that we're allowed to expect from him to contribute more.

Considering that we know very little on his mental and physical capacity right now, we should have no short term expectations as "supporters" if we want long term results from him.

It's an understatement to say we need a reaction, but still, we ideally come out all guns blazing and get a couple of goals up early. Important to win here tonight, as they'll make life difficult over there. I'm confident we'll win tonight and predicting a 3-0.

This needs to be a statement win, not a scrappy 1-0 85th minute winner (although I’d take that)

going to be a tough match tonight for both team , gusty wind with sleet /rain or snow, team that adapts to the conditions better will win.
We need a result tonight and a good one.

wanted to comment we should be more accustomed to this weather before realising half our team is South American

Hate to say it but I don’t think we have it in us to snatch a win here after being completely ripped apart at Anfield. A draw or loss looking more likely, as players try and get over the shock of being so convincingly pulverised by a rival. The game at Anfield would spark some level of self-doubt even in the most resilient of players.

Must win game for our confidence. If we lose this one our season could spiral out of control.

Big reaction needed but I'm calling a score draw.

More than ever, I think we'll miss the composure of Eriksen. We need a clever head to accompany the all-action Casemiro and the potentially wounded Bruno. Between Fred and McTominay and the absent Sabitzer we definitely lack that.

First time all season I doubt I’ll be watching. Not sure I can get myself up for it after Sunday so sitting this one out.

I’m sure I’ll see the celebration posts from players on social media if we win though.

    Much snow expected in Manchester?
Can see the stadium out my window now. Supposed to be heavy snow over the next two hours, but it currently remains sleet as it has done for three hours or so. Nothing settling. Rain should then wash it away anyway.

Match will go ahead surely, despite another heavy blizzard due during the actual match.

The ground is not the problem, if the powers that be deem the road and travail conditions to be that bad, they could postpone it.
    Its happened before, Chelsea !

These posters saying they cant watch because of the liverpool result. Wtf. It Brings back the memory of “Part time supporters“ booming out from the stretford end terraces at such lightweight fans.

ETH is the man, “we win together, we loose together”
I cant wait for tonight, i want to see that big reaction.

Will be a slog as always against Spanish teams, scrappy game resulting in a draw or narrow win either way.

Could today be Ten Hag's Klopp West Brom moment?

Draw at home and then do a stage dive into the Stretford End with all the players hopefully.

Shocks me that people still consider mctominay in any team or any formation. Mctominay is the number one player to sell in the summer after maguire and martial. Absolutely useless...plus he added hiding behind opponents as a new special ability
It has more to do with people wanting to rest players than rating McTominay.

Yeah I agree, I actually don't think we've been near as good as people/pundits make out for a while now. As far back as the first Crystal Palace game I don't think we've been great - I can't remember who we played before that. But yeah, Barca were surprisingly toothless, like watching us under LVG.

First time I’ve posted on here since Sunday Liverpool post match. Just wanted to stay away all things Man Utd. The least we deserve tonight is a very good 90 minute performance with result to match after the embarrassment from the weekend. It’s not going to go away that result, it’s just something we are going to live with now and be constantly reminded & bantered about unfortunately.

Anyways onto tonight’s game. Hoping for minimum a very good 90 mins performance and result to take to Spain. Start with a strong team and if in a good early comfortable lead, then substitute the likes of Varane, Casemiro, Fernandes & Rashford.

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Varane - Martinez - Shaw

    Casemiro - Fred

    Sancho - B.Fernandes - Garnacho

    Rashford

Heaton, Dalot, Maguire, Malacia, McTominay, Mainoo, Antony, Elanga, Weghorst

    Manchester United 2-0 Real Betis

Betis are now 5th in La Liga, they are a very tough oppoent to beat, they got draws and only beaten by 1 goal vs Real and Barce in the 4 games thoughout this season, they are no mugs by anymeans.

I hope Garnacho and may be Pellstri can provide some magic off the bench, as the first team are too tired.

Will be happy take a 1-0 lead to 2nd leg actually.
