Too early yet because the players I'm looking to choose could still be injured, but I'd like to see:

    De Gea
    Jones - Evans -Rojo
    Blind
Rafael - Herrera - Di Maria - Shaw
    Falcao - Rooney

I agree with this if we're sticking with the 3 centrebacks formation. Rafael and Shaw will be much better fits to that formation than Valencia/Young. What I hope to see more from us is keeping possession and not aimlessly passing to the side or lofting balls into no man's land, a couple of those pretty preseason triangle passing moves which have a purpose would be nice. Most of these guys have never played with each other before, that'll be the one thing we have to overcome and fast. Otherwise that is clearly, on paper, a top 4 team. Personally I'd prefer a 4-3-3 with Januzaj in there for his pace.

    ------------------ De Gea ------------------
    - Rafael ----- Jones ----- Rojo ----- Shaw -
    ------------- Blind ------------------------
    ----------------------- Herrera ------------
    ----- Di Maria ---- Rooney ---- Januzaj -----
    ------------------- Falcao -----------------

5-0 United. Pace on the wings, Januzaj and Di Maria can fly past people. Rooney can drop deeper and give Falcao zero defensive duties while providing him with excellent service. Fullbacks fully capable of providing cover and letting the wingers cut inside, both of which are fully capable of doing that. Defence still a bit dodgy, but excellent ball distribution from Blind. We'd swagger all over the game.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see this formation. Even if it's the best one we have thus far.

Is failing to beat Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley not a big enough indicator that a change on the field is needed?

He has players more suited for a 4-2-3-1/4-2-1-2-1/4-3-3 than he does for a 3-5-2. The only reason to stick with a 3-5-2 is because he's stubborn. There's no actual objective reason to use 3-5-2 anymore, especially with Shaw and Rafa back.

There are more reasons for him to play 3-5-2 when he has shaw + rafael..Not that I love 3-5-2, but i trust the manager choice...Young and Valencia lack the defensive instinct to play as wing back..yes they will be the cover and the fact that they started all 3 matches are due to injuries by shaw and rafael..Now they are back and they are the original players supposed to be used on wing back, what makes you think that LVG will change to anything else?

Good managers are usually arrogant and stubborn..Look at SAF and mourinho, made a lot of arrogant decision and it do work..

    De Gea
    Jones Evans Rojos
    Blind
    Januzaj Herrera Di Maria
    Rooney
    Falcao RVP
3-4-1-2 Blind providing the protection for the back 3. Rooney dropping deep adding to the creativity of Herrera, Januzaj & Di Maria. Falcao & RVP with the right service will score for fun.

Has to be this formation and lineup for me. Let Falcao get a good 65-70 minutes and bring on RVP.

Is Falcao going to make this? And how much game time has he had recently?

DDG - Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw - Herrera, Di Maria - Rooney - RVP, Falcao

Completely agree. Hope LvG tries this diamond formation with these set of players soon.

Me too, I think it could be a joy to watch, and beleive Blind would be a very key cog in that system, especially the way our defence has been shaky, plus the power and pace upfront, we should not lose the game at all.

Rafael and Shaw providing width cover to. Would really, really enjoy seeing this line up, so fingers crossed we don't see this 3-5-2 crap, i'm seriously bored of that.

Oh if RVP is fit then the Falcao signing indeed doesnt make much sense. Im glad we got such a top player anyway but now we have to bench 2 of Mata/RVP/Rooney? :/

Is Falcao going to make this? And how much game time has he had recently?

He played all his game since he recovered, 2 goals in 3 french league games, another 1 during pre-season against arsenal...Only sit out in the last game for Monaco due to transfer activity.

You must watch the Argentina's Friendly match against Germany! Skip the England's match! It's confirmed that both Di Maria and Rojo are in the squad and so they're most likely to play. No Messi nor Ozil though.

Hoping it's 4-3-3 for this one.

    De Gea

    Rafael
    Jones
    Rojo
    Shaw

    Herrera
    Blind
    Di Maria

    Januzaj
    RvP
    Rooney

    Falcao on the bench.

how many of you still cant understand that we will stick to 3-5-2, yes we struggled with it but we had our key players injured. With Herrera coming back, hopefully Rafael being ready for RWB and maybe Rojo starting over Blackett, but he may be playing left wing back IMO if Shaw is not ready and had he sorted his work permit.. Rooney and VP to start anyway, Falcao on the bench. Blind will provide cover for centrebacks and Herrera and dimaria providing legs drive and power in midfield with creativity needed.. as someone suggsted we will have more possession and SOLID defense I think, like we have seen in preseason when we concede just 1 goal in open play?? We may struggle to create loas of chances but we are paying home and we will eventually create some and our snipers up front whether it is Rooney or Falcao will take them hopefully. They were so poor at WHL, we should beat them 2,3 NIL although we play some different football but having that quality in final third I am certain the margin will be minimum two goals. This is our first of many wins in the season. We still have some time to work on things during the international break.. Sadly I dont see Januzaj getting much time on the pitch maybe as no10..

Our new 6 signings will definitely start in the next match..What LVG wants to achieve here is create a new environment in the team..Not the deadwood feeling left in last few matches..And the match is 2 weeks from now, everyone will have regain their fitness in time..Those who will be drop is from the original team that didnt perform as well as LVG expected..

Think blind might start in the 3 at the back over rojo if he still isn't sorted.

    I agree and I won't be surprised to see something like this;

If we will play 3-4-1-2 again then my line-up would be:

    ----------------------------------------------------DDG---------------------------------------------------

    -------------------------------------Jones--------Evans---------Rojo--------------------------------------

    --------Januzaj-------------------------Herrera--------------Blind-------------------------------Shaw-----

    --------------------------------------------------Di Maria-------------------------------------------------

    -------------------------------------Falcao-------------------------Rooney--------------------------------

Seeing all this beautiful formations, with DIOS Maria, Falcão, Rooney, Mata, Herrera, RVP, Janujaz, Rojo, makes me have one thought always in my mind... I'm definitely buying Fifa 15.

Im in Melbourne when this happens too..Anyone from melbourne here can suggest me where to watch the match at 1am local time??:nervous:
Where are u gonna stay in Mel? I have been here about months and I think you can go to Crown (the Casino) in city, they are showing it there. I did try to find where to watch our matches but it is hard as its sometimes too late so i got the foxtel connected.

As for the match, I saw we got like 10+players including Falcao go so my guess he is on the bench.

De Gea, Young, Jones, Evans, Blackett, Rojo, Blind, María, Mata, Rooney, Wilson.

It will be 4-2-3-1 with everyone back fit.

One focal point of attack (Falcao) 2 supporting wide forwards.
    Wayne in behind.
Herrera and Blind in the middle.

Whatever the team, I just hope we're done with 3-5-2.

I am staying in a hotel at Spencer Street, very near to the Melbourne Convention Center station..Very near to Crown as well, in walking distance...So they are definitely showing it in Crown, even at 1am?Im heading over there then!

Lets go 4-3-3 with all the big guns and smash them, its QPR ffs.

    De Gea

    Rafael - Rojo - Jones - Shaw

di Maria - Herrera - Mata
    Rooney

    Falcao - RvP

Not balanced at all, but at least we would outscore them. That said it probably will be 5-3-2 with Mata and/or RvP on the bench.

Bear in mind we were playing 352 pre season before all our players found their self destruct buttons and got injured.

Blind fits the 352 system as he can play lwb, dcm or left of a back 3 (as he did in world cup).

Signing another top class centre forward suggests we will be keeping two up front, which means no system for wingers in a wide 433 aand no chance of a 4231. This means ADM most likely left of cm 3.

There is nothing to suggest we are moving away from a 352 at all. We're gonna have to live with it im afraid

Surely 4-1-2-1-2 diamond formation is the way to go with the players we currently have. While I do feel it will be 3-5-2 I don't think it works that well. Anyway can't wait for this hopefully everyone is available as our season starts here. Think this will end up a 3-0 win with Mata, Falcao x2

I have no idea how we're going to line up for this. I just hope that Di Maria and Januzaj play on the wings in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation.

    ----------Falcao----
    Di Maria---Rooney-----Januzaj
    ------Herrera-Mata--Blind--
    --Shaw-----Rojo----Jones------

    What do you guys think?
Way too attacking match would end 8-7. hard to get all our attacking talent into one side

    ----Rafa----Jones----Rojo-----Shaw
    --------------Blind
    -------Herrera-------Di Maria
    --------------Mata
    ----RVP/Rooney------Falcao

Won't happen but has them all playing in there best positions.

    ----------Falcao----
    Di Maria---Rooney-----Januzaj
    ------Herrera-Mata--Blind--
    --Shaw-----Rojo----Jones------

    What do you guys think?
All these formations are making me dizzy.

I looked at that formation and the first thought i had was 'what the feck is he doing putting rojo up front'
