What is up with the media love in with Newcastle, you got news channels all fawning over Newcastle being in a cup final, have they forgot their owners are the same people that murdered a journalist

    See below

I'll say this regarding this game - I expected a much bigger media love train around Newcastle, but Sky just seem to be focusing on United.

So many United interviews and so much noise around the job EtH is doing. It's frankly a bit disconcerting that a day before a final, everywhere you look there's a positive United article!

 I'd be curious to know what exactly each of you is watching and from where in the world.

Confident of a win, but I just hope we get an early goal, or at the very least, make sure they don't get one. If they go up 0-1, the ball will barely be in play for the rest of the game.

I’m pretty nervous I must say.

It feels written for Newcastle to win it and the media are enjoying the underdog story..

    Urghhhhh

I'm a wreck myself too, I've avoided any build up talk in the media and the news pages. Just have a horrible feeling about this

It's really important that we get the first goal tomorrow. Newcastle don't score all that many themselves, so they'll be relying on grinding out the game. Taking it to extra time and penalties is their likeliest route to victory so we must do everything we can to finish these off with a fast start to the game.

If you could win this or beat Liverpool at Anfield next Sunday which would you choose?

Love the scarves they're putting out for fans attending Wembley, no plastic flags here

I want one! Sadly no chance of getting tickets though

Important to get the first goal. Like ETH said these are so annoying as they waste time all game. They’ll be happy with extra time and penalties to try and get a win. Hope we smash them. Hate games that could have a nervous ending especially in the final.

They have to get this monkey off their backs. Approaching a league cup final has never felt this nervy for me.

The multi trophy winning experiences of Casemiro, Varane, Licha, etc should stand us in good stead

I’m more nervous about this one than I thought I’d be. Considering it’s “just” the Carabao Cup, but now that we are in a final I really want to win it. Fact that Newcastle hasn’t won a trophy in such a long time, you know they will be fully up for it.

Come on United!! A trophy in Ten Hag’s first season would be fantastic.

The moment might be too big for them and their anti-football shithousery.

Meanwhile we've got guys like Casemiro and Varane for whom moments like these are second nature.

Really no excuse not to win this.

some of you need to stop being wusses. its Newcastle..
Sure.. we can lose against any team.. but who the feck gets nervous for a game against newcastle?
We go in strong favorites.. enjoy it.

    walk in the park..

I’m often more nervous about games we should be winning …

The media, and all non-United fans are hyping a Newcastle win. We will have to win in the face of adversity if we are going to do this. Hopefully the ref doesn’t let them shithouse their way through the game

Newcastle fans already making themselves known in Trafalgar Square. Fair play, it's definitely a final between two sides with great support.

They keep going on about not winning anything since the Tesco cup in 1969. The FA cup in 55 was the last meaningful thing they've won.

It's quite understandable that there's a lot of hype around them. People simply expect them to become some kind of next Citeh.
As for us, we need to step up and win this. ETH really began his reign as we all hoped he would, but we have to start winning trophies to prove that we are finally on the right track

Just walked through Trafalgar Square. There are a LOT of pissed up Geordies. Thousands of them.

Why not? Incredible support and passion despite little to celebrate.

They deserved better than Mike Ashley.
I think the Geordie identity is quite strong and Newcastle United are the personification of that

We are bang on form and they are just about eeking out draws. They will be playing for a draw and try and win it on penalties. We cannot let them frustrate us with their anti football shithousery.

Get an early goal and they will have to come out and play, then we can get at them again. I think that the experience we have in our team is what will win it for us in the end. Casemiro and Varane know how to get across the line. Rashford will give Trippier nightmares.

I predict Wout to score the first goal (from a header!)

Given how atrociously Newcastle tend to waste time and try to kill off games I'm really worried that people won't bother spending money on a NOW one day pass to access this game and will resort to using a vpn to access the game another way!

If anyone else shares these concerns feel free to dm me any potential sources of such reprehensible behaviour!

Rashford v Trippier will be interesting. Does anyone know ETHs record in cup finals

Trippier has been crap recently, a lot of my Newcastle supporting pals have been slagging him off for weeks now. Constantly out of position, playing men offside, not beating the first man with set pieces etc

Always good to put these little teams in their place on their big day out. Which we will.

They've had four wins in their last ten, with 4 draws and 2 defeats. Overall they've been very poor since the world cup. They don't score much and will be using their third choice keeper. Their bonus is greater rest, but they will absolutely try to make it as ugly as possible. The only way around that is to score early and stay on the front foot. There's loads of attention on the goalkeeper too who simply can't be match sharp. We really should win, but I'm not especially confident.

We need to not make any dangerous free kicks for him to redeem himself.

I'm completely relaxed about it and think we'll win comfortably. At the end of the day, it's Newcastle we're talking about. They have been wobbling a bit recently too. We must be strong favourites and I think we'll be fine. I can actually see the occasion getting to then and they don't play well at all.

The Tesco Cup is the same competition United beat Barcelona in the other night.

I know some fans regard it as beneath us, but it’s the last trophy we won. Only six years ago though, which is a little less than 54 :)

Our season was already legendary when we won the coveted Bangkok Century Cup, but sure it would be nice to add another trophy tomorrow.
