Massive statement by the manager. Calling sunday a blip and trusting this team to show what they made of. I love the unchanged side. Lets go!!
One certain way to alienate those who didn’t start on Sunday.

    This could backfire spectacularly.

If it does, I want Bruno ejected into the sun if he mopes and whinges.

What kind of message does this send players like AWB, Malacia or Sancho?

You can play like Dalot and Antony (not turn up and humiliate the club) and you still get picked the next game.
    Absolutely. This is a joke.

Don’t see the big deal. It was one very freak half and now the manager has given them the chance to put things right.

Check the over-reactions to the team sheet. Proper meltdown stuff! Some of you, I really worry about your mental state...

ETH: 'Now get out there you feckers and make up for Sunday'!
Actually think it makes sense in this case. Why would we expect the other guys to make up for Sunday.

Go out there and show you can do it or you're really getting thrown out.

Nothing wrong with the XI as long as they playing in their best positions.

If it's Bruno out wide again then he's learned nothing.

So no one gets dropped from the Liverpool game. Maybe he’s giving them a chance to redeem them selves.

If Weghorst is playing in the number 10 again it's unjustifiable.

At the very least Rashford had better be starting on the left. He is the only player in this front four who can score.

This is some kind of weird reverse psychology?

If we're losing by 5 at half time, the pissed off bench players will come on all fired up and turn our season around?

Proving that he doesn’t have a fecking clue perhaps.

How disheartened would you be as a bench player from Sunday?
He does not want to give the impression he is punishing few players while the whole squad was shit.

Saying this sort of thing, it seems that you assume that no conversations have been held about last Sunday, what Ten Hag is looking for today to start setting things right, and what that means for last Sunday's starters and bench.

Or how else do you think these things go behind the scenes and lead to this line-up? Purely Ten Hag insisting on proving himself right over everyone's backs? Sheer dumbness? Blackmail? (I'll let @rimaldo come up with interesting scenarios for that last option)

Seen this before: i remember we slaughtered Newcastle 4-0 in a charity shield match in 96 which caused a lot of embarrassment for the Newcastle fans/team and then we played them a few months and they started the exact same 11 that were annihilated by us. The result this time: they beat us 5-0 :(

Exactly. Even if we lose tonight and those who fail to deliver will be dropped for sure.

Same 11 as weekend, is he telling this lot, show us what you got.
Please beat these, I put Mctom in CM and I put Maguire in for Varane. AWB I put in as well.
    Come on lads

Why? No place to hide, go out and make amends etc.
Because many of them don’t deserve to play. The two full backs should’ve been dropped at the least. We have Sancho and Garnacho on the bench and two underperforming attackers ahead of them.

Sunday didn't do wonders for anyone's mental state I'm sure.

I mean it was a very, very shitty day and one to forget. It's Thursday now. Just my opinion, but I do feel people need to grow up a bit if they're getting that upset at EtH's team selection tonight.

Erik must hate AWB. Seems like we are 100% getting a new right-back in the summer.

Wasn’t expecting wholesale changes but what has AWB got to do to get a start, seeing as Dalot was among the very worst culprits against Liverpool.

Was one player out both now and at the weekend - Wan-Bissaka :(

Ten Hag was always going to start a strong side today, just look at the teams he's put out in the Europa League previously with hardly any rotation.

He’s giving them the opportunity to redeem themselves. Either that or enough rope to hang themselves! Time will tell which but it’s probably the right decision.

I agree. And I had a feeling he would do this.

After reading the same in a couple of places, I am not at all surprised this is what he chose.

I think dropping a few was an equally valid option as this approach of chance for redemption.

I'd argue someone like Dalot is in thin ice, and this could be a make or break game for his future.

Not sure why we are persisting with Weghorst. Unless there is a position change, I would rather see Mainoo start if we plan to play Weghorst as number 10
