It's a while since I've looked forward to a game this much. Hard to believe, as it wasn't long since I was dreading this draw when it was made.
I honestly think the last time I looked forward to a game as much as this one was the United v Real game in 2013. I was at OT that time. I’ve been thinking constantly about the PSG game for several days now, and it was the same back then. Luckily Cunteyt Cakir isn’t the ref today.

I didn't think that our back 4 had a snowballs chance in hell. But eith Neymar and Cavani both out? Maybe we have a chancr

Going to miss the game :(. Might be able to catch the first half.

Damn. Even if I was a pilot and scheduled for a flight at 8PM, that plane wouldn’t be taking off until after the game.

Technical difficulties which magically repair themselves at 10pm eh ;).

On the other hand they play in a weak league where they dick on everybody else week-in-week-out, while we have ten league fixtures a year against CL-quality opposition.

This is PSG's big structural disadvantage in the CL. Looking back I seem to remember us struggling too in the years we werent being sufficiently challenged domestically. And conversely, the years we excelled were the years we were fighting hard at home - 99 being the best example.

Most bookies now have United as favourites over PSG in the first leg.

The last time that happened was probably in the Ferguson era.

Meh I'm working aswell. Gutted. Then we have easily won every game I have worked since Ole took over so hopefully that continues

    Good video from BT :

There may be some truth in it, but it is a grossly exaggerated theory to me.

In paper, the Premier League has been far more competitive than the La Liga for the last 10-15 years. La liga has essentially two sides plus an occasional Atletico (vs the big six in England), and yet they have literally won almost everything in Champions League during this period.

Hopefully our players are not thinking on how to finish the tie in the first leg rather than how to win like most of our fans do  Everyone is weirdly overconfident I don't like it. Yeah they are missing a couple key players but they are a very dangerous side nevertheless. I don't remember the last time we kept a clean sheet at OT but it feels like forever so I wouldn't expect us do it this time as well. My guess would be 2-1. Hope I am wrong and smash them 4-0 but not sure...

So Neymar and Cavani down and out - seems like Jones will only need to warm up near Mbappe.

You say that, but the "also rans" in Spain are better than people often give them credit for, I think. They always do well against English teams when they meet. Look at the problems teams like Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao have given us in the past. Yes Barca and Real are head and shoulders above others in their league, but that doesnt mean the other teams are weak.

It's just the hype. I think we are underdogs, but not by much.

    - Draxler, Di Maria and Mbappe is better than our forward line (we have Lingard who is non-productive).
    - Marquinhos and Verratti can match our midfield, but Pogba makes our midfield better than theirs in terms of an attacking edge.
    - Not been watching their games, but on paper, their defense atleast matches ours; or is better considering they don't have Phil Jones.
    - Our GK is better than theirs.

So basically, it's almost even due to their injuries, but I'd give the slight edge to PSG because Di Maria and Mbappe can be a nightmare for our CBs and Matic with their pace. We aren't too shabby at counterattacking, but those 2, if they hit top form are another level.

Spoke to Ecstatic and I think this is what the team will be with Meunier now injured.

    Buffon
    Kehrer TS Kimpembe
    Alves Verratti Marquinhos Bernat
    di Maria Mbappe Draxler

Have to attack that right hand side. I think Verratti and Kehrer are a yellow away from missing the second leg as well. Need Ander to wind the Italian up

Might as well post it here as well.

Now I'm worried about the tie more than when it was announced! Because I hope OGS can take us as far as he can in this competition after last one disappointment. And after our unbelievable run under him, hope it continues.

Same here, really. I haven’t looked forward to any European game (not even the Europa League finals) as much since SAF left. Just a few months ago I was totally indifferent to the draw when it was being made and didn’t care much because I thought we had no chance regardless of the opponent. How times have changed...
