How long are people going to be allowed to peddle this bullshit unchecked ?

4 goals and 2 assists in 21 games is productive? Even if you count only the games under Ole, his scoring record isn't all that great.

He offers movement, pace and helps the other forwards but clearly is not top level as a RW.

Good post. This hits the nail on the head. There is cause for optimism but some people are getting too carried away. We are still underdogs going into the game.

To be honest, I'm just thankful to be contemplating this game and having a buzz of nerves mixed with optimism and nervous anticipation that should precede a huge game like this. It's a pleasant change to the way I have felt in the run up to these type of games in the recent past, and I'm certain I am not the only one by a long way.
This is the start to three huge games for United in the coming weeks and will go a long way to defining how United's season turns out and probably for OGS also.

Should be beating these at home, especially with their injuries, they were crap in Naples and got battered at Liverpool and somehow only lost by 1, would be very disappointing if we didn't take a lead to Paris.

Park wasn't all that productive in the goals and assists column either. But sometimes, and hold on to your hats here. A player who starts off in an attacking position sometimes has more worth too a team than just their goals and assists !!.

The value he brings beyond those two numbers is immeasurable in big games like this. 3 managers have so far concurred with this and a 4th in SAF had him earmarked as a squad player who could fit into games like this once he grew a bit in stature. He also has a habit of contributing to your precious be all end all Goals and Assists in games such as this.

Goals aren't the only way you can be productive.

But a RW starting for a top club should be productive in all areas. His movement and pace would be of no use if Rashford or Martial have a dip and stop scoring for streches. He should share the goal-scoring burden.

Salah offers goals and pace for instance. Need an upgrade in RW for sure.

He helps us score though. So he is productive.

As I said, not in terms of goals. If Rashford or Martial bottle chances due to bad form, then that makes his other qualities useless as well. Ergo, not productive overall. Just helpful until we can bring in a proper RW and keep him on as a squad player.

    Cheers.

According to some geezer called Joe its:

Buffon, Kehrer, T.Silva, Kimpembe, Bernat; Verratti, Marquinhos, Draxler; Alves, Mbappe, Di Maria(boo, double boo)

    Marquinhos in midfield ?
    Interesting.I guess that's quite a recent development ?
Dont know a great deal about Kehrer or Kimpembe ,other than I know the later is rated highly in France.

I think it’d be the easiest forward position to upgrade (Lingard), but surely every United fan can see what you just described? He’s been vital to this fluid attacking thing everybody’s so in love with.

    Cheers.

Surprised at Marquinhos in midfield as well, and Kimpembe started once for France at the World Cup, liked a long pass if memory serves

Guys do you feel Ole might throw in a surprise and play Lukaku on the right wing instead of Lingard along with Martial and Rashford .

No, why would he do something random like that in one of our biggest games of the season

Lingard has been very important player for us under Ole, hope he has a good game. Either Rashford or Martial will score a beauty today, it's what they do in big games.

To offer more physical defensive help to Young on the right wing because with Draxler , Mbappe and Di Maria playing they will be targeting the full backs more . Also Lukaku has a good track record whenever he starts from the right not to forget they are probably training for a front 3 of Lingard, Rashford and Martial with Lingard as a false 9 possibly . So option of Lukaku on right wing might bring in surprise results .

How are Keher and Bernat as full backs? And Kimpembe any good?

I was a lot more comfortable with this fixture when we were the clear underdogs...

These reports of injuries for PSG have just made me dread this more.. The season we have had, I really didn't have any expectations in Europe... Now I feel like we have a chance..

No chance Lukaku starts on the right, none at all. We rested Lingard on Saturday ready for this game, it'll be Martial-Rashford-Lingard, Lukaku hasn't earnt the right to start our biggest game of the season.

With the focus being on the other attacking players I'm really hoping Lingard steps up and shows his class tonight. He's good at find space, so here's hoping he pops up with a goal or 2.

Isn’t it great? This is where we belong, I’m confident!

Love the positive wave building in this thread - we've got fans saying we can put 3,4 and 5 goals past them tonight! Whilst I think that's a bit nuts, it's great we have confidence in the boys again and, more importantly, are looking forward to these games like it's Christmas come early.

Any time we're confident we lose though .

I'm confident we'll score and odds are in our favor with injuries, home.. and what not. However, the past 5-6 years of supporting United I've become terrified of being positive with all the false dawns we've had. We can win this game but could easily lose too. It will be close than people think I believe.

Bring your popcorns, relax and enjoy the game without expectation. Whatever happens today, we will come back stronger next season for sure.

We only play a midfield diamond against fullbacks who bomb forward too much.

Otherwise, it'll be the standard 433.

I may be the only one who thinks this, but I don't like 8pm kickoffs for the CL. 7.45pm is where it's at.

Aren't they starting to play some games Saturday night soon? Or have I completely made that up?

Bernat is the weak link. I’d imagine Ole will target his side.

Kimpembe is very good on the ball and should be comfortable with our press. He looks quite questionable defensively though.

Haven’t seen enough of Keher to comment.
