I am worried about Mbappe at the moment. Pogba and Martial aren't exactly going to help defensively and Matic just hasn't got the legs to keep up. Need De Gea on top form, no doubt about that.

Mbappe won't be doing much with no service and strike partners. It's big ask to arrive at OT and carry the team on your back.
As long as we don't make any stupid errors I'm not concerned really.

Really looking forward to it. Hope its a great game and we win, in the current form we must be slight favourites at home. Time for Oles boys to show eurpoe what they are made off. We can do it. Go for it - No fear.

Ps can we tap mbappe up whilst hes over. - swap for big rom plus cash there way. Or rom and sanchez thrown in.

We have right to be confident. Why not? We're at home, the form team in Europes top leagues and psg are proven bottlers in the CL. Their injuries have levelled it up and together with our current form tonight is swinging towards us winning. No idea how we're meant to be underdogs .
Same here. I can't find any reason why we'd be underdogs especially in this specific scenario. People keep mentioning this underdog business but never able to explain why, just random claims about how PSG can still turn us over.

We're plating at home, in form and our team is top class right now. I mean I can name many reasons why we'd be considered favorite for this game, the same can't be said for the opposition.

A lot of PSG fans in town. They seem to fecking love their jersey jogging bottoms. Not quite the Parisian fashion one might expect.

    Less smash these.

4 goals and 2 assists in 21 games is productive? Even if you count only the games under Ole, his scoring record isn't all that great.

He offers movement, pace and helps the other forwards but clearly is not top level as a RW.
Quick question, do you watch PSG?

This is a case of grass greener. With Neymar and Cavan out, our attack is clearly better than what they'll be able to put out there. Di Maria is inconsistent as feck and the equivalent of Mata in that PSG team and Draxler is not some defense scaring attacking player that would make anyone lose sleep.

Even if you want to dismiss Lingard completely, the duo of Martial and Rashford makes our attack better coupled with Pogba adding his runs and involvements in the final third our attack is clearly better.

Please watch DiMaria and Draxler for PSG first before labeling them better than our attack. The worry in PSG attack is Mbappe.

How forward does Alves play nowadays?? People who regularly watch PSG might know

Any time we're confident we lose though .

I'm confident we'll score and odds are in our favor with injuries, home.. and what not. However, the past 5-6 years of supporting United I've become terrified of being positive with all the false dawns we've had. We can win this game but could easily lose too. It will be close than people think I believe.
Not lately. Things usually have gone to expectation lately.

People who measure Lingard only in goals and assists are missing the point. His movement creates so much space for the other players, and his link play with Rash and Martial is superb. His output isn't better than Mata's for example, but we play so much better with him in team as compared to Mata.

That's why I said IF Di Maria is in top form. I know even Mbappe is prone to a quiet game. But I really worry if that fecker ADM brings his A game since he will see this as an opportunity to silence criticism of him in England.

Yes, PSG as they have been recently are beatable. That's why I said I am optimistic. But in a cup game, I tend to be wary.

And I didn't dismiss Lingard's contribution at all.

I'd give us more than a glimmer. PSG are there for the taking without Neymar.

This. They are a decent team, but don't play at PL or CL intensity week in week out and are prone to make mistakes under pressure. I'm not un-confident that we can get a result as long as we can keep a lid on Mbappe.

That being said, if Hererra can wind up Mbappe, you never know what may happen...

Genuinely no idea how tonight will go - I wouldn't be surprised if they hammered us given the Spurs second half or if we comfortably won 2-0. Two unpredictable teams who will be attacking from the off.

Can't wait now, it's dragged so much today. Match food prepped so need only to warm stuff through, beers are cold but seem to be disappearing already which is a worry.

Still think we will smash 'em, but toned down my score to only 3-1. Pogba, Rashford and Martial sharing the spoils. Di Maria for them, obviously. cnut.

I reckon it will be a score draw. Which most would consider a bad result - how far we've come in two months!

So, have we decided who will be the CBs tonight?

    Lindlehof + ?

I think we might win, on the other hand we could lose too or get a draw.
Didn't know Michael Owen was on the Caf.

That derby goal in the 96th minute was sweet, mate.

Am I the only one who is little worried that there is a bit too much positivity around and media seems to believe that we'll win, almost easily?
Maybe it is all these years of game, but it seems a bit too much to expect a straight forward easy game, regardless of PSG's plight with injuries.

Indeed, most of our fans thinking how to finish the tie today winning 4-0 or so. Hopefully it won't affect the players.

    10/11 positions are fixed tonight:

    de Gea
    Young Lindelof ??? Shaw
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial
    ---
Romero; Dalot, ???; McTominay, Mata; Sanchez, Lukaku

The bench is difficult, as is who will play at CB with Lindelof. If Smalling had a few games under his belt, I don't think there'd be much debate about him starting. However, despite a good showing against Fulham on his return, it'd probably be a risk and slightly unfair to have him take Bailly or Jones place in the squad.

I can't decide who will start out of Bailly and Jones. Bailly is more athletic which will be useful against Mbappe, but every time I've thought Bailly would start the bigger game, it was Jones who got the nod. I think Ole trusts him more at the moment.

The midfield slot on the bench could be up for grabs, but I think it'll be McTominay. It'll be a huge u-turn to see Fred suddenly given the opportunity even though it's a European game (which was argued he's more suited to).

I'm going to be the most optimistic I've ever been and say Utd 4-1 PSG. Hope we go at them full whack and finish the tie.

I'm fairly sure United will win this one. Possibly convincingly.

This plight with injuries is also quite overstated. Neymar, Cavani and Meunier are out. That's three players. Important players, sure, but it's not like they are down to bare bones.
